We report here the additive Runge-Kutta methods for computing reactive Euler equations with a stiff source term, and in particular, their applications in gaseous detonation simulations. The source term in gaseous detonation is stiff due to the presence of wide range of time scales during thermal-chemical non-equilibrium reactive processes and some of these time scales are much smaller than that of hydrodynamic flow. The high order, L-stable, additive Runge-Kutta methods proposed in this paper resolved the stiff source term into the stiff part and non-stiff part, in which the stiff part was solved implicitly while the non-stiff part was handled explicitly. The proposed method was successfully applied to simulating the gaseous detonation in a stoichiometric H2/O2 /Ar mixture based on a detailed elementary chemical reaction model comprised of 9 species and 19 elementary reactions. The results showed that the stiffly accurate additive Runge-Kutta methods can capture the discontinuity well, and describe the detonation complex wave configurations accurately such as the triple wave structure and cellular pattern.

We investigate the influence of the interaction volume on the energy resolution of a velocity map imaging spectrometer. The simulation results show that the axial interaction size has a significant influence on the resolution. This influence is increased for a higher kinetic energy. We further show that the radial interaction size has a minor influence on the energy resolution for the electron or ion with medium energy, but it is crucial for the resolution of the electron or ion With low kinetic energy. By tracing the flight trajectories we show how the electron or ion energy resolution is influenced by the interaction size.

Biomass conversion offers an efficient approach to alleviate the energy and environmental *** oxidation of 5-hydroxymethylfurfural(HMF) has attracted tremendous attention in the latest few years for the mild synthesis conditions and high conversion efficiency to obtain 2,5-furan dicarboxylic acid(FDCA), but there still remain problems such as limited yield, short cycle life,and ambiguous reaction mechanism. Despite many reviews highlighting a variety of electrocatalysts for electrochemical oxidation of HMF, a detailed discussion of the structural modulation of catalyst and the underlying catalytic mechanism is still lacking. We herein provide a comprehensive summary of the recent development of electrochemical oxidation of HMF to FDCA, particularly focusing on the mechanism studies as well as the advanced strategies developed to regulate the structure and optimize the performance of the electrocatalysts, including heterointerface construction, defect engineering,single-atom engineering, and in situ reconstruction. Experimental characterization techniques and theoretical calculation methods for mechanism and active site studies are elaborated, and challenges and future directions of electrochemical oxidation of HMF are also prospected. This review will provide guidance for designing advanced catalysts and deepening the understanding of the reaction mechanism beneath electrochemical oxidation of HMF to FDCA.

A theoretical model for calculating electric-power curves of small-size foil during its electrical explosion is *** technique is based on temperature dependence of foil *** taking into account the energy conversion of the foil explosion,the power-time curve is applied to the hydrodynamic ***-dimensional numerical simulations of electric-explosion driving flyers are performed using this *** flyer velocities lie within ±8% of experimental data from Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory （LLNL）,and simulated history curves of flyer velocities coincide well with those measured using velocity interferometer system for any reflector （VISAR）,indicating a helpful work for design optimization of slapper detonators.

Feature modeler of welded structure provides both 3D-geographical and non-geographical features for the off-line programming of arc welded robot. Welded structure is regarded as an assembly, the design of welded structure consists of three aspects f plane, joint, and groove design. Each aspect corresponds to a category of features. The plane features are defined by interactive feature definition. A method analogous to the 'mating feature' is introduced to represent the joint features. Based on AutoCAD 2000, a B-rep solid modeler, a prototype system is implemented.

Networked noncooperative games are investigated,where each player(or agent) plays with all other players in its neighborhood. Assume the evolution is based on the fact that each player uses its neighbors current information to decide its next strategy. By using sub-neighborhood, the dynamics of the evolution is obtained. Then a method for calculating Nash equilibriums from mixed strategies of multi-players is *** relationship between local Nash equilibriums based on individual neighborhoods and global Nash equilibriums of overall network is revealed. Then a technique is proposed to construct Nash equilibriums of an evolutionary game from its one step static Nash equilibriums. The basic tool of this approach is the semi-tensor product of matrices, which converts strategies into logical matrices and payoffs into pseudo-Boolean functions, then networked evolutionary games become discrete time dynamic systems.

We utilize the phenomenologically parameterized piecewise polytropic equations of state to study various neutron star *** investigate the compliance of these equations of state with several astronomical *** also demonstrate that the theoretical estimates of the fractional moment of inertia cannot explain all the pulsar glitches *** model the crust as a solid spheroidal shell to calculate the fractional moment of inertia of fast-spinning neutron *** also show that the braking index obtained in a simple magnetic dipole radiation model with a varying moment of inertia deviates significantly from the observed *** developments in both theory and observations may allow us to use the fractional moment of inertia and braking index as observational constraints for neutron star equation of state.

In recent years, the acceleration of urbanization process results in frequent watedoggingj the decline of groundwater level and frequent urban infiasttucture construction pfoblem. In order to better safeguard complex ecological system and ecological civilization construction in tiie city, and solve the appropriate ratio of water and wetland area to total land area, for water ecological civilization construction in low impact development, the pursuit of water resources sustainability, the pursuit of safety concept, the pursuit of ecological engineeting technology and the pursuit of art are proposed. Based on these pursuits, the principles and design methods of campus landscape creation in colleges and univefsities under the concept of elow impact^ is analyzed. Taking the landscape design, of the shated training base from Jiangsu Vocational institute of Architectural technology as an example, how to use the concept of clow impacf？ development in actual cases is analyze4 to achieve rainwater collection, water purification, water storage and rainwater ecological utilization, and create a holistic, ecological and diverse sustainable landscape in colleges and universities.

Coating of gold nanoclusters with peptides is an important targeting method in biomedical ***, their synthetic method highly influences their targeting ability. Current methods often use harsh reagents and organic solvents to control morphology, which are not preferred for biomedical applications. Recently, several peptides with specific amino acid sequences have successfully been used to reduce Au ions and synthesize biocompatible peptide-covered gold particles in ***, the molecular mechanism of peptide-assisted nanocluster formation is yet unclear. Thus, reactive abilities of different amino acids should be studied to improve design of peptides with predetermined amino acid content and consequently, synthesize gold nanoclusters with improved performance. In this theoretical study, we have approximated the reactive abilities of 20 natural amino acids in their neutral state using density functional theory calculations, such as Fukui indices and HOMO/LUMO composition analysis. We have found that the top reducing agents are tryptophan, histidine, and tyrosine, and thestrongest binding can be expected from methionine and cysteine. Further study of the exact reactive sites in these high reactive amino acids provided the deep insight for the peptide design route for the targeted gold nanocluster formation.
