The fluctuating pressures on the surface of three circular cylinders in equispaced arrangement were measured simultaneously in the medium subcritical regime (Re=3×104). The distributions of their rms values and circumferential correlation were obtained in the spacing range from 1.25 to 6.0. The spatial correlation of pressures of two pressure taps on two different cylinders at the same azimuth was investigated as well. Owing to different flow patterns in various arrangements and spacing, these correlation curves of pressure show different distributions. The lift fluctuation can be estimated qualitatively from the circumferential coefficient curve with the knowledge of the rms pressure distribution. Some critical spacing for each arrangement were found that the flow regimes and the corresponding pressure correlation take a sudden change. Flow interference between cylinders in each arrangement was also discussed with various flow regimes.

In this paper,the free vibration of cylindrical sheel with ring-stiffeners is studied indetail by using the PLK method in singular perturbation and the general Hale’s law, and theformulas calculating natural frequencies of cylindrical sheel with ring-stiffeners ***,the FEM solution is also given to prove the perturbation solution to beseemly,and this comparison shows that the method yields very good results.

In this paper, the turbulence characteristics were numerically investigatedin an asymmetric turbulent channel flow and the computational results were compared with therelevant experimental data. It shows that the results are consistent with the experiments and thereexist Counter-Gradient Momentum Transport (CGMT) phenomena in the central region near the smoothwall, and this region is as large as 6 percent of the channel width. In addition, a region, in whichCounter-Gradient-Transport (CGT) phenomena occur more evidently, is found close to the rough *** results can help to gain a deeper insight into the mech.nism of CGT phenomena.

WT5”BZ]The diffusion characteristics of the high concentration jet flow issued from a round nozzle above the free surface into moving waterbody were experimentally investigated. By means of flow visualization technique, the diffusion behavior of the high concentration jet was observed and analysed, Concentration distribution in the near region was obtained by sampling and quantitative measurements. Experimental results indicate that the diffusion mech.nics of the high concentration jet flow are greatly influenced by initial momentum, buoyancy, turbulent structure, ambient current and boundary conditions, showing complicated flow patterns and concentration distribution characteristics that are different from previous results for submerged jets. This paper presents a curvilinear boundary quadrilateral element for the problem of thin plate of bending with curvilinear boundary. A coordinate transformation of two dimensions is performed in the calculation of FEM. The introduction of an additional stiffness matrix based on the generalized variational principles results in high accuracy and less computation time. The numerical results agree with the analytical solution very well.

In this paper,a new analysing method called perturbational finite element is suggested,by means of which we calculate the dynamic behaviour and response to turbulent wind ofhyperbolic cooling tower shell with *** results are compared with those offinite element numerical method and show that the method has the advantages of clearphysical idea and convenience of calculation and the accuracy of results is assured.
