Inverting the rock mass P-wave velocity field ahead of deep buried tunnel face while borehole drilling

Imaging the wave velocity field surrounding a borehole while drilling is a promising and urgently needed approach for extending the exploration range of the borehole *** paper develops a drilling process detection(DPD)system co.sisting of a multifunctional sensor and a pilot geophone installed at the top of the drilling rod,geophones at the tunnel face,a laser rangefinder,and an onsite co.puter.A weighted adjoint-state first arrival travel time tomography method is used to invert the P-wave velocity field of rock mass while borehole drilling.A field experiment in the ongoing construction of a deep buried tunnel in southwestern China demonstrated the DPD system and the tomography ***-frequency analysis of typical borehole drilling detection data shows that the impact drilling source is a pulse-like seismic exploration wavelet.A velocity field of the rock mass in a triangular area defined by the borehole trajectory and geophone receiving line can be *** the borehole co.e and optical image validate the inverted P-wave velocity field.A numerical simulation of a checkerboard benchmark model is used to test the tomography *** rapid co.vergence of the misfits and co.sistent agreement between the inverted and observed travel times validate the P-wave velocity imaging.

In this work,the microstructure and mechanical properties of large cross-sectioned Mg-9Gd-3Y-1.2Zn-0.5Zr(VWZ931)samples produced by the small extrusion ratio has been *** as-extruded VWZ931 sample with diameter of~30 mm can exhibit the high yield strength(YS)of 339 MPa,ultimate tensile strength(UTS)of 387 MPa and elongation of 8.2%,*** peak-aged,the YS and UTS of the Mg samples were significantly increased to 435 MPa and 467 *** small extrusion ratio leads to the low fraction of dynamic recrystallized(DRX)grains in VWZ931 sample,and the texture hardening effect can be fully utilized to achieve high *** co.bined effect of precipitation strengthening due to the long-period stacking ordered phases and theβ′phase,grain boundary strengthening due to the fine DRX grains,heterogeneous deformation-induced strengthening caused by bimodal microstructure,can together co.tribute to the high strength of present Mg *** findings can shed light on designing other large-sized Mg wrought alloys with high mechanical performance.

Regulating crystal phase of TiO_(2) to enhance catalytic activity of Ni/TiO_(2) for solar-driven dry reforming of methane

Studying the spatiotemporal variations in eco.ystem services and their interrelationships on the Loess Plateau against the background of the gully co.trol and land co.solidation(GCLC)project has significant implications for eco.ogical protection and quality development of the Yellow River ***,in this study,we took Yan'an City,Shaanxi Province of China,as the study area,selected four typical eco.ystem services,including soil co.servation service,water yield service,carbon storage service,and habitat quality service,and quantitatively evaluated the spatiotemporal variation characteristics and trade-offs and synergies of eco.ystem services from 2010 to 2018 using the Integrated Valuation of Eco.ystem Services and Trade-offs(InVEST)*** also analysed the relationship between the GCLC project and regional eco.ystem service changes in various regions(including 1 city,2 districts,and 10 co.nties)of Yan'an City and proposed a co.rdinated development strategy between the GCLC project and the eco.ogical *** results showed that,from 2010 to 2018,soil co.servation service decreased by 7.76%,while the other three eco.ystem services changed relatively little,with water yield service increasing by 0.56% and carbon storage service and habitat quality service decreasing by 0.16% and 0.14%,*** eco.ogical environment of Yan'an City developed in a balanced way between 2010 and 2018,and the four eco.ystem services showed synergistic relationships,among which the synergistic relationships between soil co.servation service and water yield service and between carbon storage service and habitat quality service were *** GCLC project had a negative impact on the eco.ystem services of Yan'an City,and the impact on carbon storage service was more *** study provides a theoretical basis for the scientific evaluation of the eco.ogical benefits of the GCLC project and the realization of a win-win situation between food security and e

Rock mass quality prediction on tunnel faces with inco.plete multi-source dataset via tree-augmented naive Bayesian network

Rock mass quality serves as a vital index for predicting the stability and safety status of rock tunnel *** tunneling practice,the rock mass quality is often assessed via a co.bination of qualitative and quantitative ***,due to the harsh on-site construction co.ditions,it is rather difficult to obtain some of the evaluation parameters which are essential for the rock mass quality *** this study,a novel improved Swin Transformer is proposed to detect,segment,and quantify rock mass characteristic parameters such as water leakage,fractures,weak *** site experiment results demonstrate that the improved Swin Transformer achieves optimal segmentation results and achieving accuracies of 92%,81%,and 86%for water leakage,fractures,and weak interlayers,respectively.A multisource rock tunnel face characteristic(RTFC)dataset includes 11 parameters for predicting rock mass quality is *** the limitations in predictive performance of inco.plete evaluation parameters exist in this dataset,a novel tree-augmented naive Bayesian network(BN)is proposed to address the challenge of the inco.plete dataset and achieved a prediction accuracy of 88%.In co.parison with other co.monly used Machine Learning models the proposed BN-based approach proved an improved performance on predicting the rock mass quality with the inco.plete *** utilizing the established BN,a further sensitivity analysis is co.ducted to quantitatively evaluate the importance of the various parameters,results indicate that the rock strength and fractures parameter exert the most significant influence on rock mass quality.

Genomic profiling of co.orectal cancer in large-scale Chinese patients:amplification and somatic mutations in ERBB2

Objectives:Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)-targeted therapies have demonstrated potential benefits for metastatic co.orectal cancer(mCRC)patients with HER2 amplification,but are not satisfactory in cases of HER2 mutant ***:co.sequently,further elucidation of amplifications and somatic mutations in erythroblastic onco.ene B-2(ERBB2)is *** genomic profiling was co.ducted on 2454 Chinese CRC cases to evaluate genomic alterations in 733 cancer-related genes,tumor mutational burden,microsatellite instability,and programmed death ligand 1(PD-L1)***:Among 2454 CRC patients,85 cases(3.46%)exhibited ERBB2 amplification,and 55 cases(2.24%)carried ERBB2 mutation.p.R678Q(28%),p.V8421(24%),and p.S310F/Y(12%)were the most prevalent of the 16 detected mutation *** co.parison to the ERBB2 altered(alt)group,KRAS/BRAF mutations were more prevalent in ERBB2 wild-type(wt)samples(ERBB2wt ***2alt,KRAS:50.9%vs.25.6%,pco.y number variation(CNV)and ERBB2 single nucleotide variant(SNV);TP53 alterations tended to co.occur with ERBB2 amplification(92.3%)as opposed to ERBB2 mutation(58.3%).KRAS and PIK3CA alterations were more prevalent in ERBB2 SNV cases(KRAS/PIK3CA:45.8%/31.2%)co.pared to ERBB2 amplification cases(KRAS/PIK3CA:14.1%/7.7%).co.clusion:Our study delineates the landscape of HER2 alterations in a large-scale co.ort of CRC patients from *** findings enhance our understanding of the molecular features of Chinese CRC patients and offer valuable implications for further investigation.

Paleogene transgression process and environmental evolution in the deepwater area of the Baiyun Depression in the northern South China Sea

The recycling of graphite from spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)is overlooked due to its relatively low added value and the lack of efficient reco.ering *** reuse the spent graphite anodes,we need to eliminate their useless co.ponents(mainly the degraded solid electrolyte interphase,SEI)and reco.struct their damaged ***,a facile and efficient strategy is proposed to recycle the spent graphite on the basis of the careful investigation of the co.position of the cycled graphite anodes and the rational design of the regeneration *** regenerated graphite,which is revitalized by calcination treatment and acid leaching,delivers superb rate performance and a high specific capacity of 370 mAh g^(-1)(~99% of its theoretical capacity)after 100 cycles at 0.1 C,superior to the co.mercial graphite *** improved electrochemical performance co.ld be attributed to unchoked Li^(+) transport channels and enhanced charge transfer reaction due to the effective destruction of the degraded SEI and the full reco.ery of the damaged structure of the spent *** work clarifies that the electrochemical performance of the regenerated graphite co.ld be deteriorated by even a trace amount of the residual“impurity”and provides a facile method for the efficient regeneration of graphite anodes.

Migration and fate of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in bioretention systems with different media:experiments and simulations

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)present significant risks to human health owing to their carcinogenic,teratogenic,and mutagenic *** co.tamination of surface water with PAHs via runoff has beco.e a prominent source of water *** the capacity of bioretention systems to remove PAHs from runoff is reco.nized,the dynamics of PAH migration and degradation in these systems are not *** study aims to explain the migration and fate of PAHs in bioretention systems through a series of experiments and model *** study co.structed bioretention systems with three different media types and found that these systems achieved PAH load reductions exceeding 92%.Notably,naphthalene(NAP),fluoranthene(FLT),and pyrene(PYR)tended to accumulate in the media’s upper layer,at depths of 10 to 40 *** further analyze the migration and fate of PAHs during multi-site rainfall events and across prolonged operation,we applied the HYDRUS-1D model under three distinct *** findings of this study indicated that NAP degraded in 40 d,whereas FLT and PYR showed inco.plete degradation after 120 *** co.tinuous rainfall events,there was no clear pattern of PAH accumulation;however,FLT and PYR persisted in the bioretention *** co.bination of experimental and simulation findings highlights the inevitable accumulation of PAHs during extended use of bioretention *** research provides a theoretical basis for improving operational efficiency,advancing PAH degradation in bioretention systems,and reducing their toxicity.
