Increased excitatory amino acid transporter 2 levels in basolateral amygdala astrocytes mediate chronic stress–induced anxiety-like behavior

The conventional perception of astrocytes as mere supportive cells within the brain has recently been called into question by empirical evidence, which has revealed their active involvement in regulating brain function and encoding behaviors associated with ***, astrocytes in the basolateral amygdala have been found to play a role in the modulation of anxiety-like behaviors triggered by chronic stress. Nevertheless, the precise molecular mechanisms by which basolateral amygdala astrocytes regulate chronic stress–induced anxiety-like behaviors remain to be fully elucidated. In this study, we found that in a mouse model of anxiety triggered by unpredictable chronic mild stress, the expression of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 was upregulated in the basolateral amygdala. Interestingly, our findings indicate that the targeted knockdown of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 specifically within the basolateral amygdala astrocytes was able to rescue the anxiety-like behavior in mice subjected to stress. Furthermore, we found that the overexpression of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 in the basolateral amygdala, whether achieved through intracranial administration of excitatory amino acid transporter 2agonists or through injection of excitatory amino acid transporter 2-overexpressing viruses with GfaABC1D promoters, evoked anxiety-like behavior in mice. Our single-nucleus RNA sequencing analysis further confirmed that chronic stress induced an upregulation of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 specifically in astrocytes in the basolateral amygdala. Moreover, through in vivo calcium signal recordings, we found that the frequency of calcium activity in the basolateral amygdala of mice subjected to chronic stress was higher compared with normal *** knocking down the expression of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 in the basolateral amygdala, the frequency of calcium activity was not significantly increased, and anxiety-like behavior was ob

Recent development in electrode design for wide-temperature supercapacitors

An ever-increasing market demand has stimulated the soaring enthusiasm of researchers to develop wide-temperature supercapacitors(SCs). The active electrode is one of the most important parts of SC, which is directly related to the energy density,power transmission and long-term cyclability of the device in the wide-temperature environment. Compared with the SC electrodes aimed for room-temperature application, the SC electrodes for operating at wide-temperature scene often face greater challenges. In this review, the main challenges of SC electrodes under various temperature conditions, including low, high and cross-fade temperatures, are summarized. The relevant performance decay and failure mechanisms of wide-temperature SC electrodes are analyzed. In addition, this review deals with the recent studies and developments in robust wide-temperature SC electrodes with respect to the rational design of electrode structures and the exploitation of advanced active materials. Finally, the future directions for exploring reliable wide-temperature SCs are also proposed.

In this paper we investigate the existence, uniqueness and regularity of the solution of semilinear parabolic equations with coefficients that are discontinuous across the interface, some prior estimates are obtained. A net shape of the finite elements around the singular points was designed in [7] to solve the linear elliptic problems, by means of that net, we prove that the approximate solution has the same convergence rate as that without singularity.

ON THE GENERALIZED INVERSE NEVILLE-TYPE MATRIX-VALUED RATIONAL INTERPOLANTS

A new kind of matrix-valued rational interpolants is recursively established by means of generalized Samelson inverse for matrices, with scalar numerator and matrix-valued denominator. In this respect, it is essentially different from that of the previous works [7, 9], where the matrix-valued rational interpolants is in Thiele-type continued fraction form with matrix-valued numerator and scalar denominator. For both univariate and bivariate cases, sufficient conditions for existence, characterisation and uniqueness in some sense are proved respectively, and an error formula for the univariate interpolating function is also given. The results obtained in this paper are illustrated with some numerical examples.

New computing method of weighted coefficients for tracking a maneuvering target using PDAF in the presence of clutter

To avoid or reduce the influence of unpredictable motion mode on data association, a new computing method of weighted coefficients of measurements for PDAF is presented in which it is assumed that the current turn rate of a maneuvering target changes within a limited range and its turn may be in arbitrary direction during data association. Thus, the predicted center for computing the weighted coefficients is a curved surface in 3-D space, which differs from the predicted center for setting up a validation gate, namely, a point in 3-D space. The distance between a measurement and the curved surface is used to compute its weighted coefficient. To reduce the computational complexity of weighted coefficients, the formulas for computing the maneuvering direction angle and turn rate corresponding to a measurement are presented. Simulation results show the proposed method reduces the percentage of lost tracks and improves the state estimation accuracy in tracking a maneuvering target using PDAF in the presence of clutter.

Spin-dependent transport for a two-dimensional electron gas with magnetic barriers

The spin-dependent conductance and magnetoresistance ratio （MRR） for a semiconductor heterostructures consisting of two magnetic barriers with different height and space have been investigated by the transfer-matrix method. It is shown that the splitting of the conductance for parallel and antiparallel magnetization configurations results in tremendous spin-dependent MRR, and the maximal MRRs reach 5300% and 3800% for the magnetic barrier spaces W = 81.3 and 243.9 nm, respectively. The obtained spin-filtering transport property of nanostructures with magnetic barriers may be useful to magnetic-barrier-based spintronics.

Electronic transport for armchair graphene nanoribbons with a potential barrier

This paper studies the electronic transport property through a square potential barrier in armchair-edge graphene nanoribbon （AGNR）. Using the Dirac equation with the continuity condition for wave functions at the interfaces between regions with and without a barrier, we calculate the mode-dependent transmission probability for both semiconducting and metallic AGNRs, respectively. It is shown that, by some numerical examples, the transmission probability is generally an oscillating function of the height and range of the barrier for both types of AGNRs. The main difference between the two types of systems is that the magnitude of oscillation for the semiconducting AGNR is larger than that for the metallic one. This fact implies that the electronic transport property for AGNRs depends sensitively on their widths and edge details due to the Dirac nature of fermions in the system.

Theoretical and experimental study of Chen chaotic system with notch filter feedback control

Since the past two decades, the time delay feedback control method has attracted more and more attention in chaos control studies because of its simplicity and efficiency compared with other chaos control schemes. Recently, it has been proposed to suppress low-dimensional chaos with the notch filter feedback control method, which can be implemented in a laser system. In this work, we have analytically determined the controllable conditions for notch filter feedback controlling of Chen chaotic system in terms of the Hopf bifurcation theory. The conditions for notch filter feedback controlled Chen chaoitc system having a stable limit cycle solution are given. Meanwhile, we also analysed the Hopf bifurcation direction, which is very important for parameter settings in notch filter feedback control applications. Finally, we apply the notch filter feedback control methods to the electronic circuit experiments and numerical simulations based on the theoretical analysis. The controlling results of notch filter feedback control method well prove the feasibility and reliability of the theoretical analysis.
