Time-synchronous-averaging(TSA)is based on the idea of denoising by averaging,and it extracts the periodic co.ponents of a quasiperiodic signal and keeps the extracted waveform *** paper studies the mathematical properties of TSA,where three propositions are given to reveal the nature of *** paper also proposes a TSA-spectrum based on super-resolution analysis and it deco.poses a signal without using any base *** co.trast to discrete Fourier transform spectrum(DFT-spectrum),which is a spectrum in frequency domain,TSA-spectrum is a period-based spectrum,which can present more details of the cross effects between different periodic co.ponents of a quasiperiodic ***,a case study is carried out using bearing fault analysis to illustrate the performance of TSA-spectrum,where the rotation speed fluctuation of the shaft is estimated,which is about 0.12 ms *** extracted fault signals are presented and some insights are *** believe that this paper can provide new motivation for TSA-spectrum to be widely used in applications involving quasiperiodic signal processing(QSP).

The development of aqueous Zn batteries is limited by parasitic water reactions,co.rosion,and dendrite *** address these challenges,an inner Helmholtz plane(IHP)regulation method is proposed by employing low-co.t,non-toxic maltitol as the electrolyte *** preferential adsorption behavior of maltitol can expel the water from the inner Helmholtz plane,and thus hinder the immediate co.tact between Zn metal and H_(2)***,strong interaction between maltitol and H_(2)O molecules can restrain the activity of H_(2)***,the"IHP adsorption effect"along with the low LUMO energy level of maltitol-CF_(3)SO_(3)^(-)can promote the in-situ formation of an organic-inorganic co.plex solid electrolyte interface(SEI)*** a result,the hydrogen/oxygen evolution side reaction,co.rosion,and dendrites issues are effectively suppressed,thereby leading to highly reversible and dendrite-free Zn plating/*** Zn‖I_(2)battery with hybrid electrolytes also demonstrates high electrochemical performance and ultralong cycling stability,showing a capacity retention of 75%over 20000 charge-discharge cycles at a large current density of 5 A g^(-1).In addition,the capacity of the device has almost no obvious decay over20000 cycles even at-30℃.This work offers a successful electrolyte regulation strategy via the IHP adsorption effect to design electrolytes for high-performance rechargeable Zn-ion batteries.

DNA sequencers have beco.e increasingly important research and diagnostic tools over the past 20 *** this study,we developed a single-molecule desktop sequencer,GenoCare 1600(GenoCare),which utilizes amplification-free library preparation and two-co.or sequencing-by-synthesis chemistry,making it more user-friendly co.pared with previous single-molecule sequencing platforms for clinical *** the GenoCare platform,we sequenced an Escherichia co.i standard sample and achieved a co.sensus accuracy exceeding 99.99%.We also evaluated the sequencing performance of this platform in microbial mixtures and co.onavirus disease 2019(co.ID-19)samples from throat *** findings indicate that the GenoCare platform allows for microbial quantitation,sensitive identification of the severe acute respiratory syndrome co.onavirus 2(SARS-co.-2)virus,and accurate detection of virus mutations,as co.firmed by Sanger sequencing,demonstrating its remarkable potential in clinical application.

Structured-light(SL)based 3D sensors have been widely used in many *** SL is the most widely deployed among all SL sensors due to its light weight,co.pact size,fast video rate,and low *** transmitter(known as the dot projector)co.sists of a randomly patterned vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser(VCSEL)array multiplicated by a diffractive optical element(DOE)with a fixed repeated *** that the separation of any two speckles is only one known and fixed number(albeit random),there are no other known scales to cal-ibrate or ***,typical SL sensors require extensive in-factory calibrations,and the depth resolution is limited to 1 mm at-60 cm *** this paper,to the best of our knowledge,we propose a novel dot projector and a new addressable SL(ASL)3D sensor by using a regularly spaced,individually addressable VCSEL array,multiplicated by a metasurface-DOE(MDOE)into a random pattern of the *** turning on or off the VCSELs in the array provides multiple known distances between neighboring speckles,which is used as a“built-in caliper”to achieve higher accuracy of *** as a precise“vernier caliper,”the addressable VCSEL array enables fine co.trol over speckle positions and high detection *** experimentally dem-onstrated that the proposed method can result in sub-hundred-micron level *** new co.cept opens new possibilities for applications such as 3D co.putation,facial reco.nition,and wearable devices.

The springing up of large language models(LLMs)has shifted the co.munity from single-task-orientated natural language processing(NLP)research to a holistic end-to-end multi-task learning *** this line of research endeavors in the area,LLM-based prompting methods have attracted much attention,partially due to the technological advantages brought by prompt engineering(PE)as well as the underlying NLP principles disclosed by various prompting *** supervised learning usually requires training a model based on labeled data and then making *** co.trast,PE methods directly use the powerful capabilities of existing LLMs(e.g.,GPT-3 and GPT-4)via co.posing appropriate prompts,especially under few-shot or zero-shot *** the abundance of studies related to the prompting and the ever-evolving nature of this field,this article aims to 1)illustrate a novel perspective to review existing PE methods within the well-established co.munication theory framework,2)facilitate a better/deeper understanding of developing trends of existing PE methods used in three typical tasks,and 3)shed light on promising research directions for future PE methods.

Reco.ery of Li, Ni, co.and Mn from spent lithium-ion batteries assisted by organic acids: Process optimization and leaching mechanism

The proper recycling of spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)can promote the reco.ery and utilization of valuable resources,while also negative environmental effects resulting from the presence of toxic and hazardous *** this study,a new environmentally friendly hydro-metallurgical process was proposed for leaching lithium(Li),nickel(Ni),co.alt(co.,and manganese(Mn)from spent LIBs using sulfuric acid with citric acid as a *** effects of the co.centration of sulfuric acid,the leaching temperature,the leaching time,the solid-liquid ratio,and the reducing agent dosage on the leaching behavior of the above elements were *** parameters were optimized using response surface methodology(RSM)to maximize the reco.ery of metals from spent *** maxim-um reco.ery efficiencies of Li,Ni,co.and Mn can reach 99.08%,98.76%,98.33%,and 97.63%.under the optimized co.ditions(the sulfuric acid co.centration was 1.16 mol/L,the citric acid dosage was 15wt%,the solid-liquid ratio was 40 g/L,and the temperature was 83℃ for 120 min),*** was found that in the co.laborative leaching process of sulfuric acid and citric acid,the citric acid initially provided strong reducing co.(2)^(-),and the transition metal ions in the high state underwent a reduction reaction to produce transition metal ions in the low ***,citric acid can also act as a proton donor and chelate with lower-priced transition metal ions,thus speeding up the dissolution process.

Pure quantum gradient descent algorithm and full quantum variational eigensolver

Optimization problems are prevalent in various fields,and the gradient-based gradient descent algorithm is a widely adopted optimization ***,in classical co.puting,co.puting the numerical gradient for a function with variables necessitates at least d+1 function evaluations,resulting in a co.putational co.plexity of O(d).As the number of variables increases,the classical gradient estimation methods require substantial resources,ultimately surpassing the capabilities of classical ***,leveraging the principles of superposition and entanglement in quantum mechanics,quantum co.puters can achieve genuine parallel co.puting,leading to exponential acceleration over classical algorithms in some *** this paper,we propose a novel quantum-based gradient calculation method that requires only a single oracle calculation to obtain the numerical gradient result for a multivariate *** co.plexity of this algorithm is just O(1).Building upon this approach,we successfully implemented the quantum gradient descent algorithm and applied it to the variational quantum eigensolver(VQE),creating a pure quantum variational optimization *** with classical gradient-based optimization algorithm,this quantum optimization algorithm has remarkable co.plexity advantages,providing an efficient solution to optimization *** proposed quantum-based method shows promise in enhancing the performance of optimization algorithms,highlighting the potential of quantum co.puting in this field.
