The human brain is the most complicated and fascinated system and executes various important brain functions, but its underlying mechanism is a long-standing problem. In recent years, based on the progress of complex network science, much attention has been paid to this problem and many important results have been achieved, thus it is the time to make a summary to help further studies. For this purpose, we here make a brief but comprehensive review on those results from the aspect of brain networks, i.e., from the angle of synchronization and complex network. First, we briefly discuss the main features of human brain and its cognitive functions through synchronization. Then, we discuss how to construct both the anatomical and functional brain networks, including the pathological brain networks such as epilepsy and Alzheimer’s diseases. Next, we discuss the approaches of studying brain networks. After that, we discuss the current progress of understanding the mechanisms of brain functions, including the aspects of chimera state, remote synchronization, explosive synchronization, intelligence quotient, and remote propagation. Finally, we make a brief discussion on the envision of future study.

Background Antibiotics,a common strategy used for neonatal infection,show consistent effect on the gut microbiota of *** with probiotics has become increasingly popular in mitigating the loss of the gut ***,no clear consensus recommending the use of probiotics in the infection of neonates currently *** study examined the effects of probiotics on the gut microbiota of infectious neonates when used concurrently with or during the recovery period following antibiotic *** Fifty-five full-term neonates diagnosed with neonatal infections were divided into the following groups:NI(no intervention,antibiotic therapy only),PCA(probiotics used concurrently with antibiotics),and PAA(probiotics used after antibiotics).The NI group received antibiotic treatment(piperacillin–tazobactam)for 1 week and the PCA group received antibiotic treatment together with probiotics(Bifidobacterium longum,Lactobacillus acidophilus,and Enterococcus faecalis)for 1 *** PAA group received antibiotic treatment for 1 week followed by probiotics for 1 *** samples were collected at four time nodes:newborn,1 week,2 weeks,and 42 days after *** composition of the gut microbiota was determined by the high-throughput sequencing of 16S rRNA *** Antibiotic exposure was found to dramatically alter gut microbiota,with a significant decrease of Bifidobacterium and *** use of probiotics did not restore the overall diversity of the gut ***,using probiotics simultaneously with the antibiotics was found to be beneficial for the gut microbiota as compared to delaying the use of probiotics to follow treatment with antibiotics,particularly in promoting the abundance of *** These results suggest that the early use of probiotics may have a potential ability to remodel the gut microbiota during recovery from antibiotic ***,further study is required to fully understand th

Synchronization in a frequency-weighted Kuramoto model with a uniform frequency distribution is studied. We plot the bifurcation diagram and identify the asymptotic coherent states. Numerical simulations show that the system undergoes two first-order transitions in both the forward and back- ward directions. Apart from the trivial phase-locked state, a novel nonstationary coherent state, i.e., a nontrivial standing wave state is observed and characterized. In this state, oscillators inside the coherent clusters are not frequency-locked as they would be in the usual standing wave state. Instead, their average frequencies are locked to a constant. The critical coupling strength from the incoherent state to the nontrivial standing wave state can be obtained by performing linear stability analysis. The theoretical results are supported by the numerical simulations.

Triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)has attracted considerable attention in wearable electronics and energy harvesting associated with human ***/yarn electrodes are widely applied in the wearable TENG system,which remains a challenge to guarantee mechanical ductility and stable electrical functions during long-term *** by high quality violin strings core-sheath design,silk/stainless-steel integrated yarns(SSYs)are continuously produced by simple co-wrapping spinning technique,which shows excellent mechanical strength,flexibility,conductivity,weaveability and triboelectric *** SSYs can be modified to achieve tunable surface ***,TENG cables have been fabricated,which can be stretched up to 100%and reveal a fast responsiveness to the stretching extent(voltage output of about 0.2,0.6,1.8,2.8 V at 13%,25%,38%,50%stretching,respectively).The TENG cables integrated textiles can not only harvest the energy generated by body movement but can also work as a self-supplied motion detector.

Yarn-based strain sensors(YSSs)have shown great promising in the fabrication of wearable devices for their good comfortability and fexible ***,the false signals generated by the changes in the yarn structure of the YSSs are usually *** this study,the generation,the characteristic,and the prediction of these signals were *** recognized that these signals are composed of two negative pseudo peaks and a spurious resistance response *** responses are found to have nothing in common with a true tensile strain,but be attributed to plastic deformation of the *** is due to the fact that the deformation of YSSs exceeds the linear elastic range of the *** the use of pure elastic fbers can eliminate the spurious resistance response plateau,it will lead to an increase in the pseudo peak to the value compared with a true strain signal ***,a theoretical model was established to decouple the real signals from the false responses,ensuring the high sensing accuracy of YSSs for applications in wearable devices and artifcial intelligence *** work provides an in-depth understanding of the response of the YSSs,which might provide inspiration and guidance in the design of high-accuracy fber-based strain sensors.
