Objective:To critically assess the neurological recovery and antioxidant effects of resveratrol in rat models of spinal cord *** sources:Using“spinal cord injury”,“resveratrol”and“animal experiment”as the main search terms,all studies on the treatment of spinal cord injury in rats by resveratrol were searched for in PubMed,EMBASE,MEDLINE,Web of Science,Science Direct,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang,VIP,and SinoMed databases by *** search was conducted from their inception date to April *** language restriction was used in the literature *** selection:The methodological quality of each study was assessed by the initial Stroke Therapy Academic Industry Roundtable *** reviewers independently selected studies according to the title,abstract and full *** risk of bias in the included studies was also ***-analyses were performed with Review Manager 5.3 *** measures:Neurological function was assessed by the Basso,Beattie,and Bresnahan scale score,inclined plane score and Gale’s motor function ***-biological analysis of antioxidative effects was conducted to determine superoxide dismutase levels,malondialdehyde levels,nitric oxide synthase activity,nitric oxide levels,xanthine oxidase and glutathione levels in spinal cord ***:The methodological quality of the 12 included studies was *** results of meta-analysis showed that compared with the control group,resveratrol significantly increased the Basso,Beattie,and Bresnahan scale scores after spinal cord injury(n=300,mean difference(MD)=3.85,95%confidence interval(CI)[2.10,5.59],P<0.0001).Compared with the control group,superoxide dismutase levels were significantly elevated(n=138,standardized mean difference(SMD)=5.22,95%CI[2.98,7.45],P<0.00001),but malondialdehyde levels were significantly diminished(n=84,SMD=–3.64,95%CI[–5.84,–1.43],P=0.001)in the spinal cord of the resveratrol treatment ***:Re

We are now well entering the exciting era of stem *** stem cell therapy holds great promise for the treatment of many diseases such as stroke,traumatic brain injury,Alzheimer’s disease,Parkinson’s disease,amyotrophic lateral-sclerosis,myocardial infarction,muscular dystrophy,diabetes,and etc..It is generally believed that transplantation of specific stem cells into the injured tissue to replace the lost cells is an effective way to repair the *** fact,organ transplantation has been successfully practiced in clinics for liver or kidney ***,the severe shortage of donor organs has been a major obstacle for the expansion of organ transplantation *** that direction,generation of transplantable organs using stem cells is a desirable approach for organ replacement and would be of great interest for both basic and clinical *** we review recent progress in the field of organ generation using various methods including single adult tissue stem cells,a blastocyst complementation system,tissue decellularization/recellularization and a combination of stem cells and tissue engineering.

The blackspotted croaker(Protonibea diacanthus)is an endangered coastal marine *** is also a valuable species that is cultured on the southeast coast of *** some genetic studies have been conducted to protect this species,genomic resources are ***,we report a chromosome-scale assembly of *** genome by high-depth genome sequencing,assembly,and *** genome scale was 635.69 Mb with contig and scaffold N50 length of 3.33 Mb and 25.60 Mb,***-C scaffolding of the genome resulted in 24 chromosomes of 94.15%total *** predicted 23,971 protein-coding *** addition,we constructed a phylogenetic tree using 2755 single-copy gene families and identified 462 unique gene families in *** genome compared to three other ***’s more,from the analysis of gene families,we found that several gene families related to innate immunity were significantly expanded in the blackspotted croaker genome compared to other teleost *** high-quality genome can improve our understanding of the molecular mechanisms behind economically valuable traits and provide insights into characteristics of the immune system.

Analysis of the ionosphere wave-motion with GPS

Precise vertical total electron contents (VTEC) and its time variation have been obtained by using GPS dual-frequency observations collected by the continuously operating GPS tracking stations distributed over China. Us-ing VTEC data, the wave-motion appearing in the iono-sphere on November 3, 2003 is monitored and analyzed when a small solar flare happened. Detailed discussion with the VTEC and its change rate series, which are derived from the observations (data) from PRN23 satellite, indicates that the wave-motion mainly contains two dominant frequencies and propagates almost along the meridian line toward south. Additionally, the fluctuation of the mean VTEC has been calculated in a regional Single Layer Model (SLM) iono-spheric shell in the range of N28.0°―34.0° and E118.0°―123.0°. The spectral analysis and the multi-resolution analy-sis of mean VTEC time series show that the periods of these two components of the wave-motion at middle altitude are around 60 and 25 min separately, and the amplitudes can be up to 1.0―2.0 TECU and 0.4―0.7 TECU respectively. Mean- while, the relative motion between the wave-motion and the Ionosphere Pierce Points (IPPs), which are defined as the cross points between the line-of-sight of the GPS signals and the SLM thin shell, reveals that the traveling speeds of the two components are about 120―150 m/s and 30―40 m/s respectively.

Isoscaling behavior studied by HIPSE model

The isoscaling behavior in the reaction system of 58,64Ni + 9Be has been studied by using the heavy-ion phase-space exploration(HIPSE) model. The extracted isoscaling parameters α and β for both heavy and light fragments for HIPSE model calculations are in good agreement with recent experimental data. The investigation shows that the parameters in the HIPSE model have some effect on the isoscaling parameter. The isoscaling parameters for hot and cold fragments have been extracted.

The prevention and treatment of pathological scars remain *** are the mainstay drugs in clinical scar prevention and treatment as they effectively induce scar regression and improve scar pruritus and ***,intralesional injections of corticosteroids are widely used in clinical *** require professional medical manipulation;however,the significant accompanying injection pain,repetition of injections and adverse effects,such as skin atrophy,skin pigmentation and telangiectasia,make this treatment modality an unpleasant experience for *** administration is,therefore,a promising non-invasive and easy-to-use method for corticosteroid administration for scar *** this review,we first summarize the mechanisms of action of corticosteroids in scar prevention and treatment;then,we discuss current developments in intralesional injections and the progress of transdermal delivery systems of corticosteroids,as well as their corresponding advantages and disadvantages.

The noncentrosymmetricity of a prototypical correlated electron system Ca3Ru2O7 renders extensive interest in the possible polar metallic state,along with multiple other closely competing ***,the structural domain formation in this material often complicates the study of intrinsic material *** is crucial to fully characterize the structural domains for unrevealing underlying ***,we report the domain imaging on Ca3Ru2O7 crystal using the reflection of polarized light at normal *** reflection anisotropy measurement utilizes the relative orientation between electric field component of the incident polarized light and the principal axis of the crystal,and gives rise to a peculiar *** domain walls are found to be the interfaces between 90° rotated twin crystals by complementary magnetization measurements.A distinct contrast in reflectance is also found in the opposite cleavage surfaces,owing to the polar mode of the RuO6 *** importantly,the analysis of the contrast between all inequivalent cleavage surfaces enables a direct determination of the crystallographic orientation of each *** an approach provides an efficient yet feasible method for structural domain characterization,which can also find applications in noncentrosymmetric crystals in general.
