Automatic Modification of Local Drilling Holes via Double Pre-Assembly Holes

Manufacturing accuracy, especially position accuracy of fastener holes, directly affects service life and security of aircraft. The traditional modification has poor robustness, while the modification based on laser tracker costs too much. To improve the relative position accuracy of aircraft assembly drilling, and ensure the hole-edge distance requirement, a method was presented to modify the coordinates of drilling holes. Based on online inspecting two positions of pre-assembly holes and their theoretical coordinates, the spatial coordinate transformation matrix of modification could be calculated. Thus the straight drilling holes could be modified. The method improves relative position accuracy of drilling on simple structure effectively. And it reduces the requirement of absolute position accuracy and the cost of position modification. And the process technician also can use this method to decide the position accuracy of different pre-assembly holes based on the accuracy requirement of assembly holes.

Facing the trend of increasing population,how to increase maize grain yield is a very important issue to ensure food security.In this study,28 nationally approved maize hybrids were evaluated across 24 different climatic conditions for two consecutive years(2018-2019).The purpose of this study was to select high-yield with stable genotypes and identify important agronomic traits for maize breeding program improvement.The results of this study showed that the genotypeenvironment interaction effects of the 12 evaluated agronomic traits was highly significant(Ptechnician,genotypeyieldtrait(GYT)biplot,based on multiple traits for genotypes selection was also applied in this study.The GYT biplot ranked genotypes by combining grain yield with other evaluated agronomic traits,and displayed the distribution of their traits,namely strengths and weaknesses.

A rapid approach for isolating a single fungal spore from rice blast diseased leaves

Single spore isolation is a fundamental approach in plant pathology and mycology to isolate and identify plant fungal pathogens from diseased samples.However,routine single spore isolation procedure is time-consuming and has a high risk of contamination by other microorganisms.In this study,we developed a rapid approach for isolating a single spore of the fungal pathogen,Pyricularia oryzae,from rice blast diseased leaves in the paddy field with low potential of contamination.First,rice blast leaves with single lesions were selected in the paddy field,and a single lesion was cut out and pressed and dragged gently across the surface of water agar.Next,a germinated single spore with a barely visible piece of agar was cut out of water agar with a dissecting needle under a stereomicroscope at approximately 120-fold magnification.Last,the germinated single spore with water agar was transferred onto oatmeal tomato agar for growth and preservation.Based on our experience,a skilled technician or student can successfully isolate single spore from over 150 independent diseased samples with nearly no contaminations in a single working day.This approach is also suitable for isolating single spore from other fungal disease samples that produce abundant aerial conidia.

To date there is virtually no information available concerning the fungi associated with Tectona grandis(teak)(Lamiaceae)in Thailand.In this study,samples of microfungi were collected from both asymptomatic stems and dead wood,and symptomatic branches,stem and leaves of T.grandisfrom 27 sites in six provinces(Chiang Mai,Chiang Rai,Phayao,Phitsanulok,Phrae and Uttaradit Provinces).Morphology and combined multi-gene phylogeny(CAL,GAPDH,ITS,LSU,RPB2,SSU,TEF1 and TUB)were used to identify taxa.A total of 270 collections,representing 28 fungal species residing in 12 families,7 orders and 21 genera,with three species of uncertain taxonomic placement were identified.Of these,one family,three genera and 14 species are new to science.The new family,Pseudocoleodictyosporaceae is introduced based on its distinct lineage in the Dothideomycetes and its unique morphology as compared to Roussoellaceae and Torulaceae.The new genera are Neooccultibambusa,Pseudocoleodictyospora and Subglobosporium.The newly described species are Diaporthe neoraonikayaporum,D.tectonendophytica,D.tectonae,D.tectonigena,Hermatomyces tectonae,H.thailandica,Manoharachariella tectonae,Neooccultibambusa chiangraiensis,Pseudocoleodictyospora sukhothaiensis,Ps.tectonae,Ps.thailandica,Rhytidhysteron tectonae,Subglobosporium tectonae and Tubeufia tectonae.Fourteen species are known published taxa including Alternaria tillandsiae,Berkleasmium talaumae,Boerlagiomyces macrospora,Ceratocladium purpureogriseum,Fusarium solani,Helicoma siamense,Lasiodiplodia theobromae,Macrovalsaria megalospora,Paradictyoarthrinium diffractum,Phaeoacremonium italicum,Sphaeropsis eucalypticola,Stachybotrys levispora,St.renispora and Thaxteriellopsis lignicola.Epitypifications or reference specimens are designated for Boerlagiomyces macrospora and Macrovalsaria megalospora.Macrovalsaria megalospora is transferred from Botryosphaeriaceae to Dothideomycetes genus,incertae sedis based on taxonomy and phylogenetic analysis,which indicate it is distinct from Botryosphaeriaceae.All fungal

Host-mediated lung inflammation is present,1 and drives mortality,2 in critical illness caused by Covid-19.Host genetic variants associated with critical illness may identify mechanistic targets for therapeutic development.3 Here we report the results of the GenOMICC(Genetics Of Mortality In Critical Care)genome-wide association study(GWAS)in 2244 critically ill Covid-19 patients from 208 UK intensive care units(ICUs).We identify and replicate novel genome-wide significant associations,on chr12q24.13(rs10735079,p=1.65[Formula:see text]10-8)in a gene cluster encoding antiviral restriction enzyme activators(OAS1,OAS2,OAS3),on chr19p13.2(rs2109069,p=2.3[Formula:see text]10-12)near the gene encoding tyrosine kinase 2(TYK2),on chr19p13.3(rs2109069,p=3.98[Formula:see text]10-12)within the gene encoding dipeptidyl peptidase 9(DPP9),and on chr21q22.1(rs2236757,p=4.99[Formula:see text]10-8)in the interferon receptor gene IFNAR2.We identify potential targets for repurposing of licensed medications:using Mendelian randomisation we found evidence in support of a causal link from low expression of IFNAR2,and high expression of TYK2,to life-threatening disease;transcriptome-wide association in lung tissue revealed that high expression of the monocyte/macrophage chemotactic receptor CCR2 is associated with severe Covid-19.Our results identify robust genetic signals relating to key host antiviral defence mechanisms,and mediators of inflammatory organ damage in Covid-19.Both mechanisms may be amenable to targeted treatment with existing drugs.Large-scale randomised clinical trials will be essential before any change to clinical practice.
