To better understand the migration behavior of plastic fragments in the environment,development of rapid non-destructive methods for in-situ identification and characterization of plastic fragments is ***,most of the studies had focused only on colored plastic fragments,ignoring colorless plastic fragments and the effects of different environmental media(backgrounds),thus underestimating their *** address this issue,the present study used near-infrared spectroscopy to compare the identification of colored and colorless plastic fragments based on partial least squares-discriminant analysis(PLS-DA),extreme gradient boost,support vector machine and random forest *** effects of polymer color,type,thickness,and background on the plastic fragments classification were ***-DA presented the best and most stable outcome,with higher robustness and lower misclassification *** models frequently misinterpreted colorless plastic fragments and its background when the fragment thickness was less than 0.1mm.A two-stage modeling method,which first distinguishes the plastic types and then identifies colorless plastic fragments that had been misclassified as background,was *** method presented an accuracy higher than 99%in different *** summary,this study developed a novel method for rapid and synchronous identification of colored and colorless plastic fragments under complex environmental backgrounds.

A mixed oxidant of chlorine dioxide(ClO_(2))and NaClO was often used in water treatment.A novel UVA-LED(_(365) nm)-activated mixed ClO_(2)/NaClO process was proposed for the degradation of micropollutants in this ***(CBZ)was selected as the target *** with the UVA_(365)/ClO_(2) process,the UVA_(365)/ClO_(2)/NaClO process can improve the degradation of CBZ,with the rate constant increasing from 2.11×10^(−4) sec^(−1) to 2.74×10^(−4) sec^(−1).In addition,the consumption of oxidants in the UVA_(365)/ClO_(2)/NaClO process(73.67%)can also be lower than that of UVA_(365)/NaClO(86.42%).When the NaClO ratio increased,both the degradation efficiency of CBZ and the consumption of oxidants can increase in the UVA_(365)/ClO_(2)/NaClO *** solution pH can affect the contribution of NaClO in the total oxidant *** the pH range of 6.0-8.0,the combination process can generate more active species to promote the degradation of *** change of active species with oxidant molar ratio was investigated in the UVA_(365)/ClO_(2)/NaClO *** ClO_(2) acted as the main oxidant,HO·and Cl·were the main active species,while when NaClO was the main oxidant,ClO·played a role in the *** chloride ion(Cl^(-)),bicarbonate ion(HCO_(3)^(-)),and nitrate ion(NO_(3)^(-))can promote the reaction *** the concentration of NaClO in the reaction solution increased,the generation of chlorates will *** UVA_(365)/ClO_(2)/NaClO process can effectively control the formation of volatile disinfection by-products(DBPs),and with the increase of ClO_(2) dosage,the formation of DBPs can also decrease.

Ultrasonic humidifiers are commonly used in households to maintain indoor humidity and generate a large number of droplets or spray ***,there have been various health concerns associated with humidifier use,largely due to aerosols generated during ***,we investigated the size distribution,chemical composition,and charged fraction of aerosol particles emitted from commercial ultrasonic *** metals in water used for humidifiers were found to be highly enriched in the ultrasonic humidifier aerosols(UHA),with the enrichment factors ranging from 102 to *** enrichment may pose health concerns for the building occupants,as UHA concentrations of up to 106 particles/cm^(3) or 3 mg/m^(3) were ***,approximately 90%of UHA were observed to be electrically charged,for the first time according to our *** on this discovery,we proposed and tested a newmethod to remove UHA by using a simple electrical *** designed electrical field in this work can efficiently remove 81.4%of ***,applying this electrical field could be an effective method to significantly reduce the health risks by UHA.

Experimental Study on Diesel Spray and Flame Asymmetry Characteristics of Dual-Orifice Nozzles for a Medium-Speed Engine

The asymmetry of the multi-orifice spray will cause uneven heat load of the marine diesel engine,thereby affecting its working performance and service ***,an in-depth understanding of the spray and flame characteristics of multi-orifice nozzles will guide the optimization of the nozzle structure,needle design and diesel atomization and combustion *** this reason,four groups of dual-orifice nozzles with different hole diameters(0.1-0.55 mm)and mass flow rates covering the typical marine medium-speed diesel injections are designed and customized,and the constant volume chamber(CVC)with high temperature and pressure is used to simulate the actual in-cylinder working conditions of the diesel engine for the spray visualization *** study the asymmetry of the fuel sprays discharged from a diesel injector,the multi-orifice nozzle is simplified as a dual-orifice nozzle in this *** with X-ray Computed Tomography(CT)imaging technology,the influences of the nozzle internal structure on the spray and flame asymmetry are studied in the constructed supercritical *** is found that the asymmetry of the inlet angle and the equivalent length-diameter ratio is positively correlated with the inconsistency of the dual *** an increase in the injection pressure and nozzle diameter,the asymmetry of the dual spray becomes more pronounced,resulting in greater disparities in the ignition delay times and ignition positions of the two ***,the increase in nozzle diameter also leads to combustion instability,resulting in a flame with a serrated *** the increase of ambient temperature,the proportion of liquid phase in the jet decreases and the relative density of spray front decreases.

In the face of data scarcity in the optimization of maintenance strategies for civil aircraft,traditional failure data-driven methods are encountering challenges owing to the increasing reliability of aircraft *** study addresses this issue by presenting a novel combined data fusion algorithm,which serves to enhance the accuracy and reliability of failure rate analysis for a specific aircraft model by integrating historical failure data from similar models as supplementary *** a comprehensive analysis of two different maintenance projects,this study illustrates the application process of the *** upon the analysis results,this paper introduces the innovative equal integral value method as a replacement for the conventional equal interval method in the context of maintenance schedule *** Monte Carlo simulation example validates that the equivalent essential value method surpasses the traditional method by over 20%in terms of inspection efficiency *** discovery indicates that the equal critical value method not only upholds maintenance efficiency but also substantially decreases workload and maintenance *** findings of this study open up novel perspectives for airlines grappling with data scarcity,offer fresh strategies for the optimization of aviation maintenance practices,and chart a new course toward achieving more efficient and cost-effective maintenance schedule optimization through refined data analysis.

Poly(butylene succinate-co-furandicarboxylate)(PBSF)and poly(butylene adipateco-furandicarboxylate)(PBAF)are novel furandicarboxylic acid-based biodegradable copolyesters with great potential to replace fossil-derived terephthalic acid-based copolyesters such as poly(butylene succinate-co-terephthalate)(PBST)and poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate)(PBAT).In this study,quantum chemistry techniques after molecular dynamics simulations are employed to investigate the degradationmechanism of PBSF and PBAF catalyzed by Candida antarctica lipase B(CALB).Computational analysis indicates that the catalytic reaction follows a four-step mechanism resembling the ping-pong bibi mechanism,with the initial two steps being acylation reactions and the subsequent two being hydrolysis ***,the first step of the hydrolysis is identified as the rate-determining ***,by introducing single-point mutations to expand the substrate entrance tunnel,the catalytic distance of the first acylation step ***,energy barrier of the rate-determining step is decreased in the PBSF system by site-directed mutations on key residues increasing hydrophobicity of the enzyme’s active *** study unprecedently show the substrate binding pocket and hydrophobicity of the enzyme’s active site have the potential to be engineered to enhance the degradation of copolyesters catalyzed by CALB.

Aqueous Zn-ion batteries have attracted much attention due to their unique high safety and low-cost ***,their practical applications are at a slow pace due to their short cycle life,which fundamentally results from the instability of the positive/negative electrode interface in the traditional dilute aqueous electrolytes with high water *** highly concentrated electrolyte（HCE）has been considered as an effective *** previous studies of single salt-based HCE（SSHCE）,herein,a new dual-salt HCE（15 m ZnCl2+10 m NH4NH2SO3DS-HCE） was proposed for the first ***-HCE was proven to simultaneously possess higher conductivity than traditional dilute electrolytes and ultralow water activity of SS-HCE by the regulation of dual high-concentration salts on the solvation structure,which renders the Zn‖Zn symmetric cell the record-long cycling life of 2200 h compared with those with SS-HCE（30 m ZnCl2,300 h） and other reported ***,the Zn‖NH4V4O10full cell with DS-HCE demonstrated impressed rate capability within a wide-range current densities from 0.1 to 10 A ***,at the high current density of 5 A g-1,the full cell shows almost100% capacity retention after 4000 cycles,which indicates the promising future of the DS-HCE system for long-duration aqueous Zn-ion batteries.

The stability of matrix graphite under neutron irradiation and in corrosive environments is crucial for the safe operation of molten salt reactors(MSRs).Raman spectroscopy and a slow positron beam were employed to investigate the effects of He ion irradiation fluences and subsequent annealing on the microstructure and defects of the matrix *** ions with 500 keV energy and fluences ranging from 1.1×10^(15)ions∕cm^(2)to 3.5×10^(17)ions∕cm^(2)were used to simulate neutron irradiation at 300 *** samples with an irradiation fluence of 3.5×10^(16)ions∕cm^(2)were subjected to isochronal annealing at different temperatures(573 K,873 K and 1173 K)for 3 *** Raman results revealed that the D peak gradually increased,whereas the intrinsic G peak decreased with increasing irradiation *** the same irradiation fluence,the D peak gradually decreased,whereas the intrinsic G peak increased with increasing annealing *** positron beam analysis demonstrated that the density or size of irradiation defects(vacancy type)increased with higher irradiation fluence,but decreased rapidly with increasing annealing *** Raman spectral analysis of sample cross sections subjected to high irradiation fluences revealed the emergence of amorphization precisely at the depth where ion damage was most pronounced,whereas the surface retained its crystalline *** and positron annihilation analyses indicated that the matrix graphite exhibited good irradiation resistance to He ions at 300 ***,vacancy-type defects induced by He ion irradiation exhibit poor thermal stability and can be easily removed during annealing.
