Influence of syngas components and ash particles on the radiative heat transfer in a radiant syngas cooler

Radiant syngas cooler(RSC)is widely used as a waste heat recovery equipment in industrial *** this work,an RSC with radiation screens is established and the impact of gaseous radiative property models,gas components,and ash particles on heat transfer is investigated by the numerical simulation *** the syngas components and the pressure environment of the RSC,a modified weighted-sum-of-gray-gases model was *** modified model shows high accuracy in *** computational fluid dynamics simulation,the calculated steam production is only 0.63%in error with the industrial *** with Smith's model,the temperature decay along the axial direction calculated by the modified model is *** components are of great significance to heat recovery capacity,especially when the absorbing gas fraction is less than 10%.After considering the influence of particles,the outlet temperature and the proportion of radiative heat transfer are less affected,but the difference in steam output reaches 2.7 t·h^(-1).The particle deposition on the wall greatly reduces the heat recovery performance of an RSC.

Mineralization has found widespread use in the fabrication of composite biomaterials for hard tissue *** current mineralization processes are mainly carried out in neutral aqueous solutions of biomineral counter-ions(a pair of cation and anion that form the corresponding minerals at certain conditions),which are stable only at very low *** typically results in inefficient mineralization and weak control over biomineral ***,we find that,in the organic solvent glycerol,a variety of biomineral counter-ions(e.g.,Ca/PO_(4),Ca/CO_(3),Ca/SO_(4),Mg/PO_(4),or Fe/OH)corresponding to distinct biominerals at significantly high concentrations(up to hundreds-fold greater than those of simulated body fluid(SBF))are able to form translucent and stable solutions(mineralizing solution of highly concentrated counter-ions(MSCIs)),and mineralization can be triggered upon them with external solvents(e.g.,water or ethanol).Furthermore,with pristine bacterial cellulose(BC)membrane as a model,we demonstrate an effective and controllable mineralization performance of MSCIs on organic *** approach not only forms the homogeneous biominerals on the BC fibers and in the interspaces,but also provides regulations over mineralization rate,mineral content,phase,and *** resulting mineralized BC membranes(MBCs)exhibit high cytocompatibility and favor the proliferation of rat bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(rBMSC).Following this,we prepare a mineralized bone suture(MBS)from MBC for non-weight bearing bone fixation,which then is tested on a rabbit median sternotomy *** shows firm fixation of the rabbit sternum without causing discernible toxicity or inflammatory *** study,by extending the mineralization to the organic solution system of highly concentrated counter-ions,develops a promising strategy to design and build targeted mineral-based composites.

The second-to-fourth digit(2D:4D)ratio is thought to be associated with prenatal androgen ***,the relationship between the 2D:4D ratio and hypospadias is poorly understood,and its molecular mechanism is not *** this study,by analyzing the hand digit length of 142 boys with hypospadias(23 distal,68 middle,and 51 proximal)and 196 controls enrolled in shanghai Children’s Hospital(shanghai,China)from December 2020 to December 2021,we found that the 2D:4D ratio was significantly increased in boys with hypospadias(Pmodel obtained by knocking out the risk gene(dynein axonemal heavy chain 8[DNAH8])associated with ***,the discrepancy was mainly caused by a shift in *** characterization of a mouse model validated that low testosterone levels during pregnancy can impair the growth and development of *** mechanistic explorations revealed that during the androgen-sensitive window,the downregulation of the androgen receptor(AR)caused by low testosterone levels,as well as the suppressed expression of chondrocyte proliferation-related genes such as Wnt family member 5a(Wnt5a),Wnt5b,Smad family member 2(Smad2),and Smad3;mitochondrial function-related genes in cartilage such as AMP-activated protein kinase(AMPK)and nuclear respiratory factor 1(Nrf-1);and vascular development-related genes such as myosin light chain(MLC),notch receptor 3(Notch3),and sphingosine kinase 1(Sphk1),are responsible for the limitation of 4D growth,which results in a higher 2D:4D ratio in boys with hypospadias via decreased endochondral *** study indicates that the ratio of 2D:4D is a risk marker of hypospadias and provides a potential molecular mechanism.

Association between physical activity and risk of gastroesophageal reflux disease:A systematic review and meta-analysis

Background:Lifestyle plays an important role in preventing and managing gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD).In response to the conflicting results in previous studies,we performed a systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate this ***:Relevant studies published until January 2023 were retrieved from 6 databases,and the prevalence of symptomatic gastroesophageal reflux(GER)or GERD was determined from the original studies.A random effects model was employed to meta-analyze the association by computing the pooled relative risk(RR)with 95%confidence intervals(95%CIs).Furthermore,subgroup and dose-response analyses were performed to explore subgroup differences and the association between cumulative physical activity(PA)time and ***:This meta-analysis included 33 studies comprising 242,850 participants.A significant negative association was observed between PA and the prevalence of symptomatic GER(RR=0.74,95%CI:0.66-0.83;p<0.01)or GERD(RR=0.80,95%CI:0.76-0.84;p<0.01),suggesting that engaging in PA might confer a protective benefit against *** analyses consistently indicated the presence of this association across nearly all subgroups,particularly among the older individuals(RR_(<40 years):RR_(≥40 years)=0.85:0.69,p<0.01)and smokers(RR_(smoker):RR_(non-smoker)=0.67:0.82,p=0.03).Furthermore,a dose-response analysis revealed that individuals who engaged in 150 min of PA per week had a 72.09%lower risk of developing ***:Maintaining high levels of PA decreased the risk of GERD,particularly among older adults and *** the recommended PA level of 150 min per week may significantly decrease the prevalence of GERD.

The famous zero-knowledge succinct non-interactive arguments of knowledge(zk-SNARK) was proposed by Groth in ***, the construction is based on quadratic arithmetic programs which are highly efficient concerning the proof length and the verification complexity. Since then, there has been much progress in designing zk-SNARKs, achieving stronger security,and simulated extractability, which is analogous to non-malleability and has broad applications. In this study, following Groth's pairing-based zk-SNARK, a simulation extractability zk-SNARK under the random oracle model is constructed. Our construction relies on a newly proposed property named target linearly collision-resistant, which is satisfied by random oracles under discrete logarithm assumptions. Compared to the original Groth16 zk-SNARK, in our construction, both parties are allowed to use such a random oracle, aiming to get the same random number. The resulting proof consists of 3 group elements and only 1 pairing equation needs to be verified. Compared to other related works, our construction is shorter in proof length and simpler in verification while preserving simulation extractability. The results also extend to achieve subversion zero-knowledge SNARKs.

Charge-based studies,in particular investigations of mass distribution,are still almost absent,although the efficiency of the organic Rankine cycle(ORC)has attracted a great deal of scholarly *** paper aims to provide a new perspective on the intrinsic relationship among the mass distribution,phase-zone distribution in the heat exchanger(HEX),charge of working fuid(WF),rotation speed of the pump(RSP),and system performance.A comprehensive ORC simulation model is presented by linking each component's sub-models,including the independent models for HEX,pump,and expander in an object-oriented *** visualization study of mass distribution of the WF in the system is investigated under different working ***,the volume and mass of the gas phase,two-phase and liquid phase of WF in the HEX and their variation rules are analyzed ***,the strategies of charge reduction considering HEX areas and pipe sizes are *** results show that the model based on the interior-point method provides high levels of accuracy and *** mass ratio of the WF is concentrated in the liquid receiver,especially in the regenerator,which is 32.9%and 21.9%of the total mass,***,2.4 kg(6.9%)WF in the system gradually migrates to the high-temperature side as the RSP increases while 6.1 kg(17.4%)WF migrates to the low-temperature side,especially to the condenser,as the charge in the system *** power and efficiency both decrease gradually after the peak due to changes in RSP and ***,reducing heat transfer areas of the condenser and regenerator is the most effective way to reduce WF charge.
