Recent advances in exploring new blood-based biomarkers for the early diagnosis of gastric cancer

Gastric cancer(GC) is a prevalent and lethal malignancy worldwide, and the 5-year survival rate is less than 30%. The absence of distinctive symptoms often leads to late-stage diagnosis, co.tributing to a grim prognosis. Early detection is pivotal for improving the survival rates and outco.es of GC patients. Traditional diagnostic methods, including gastrosco.y and histopathological examination, are restricted in the early diagnosis of GC. co.ventional protein biomarkers, such as carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA), carbohydrate antigen 19-9(CA19-9), and carbohydrate antigen 72-4(CA72-4), exhibit insufficient sensitivity and specificity for GC screening, which diminishes their clinical value. Recently, novel circulating biomarkers, such as circulating tumor cells(CTCs), circulating tumor cell DNA(ct DNA), and circulating free RNA(cf RNA), have emerged as promising candidates in the burgeoning field of liquid biopsy due to their superior sensitivity and specificity. This review focuses on the latest research on blood-based biomarkers for GC diagnosis and examines the clinical potentials and challenges associated with these emerging biomarkers.

Performance of Video Question and Answer(VQA)systems relies on capturing key information of both visual images and natural language in the co.text to generate relevant questions’***,traditional linear co.binations of multimodal features focus only on shallow feature interactions,fall far short of the need of deep feature *** mechanisms were used to perform deep fusion,but most of them can only process weight assignment of single-modal information,leading to attention imbalance for different *** address above problems,we propose a novel VQA model based on Triple Multimodal feature Cyclic Fusion(TMCF)and Self-AdaptiveMultimodal Balancing Mechanism(SAMB).Our model is designed to enhance co.plex feature interactions among multimodal features with cross-modal information *** addition,TMCF and SAMB can be used as an extensible plug-in for exploring new feature co.binations in the visual image *** experiments were co.ducted on MSVDQA and MSRVTT-QA *** results co.firm the advantages of our approach in handling multimodal ***,we also provide analyses for ablation studies to verify the effectiveness of each proposed co.ponent.

On the basis of the equation of the Fresnel-Kirchhoff scalar diffraction field,it is shown that theimpulse responses of parallel-fed aperture antennas of arbitrary co.figuration with arbitrary apertureamplitude distributions and those of end-fed rectangular aperture antennas with arbitrary apertureamplitude distributions can all be expressed by the aperture amplitude distributions,and that theimpulse responses of rectangular aperture antennas with separable aperture distributions and those ofcircular aperture antennas with circularly symmetric distributions are special cases of the abovegeneral ones.

This work deals with the nonlinear co.trol of a marine diesel engine by use of a robust intelligent co.trol strategy based on cerebellar model articulation co.troller （CMAC）. A mathematical model of diesel engine propulsion system is presented. In order to increase the accuracy of dynamical speed, the mathematical model of engagement process based on the law of energy co.servation is proposed. Then, a robust cerebellar model articulation co.troller is proposed for uncertain nonlinear systems. The co.cept of active disturbance rejection co.trol （ADRC） is adopted so that the proposed co.troller has more robustness against uncertainties. Finally, the proposed co.troller is applied to engine speed co.trol system. Both the model of the diesel engine propulsion system and of the co.trol law are validated by a virtual detailed simulation environment. The prediction capability of the model and the co.trol efficiency are clearly shown.

In the pathogenesis of major depressive disorder, chronic stress-related neuroinflammation hinders favorable prognosis and antidepressant response. Mitochondrial DNA may be an inflammatory trigger, after its release from stress-induced dysfunctional central nervous system mitochondria into peripheral circulation. This evidence supports the potential use of peripheral mitochondrial DNA as a neuroinflammatory biomarker for the diagnosis and treatment of major depressive disorder. Herein, we critically review the neuroinflammation theory in major depressive disorder, providing co.pelling evidence that mitochondrial DNA release acts as a critical biological substrate, and that it co.stitutes the neuroinflammatory disease pathway. After its release, mitochondrial DNA can be carried in the exosomes and transported to extracellular spaces in the central nervous system and peripheral circulation. Detectable exosomes render encaged mitochondrial DNA relatively stable. This mitochondrial DNA in peripheral circulation can thus be directly detected in clinical practice. These characteristics illustrate the potential for mitochondrial DNA to serve as an innovative clinical biomarker and molecular treatment target for major depressive disorder. This review also highlights the future potential value of clinical applications co.bining mitochondrial DNA with a panel of other biomarkers, to improve diagnostic precision in major depressive disorder.

An improved numerical method is used to simulate the dynamic behavior of a two part towing cable systems during turnings. In U turns and full turns, periodical heave motions are found both for the towed vehicle and for the depressor. Periodic motions of the subsea units and of the cable surface tension are closely related to the turning parameters, such as turning velocity and turning radius. System parameters, such as length of the seco.d cable and the vehicle bydrodynamics, also damp turning instability.
