Interaction mechanism between BaZrO_(3)/Y_(2)O_(3) refractory and Ti_(2)Ni alloy melts

The titanium alloys with highly chemical activity require stable crucible refractories that can withstand the erosion of alloy *** phase composition and microstructure are crucial factors that affect the stability of the refractory *** effect of Y_(2)O_(3) on the composition and microstructure of BaZrO_(3) crucible was systematically investigated,and the improved mechanism of the stability of BaZrO_(3)/Y_(2)O_(3) crucible was clarified in comparison with the BaZrO_(3) *** results showed that the erosion layer thickness of the BaZrO_(3)/Y_(2)O_(3) crucible was only 63μm,which was far less than that in the BaZrO_(3) crucible(485μm),and the erosion layer in the BaZrO_(3)/Y_(2)O_(3) crucible also exhibited a higher density than that in the BaZrO_(3) *** the sintering,Y_(2)O_(3) could improve the densification of the BaZrO_(3) crucible due to the solid solution effect between Y_(2)O_(3) and ZrO_(2),which also caused the evaporation of BaO,resulting in the generation of a Y_(2)O_(3)(ZrO_(2))film on the surface of the ***,the Y_(2)O_(3)(ZrO_(2))had higher thermodynamic stability than Y_(2)O_(3),confirming that the BaZrO_(3)/Y_(2)O_(3) crucible with high density exhibited a superior erosion resistance to titanium *** dual-phase structure provides a strategy to design a long-life and stable refractory for melting titanium alloys.

Effects of longitudinal magnetic field on primary dendrite spacing and segregation of directionally solidified single crystal superalloy

The primary dendrite spacing(PDS) and segregation of directionally solidified single crystal(SC) superalloy under the longitudinal magnetic field(LMF) were investigated based on the analysis of the whole cross-sectional microstructure at different solidification distances. The results show that the PDS under the LMF remains basically unchanged at different solidification distances, and it is greater than that under no LMF. With the increase of magnetic field intensity, the PDS increases and the macrosegregation decreases. The increasing PDS and reducing segregation under the LMF can be attributed to the increase of solute boundary layer, which expands the non-equilibrium freezing temperature range and brings the effective partition coefficient closer to 1. The increase of the solute enrichment layer thickness could be caused by the downward secondary circulation generated by the thermoelectric magnetic convection(TEMC) near the interface, which drives the migration of solutes towards the interdendritic region. This work not only clarifies the mechanism of LMF controlling PDS and reducing segregation by TEMC, but also provides theoretical guidance for producing high-quality SC superalloys using magnetic fields.

Influence of syngas components and ash particles on the radiative heat transfer in a radiant syngas cooler

Radiant syngas cooler(RSC)is widely used as a waste heat recovery equipment in industrial *** this work,an RSC with radiation screens is established and the impact of gaseous radiative property models,gas components,and ash particles on heat transfer is investigated by the numerical simulation *** the syngas components and the pressure environment of the RSC,a modified weighted-sum-of-gray-gases model was *** modified model shows high accuracy in *** computational fluid dynamics simulation,the calculated steam production is only 0.63%in error with the industrial *** with Smith's model,the temperature decay along the axial direction calculated by the modified model is *** components are of great significance to heat recovery capacity,especially when the absorbing gas fraction is less than 10%.After considering the influence of particles,the outlet temperature and the proportion of radiative heat transfer are less affected,but the difference in steam output reaches 2.7 t·h^(-1).The particle deposition on the wall greatly reduces the heat recovery performance of an RSC.

Operando investigation of particle re-entrainment mechanism in electrostatic capture process on the lab-on-a-chip

Inhalable particle is a harmful air pollutant that causes a significant threat to people's health and ecological environments,which should be removed to purify air,but there exists limited removal efficiency due to particle ***,Operando observation system based on microscopic visualization method is developed to make in situ test of particle migration,deposition and re-entrainment characteristics on a lab-on-a-chip to achieve the investigation in micro-level *** deposition evolution of charged particles is recorded in electric field region intuitively,which confirms the fracture of particle chain occurs during the growth process of deposited *** captures the instantaneous process that a larger particle with micron size due to the coagulation of submicron particles fractures from main body of the particle chain for the first *** analysis of migration behavior of a single submicron particle near electrode surface demonstrates the direct influence of drag force on the fracture of particle *** work is the first-time visualization of dynamic process and mechanism elucidation of particle re-entrainment at the micron level,and the findings will provide the theory support for the particle re-entrainment mechanism and bring inspires of enhancing capture efficiency of inhalable particle.

A Comparison of Four Neural Networks Algorithms on Locomotion Intention Recognition of Lower Limb Exoskeleton Based on Multi-source Information

Lower Limb Exoskeletons(LLEs)are receiving increasing attention for supporting activities of daily *** such active systems,an intelligent controller may be *** this paper,we proposed a locomotion intention recognition system based on time series data sets derived from human motion *** of input data and Deep Learning(DL)algorithms,this framework enables the detection and prediction of users’movement *** makes it possible to predict the detection of locomotion modes,allowing the LLEs to provide smooth and seamless *** pre-processed eight subjects were used as input to classify four scenes:Standing/Walking on Level Ground(S/WOLG),Up the Stairs(US),Down the Stairs(DS),and Walking on Grass(WOG).The result showed that the ResNet performed optimally compared to four algorithms(CNN,CNN-LSTM,ResNet,and ResNet-Att)with an approximate evaluation indicator of 100%.It is expected that the proposed locomotion intention system will significantly improve the safety and the effectiveness of LLE due to its high accuracy and predictive performance.

Placing metals within microwave ovens has been generally viewed as a dangerous practice because of occurrence of violent discharge,but in recent years such discharge phenomenon has attracted increasing attention and has enabled a variety of exciting *** this work,we provide a comprehensive review of fundamental understanding of microwave-metal discharge interaction and its state-of-the-art application for nanomaterials *** introduce the microscopic interaction between different categories of materials and the electric and magnetic field of *** microwave-metal interaction,we highlight its size-dependence and point out the influence of the oxide layer on the surface of *** discuss the required conditions for occurrence of discharge,microscopic formation mechanism,and characteristic features of microwave-metal discharge *** analyzing the influence from the microwave input,discharging metals,and surrounding discharging media,we discuss the strategy for systematical regulation of the discharge *** describe the applications of the microwave-metal discharge for facile synthesis of various functional nanomaterials including core-shell carbon/metal,metal oxides,metal chalcogenides,intermetallic compounds,metallic nanoparticles and metallic compounds,and organic ***,the challenges in precise characterization and dynamic regulation of the discharge process as well as exciting application opportunities are discussed.

Adaptive observer-based integral event-triggered antivibration control of a full aircraft active landing gear system with irregular runway excitations

This study addresses the antivibration issue of a full aircraft active landing gear system(LGS)under landing impact and runway excitations via a novel adaptive observer-based integral event-triggered control method. First, a full aircraft active LGS comprising a front gear and two synchronized main left and right gears with active suspensions is established, where the information exchange among them is not implemented directly. Second, two adaptive observers are designed separately for the front and main LGSs to identify the varying damping parameters and estimate the system states simultaneously. Third, estimated states are transmitted to a shared network through a novel integral event-triggered mechanism(I-ETM);thus, the front and main LGSs are interconnected, and a networked control scheme for the aircraft LGS is constructed. Additionally, the integrated active control law is designed with the aid of the transmitted states of the front and main LGSs, enhancing the robustness against the pitch vibration of the ***, the L2-stability of the hybrid system is guaranteed to depress the vertical vibration effect of the landing impact and irregular runway excitations, thus improving passenger safety and comfort. Moreover,a codesign method is provided to obtain feasible solutions to the gain matrices of the observers and controllers simultaneously. Simulation and comparison results are presented to illustrate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed control scheme in antivibration and saving communication resources.

Probiotics have great potential in regulating intestinal *** this study,the effects of Lactobacillus plantarum AR495 on the visceral sensitivity and gut microbiota of irritable bowel syndrome(IBS)rats were *** results showed that tryptase released after mast cell activation and degranulation plays a key role in visceral pain,and *** AR495 reduced the stimulation of colonic mast cells and the expression of protease-activated receptor 2(PAR2)and TRPV1 in dorsal root *** further showed that supplementation with *** AR495 increased the level of short-chain fatty acids(SCFAs)and enhanced the barrier function of the *** addition,the microbiota analysis of the colon indicated that *** AR495 promoted the proliferation of Bifidobacterium and inhibited the proliferation of Lachnospiraceae,which alleviated the imbalance of the intestinal microbiota caused by IBS to a certain *** total,*** AR495 might reduce visceral sensitivity through the Mast cell-PAR2-TRPV1 signaling pathway by maintaining the homeostasis of the intestinal barrier.

Superhydrophobic Co/Fe sulfide nanoparticles and single-atoms doped carbon nanosheets composite air cathode for high-performance zinc-air batteries

Development of a high-performance bifunctional catalyst is essential for the actual implementation of zinc-air batteries in practical ***,a bifunctional cathode of Co_(3)S_(4)/FeS heterogeneous nanoparticles embedded in Co/Fe single-atom-loaded nitrogen-doped carbon nanosheets is ***-iron sulfides and single atomic sites with Co-N_(4)/Fe-N_(4)configurations are confirmed to coexist on the carbon matrix by EXAFS spectroscopy.3D self-supported super-hydrophobic multiphase composite cathode provides abundant active sites and facilitates gas–liquid-solid three-phase interface reactions,resulting in excellent electrocatalytic activity and batteries performance,i.e.,an OER overpotential(η_(10))of 260 mV,a half-wave potential(E_(1/2))of 0.872 V for ORR,aΔE of 0.618 V,and a discharge power density of 170 mW cm^(−2),a specific capacity of 816.3 mAh g^(−1).DFT analysis shows multiphase coupling of sulfide heterojunction through single-atomic metal doped carbon nanosheets reduces offset on center of electronic density of states before and after oxygen adsorption,and spin density of adsorbed oxygen with same spin orientation,leading to weakened charge/spin interactions between adsorbed oxygen and substrate,and a lowered oxygen adsorption energy to accelerate OER/ORR.

B-COPNA resin formation from ethylene tar light fractions:Process development and mechanical exploration by molecular simulation

An efficient utilization strategy of ethylene tar(ET),the main by-product of the ethylene cracking unit,is urgently required to meet demands for modern petrochemical *** the other hand,condensed polynuclear aromatic resin of moderate condensation degree(B-COPNA)is a widely used carbon material due to its superb processability,the production of which is,however,seriously limited by the high cost of raw *** such context,an interesting strategy was proposed in this study for producing B-COPNA resin using crosslinked light fractions of ethylene tar(ETLF,boiling point<260℃)facilitated by molecular simulation.1,4-Benzenedimethanol(PXG)was first selected as the crosslinking agent according to the findings of molecular *** effects of operating conditions,including reactions temperature,crosslinking agent,and catalyst content on the softening point and yield of B-COPNA resin products were then investigated to optimize the *** reaction mechanism of resin production was studied by analyzing the molecular structure and transition state of ETLF and crosslinking *** was shown that PXG exhibited a superior capacity of withdrawing electrons and a higher electrophilic reactivity than other crosslinking *** addition to the highest yield and greatest heat properties,PXG-prepared resin contained the most condensed *** corresponding optimized conditions of resin preparation were 180℃,1:1.9(PXG:ETLF),and 3%(mass)of catalyst content with a resin yield of 78.57%.It was the electrophilic substitution reaction that occurred between the ETLF and crosslinking agent molecules that were responsible for the resin formation,according to the experimental characterization and molecular ***,it was confirmed that the proposed strategy and demonstrated process can achieve a clean and high value-added utilization of ETLF via B-COPNA resin preparation,bringing huge economic value to the current petrochemical industry.
