The Arctic is a region of major significance in the Earth system,particularly important for global climate and international maritime *** human activity,relying on manufactured equipment,steadily increases in the Arctic,technological innovations for marine equipment must support the gradually more stringent requirements for future Arctic *** this review,four categories of innovations are analyzed,namely:innovations driven by traditional thinking,innovations for environmental protection,innovations for practical application,and innovations for observing information *** examples of international regulations,the Polar Code(adopted in 2014)and the international Standard for Arctic offshore structures of the international Organization for Standardization(ISO 19906,first published in 2010),are selected to illustrate successful international cooperation efforts for Arctic marine *** work provides a basis for discussion on technology development,governance efficiency,and international cooperation in the Arctic.

This article mainly focuses on China’s role in Arctic governance through analysis of China’s stance in Arctic affairs with the explanation why China holds such *** on this it has a case study of China’s reaction during United States Arctic Council chairmanship from 2015 to 2017 to further exam the China’s role. According to the argument of the article there are three parts in China’s stance in Arctic governance that is part of global governance China has already participated in,which include recognizing and respecting the rights of the countries in the region,contending China to have the responsibility to provide public goods in Arctic governance,and considering the scientific research in the Arctic being a priority of China’s participation in Arctic governance. With such stance it is quite easy to understand that addressing climate change is the main area that China will co- operate with United States in Arctic governance in United States Arctic Council Chairmanship from 2015 to2017. Besides the climate change area China will also cooperate with United States in improving economic and living conditions in Arctic communities and in Arctic Ocean safety,security and stewardship fairly actively because all of these are part of Arctic governance.

Food consumption is necessary for human *** a global scale,the greenhouse gas(GHG)emission related to food consumption accounts for 19%–29%of the total GHG *** has the largest population in the world,which is experiencing a rapid *** the background of urbanization and the adjustment of the diet structure of Chinese residents,it is critical to mitigate the overall GHG emission caused by food *** study aims to employ a single-region input-output(SRIO)model and a multi-regional input-output(MRIO)model to measure GHG emission generated from food consumption in China and compare the contributions of different industrial sectors,uncovering the differences between urban and rural residents and among different provinces(autonomous regions/municipalities),as well as identifying the driving forces of GHG emission from food consumption at a national *** results indicate that the total GHG emission generated from food consumption in China tripled from 157 Mt CO_(2)e in 2002 to 452 Mt CO_(2)e in *** fastest growing GHG emission is from the consumption of other processed food and meat *** GHG emissions from both urban and rural residents increased,the gap between them is ***,processing and manufacture of food,manufacture of chemical and transportation,storage and post services sectors are key sectors inducing food consumption related GHG *** a regional perspective,the top five emission provinces(autonomous regions/municipalities)include Shandong,Hubei,Guangdong,Zhejiang,and *** on such results,policy recommendations are proposed to mitigate the overall GHG emission from food consumption.

Medicinal plants or Chinese materia medica(CMM)are now attracting worldwide attention as they have increasingly prominent advantages over chemical drugs in disease treatment and *** the 1990s,World Health Organization(WHO)and international Organization for Standardization established the Technical Committee of Traditional Chinese Medicine(ISO/TC 249)have carried out the development of quality standards on medicinal plants or CMMs respectively,and a considerable number of monographs and international standards have been *** the two international organizations adhere to different principles,the standards they develop naturally have different *** by market demand and international trade,ISO mainly takes quality,efficacy and safety into consideration when developing standards,while WHO pays more attention to clinical practice,quality control and medication *** to now,there is a lack of comparative analysis on the records,background,principles,basic content,and main requirements of quality standards on medicinal plants or CMMs respectively published by WHO and ***,based on international standards of CMM developed by ISO/TC 249 platform and WHO Monographs on Selected Medicinal Plants,this paper systematically compares the purposes,selected principles,standard-developing process,basic content,and main quality requirements to summarize their similarities and differences,and find their merits,aiming to serve as a reference to the development of international standards for CMMs that helps them go global.

The weather conditions of the summer of 2022 were very unusual,particularly in Eastern Asia,Europe,and North *** devasting impact of climate change has come to our attention,with much hotter and drier conditions,and with more frequent and intense flooding *** extreme events have reached a dangerous level,increasingly threatening human *** interconnected risks caused by these extreme disaster events are triggering a chain effect,forcing us to respond to these crises through changes in our living environment,which affect the atmosphere,the biosphere,the economy including the availability of energy,our cities,and our global ***,we have to confront the abnormal consequences of untypical,rapid changes of extreme events and fast switches between extreme states,such as from severe drought to devastating *** this new situation,it is crucial to improve the adaptation capacity of our societies in order to reduce the risks associated with climate change,and to develop smarter strategies for climate ***-quality development must be science-based,balanced,safe,sustainable,and climate-resilient,supported by the collaborative governance of climate mitigation and *** article provides some recommendations and suggestions for resilience building and collaborative governance with respect to climate adaptation in response to a new planetary state that is characterized by more frequent and severe extreme weather events.
