We present a systematic determination of the responses of PandaX-Ⅱ,a dual phase xenon time projection chamber detector,to low energy *** electron recoil(ER) and nuclear recoil(NR) responses are calibrated,respectively,with injected tritiated methane or 220Rn source,and with 241Am-Be neutron source,in an energy range from 1-25 keV(ER) and 4-80 keV(NR),under the two drift fields,400 and 317 V/*** empirical model is used to fit the light yield and charge yield for both types of *** best fit models can describe the calibration data *** systematic uncertainties of the fitted models are obtained via statistical comparison to the data.

Mammalian catechol-O-methyltransferases(COMT)are an important class of conjugative enzymes,which play a key role in the metabolism and inactivation of catechol neurotransmitters,catechol estrogens and a wide range of endobiotics and xenobiotics that bear the catechol ***,COMT inhibitors are used in combination with levodopa for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease in clinical *** crucial role of COMT in human health has raised great interest in the development of more practical assays for highly selective and sensitive detection of COMT activity in real samples,as well as for rapid screening and characterization of COMT inhibitors as drug *** review summarizes recent advances in analytical methodologies for sensing COMT activity and their *** lists of biochemical assays for measuring COMT activity,including the probe substrates,along with their analytical conditions and kinetic parameters,are ***,the challenges and future perspectives in the field,such as visualization of COMT activity in vivo and in situ,are ***,this review article overviews the practical assays for measuring COMT activities in complex biological samples,which will strongly facilitate the investigations on the relevance of COMT to human diseases and promote the discovery of COMT inhibitors via high-throughput screening.

Highly surface electron-deficient Co_(9)S_(8) nanoarrays for enhanced oxygen evolution

Tailoring valence electron delocalization of transition metal center is of importance to achieve highly-active electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction(OER).Herein,we demonstrate a“poor sulfur”route to synthesize surface electron-deficient Co_(9)S_(8) nanoarrays,where the binding energy(BE)of Co metal center is considerably higher than all reported Co_(9)S_(8)-based *** resulting Co_(9)S_(8) electrocatalysts only require the overpotentials(h)of 265 and 326 mV at 10 and 100 mA cm^(-2) with a low Tafel slope of 56 mV dec^-(1) and a 60 hlasting stability in alkaline *** OER kinetics are greatly expedited with a low reaction activation energy of 27.9 kJ mol^-(1) as well as abundant OOH*key intermediates(24%),thus exhibiting excellent catalytic *** surface electron-deficient engineering gives an available strategy to improve the catalytic activity of other advanced non-noble electrocatalysts.

The global COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has infected over 109 million people,leading to over 2 million deaths up to date and still lacking of effective drugs for patient ***,we screened about 1.8 million small molecules against the main protease(M^(pro))and papain like protease(PL^(pro)),two major proteases in severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus 2 genome,and identified 1851M^(pro)inhibitors and 205 PL^(pro)inhibitors with low nmol/l activity of the best *** these inhibitors,eight small molecules showed dual inhibition effects on both M^(pro)and PL^(pro),exhibiting potential as better candidates for COVID-19 *** best inhibitors of each protease were tested in antiviral assay,with over 40%of M^(pro)inhibitors and over 20%of PL^(pro)inhibitors showing high potency in viral inhibition with low *** X-ray crystal structure of SARS-CoV-2 M^(pro)in complex with its potent inhibitor 4a was determined at 1.8Å*** with docking assays,our results provide a comprehensive resource for future research on anti-SARS-CoV-2 drug development.

Tumor immune microenvironment is closely related to tumor initiation,prognosis,and response to *** immune landscapes,number of infiltrating immune cells,and the localization of lymphocytes in the tumor vary in across different types of *** immune contexture in cancer,which is determined by the density,composition,functional state and organization of the leukocyte infiltrate of the tumor,can yield information relevant to the prediction of treatment response and patients’*** understanding of the immune atlas in human tumors have been achieved with the development and application of single-cell analysis technology,which has provided a reference for prognosis,and insights on new targets for *** this review,we summarized the different characteristics of immune contexture in cancer defined by a variety of single-cell techniques,which have enhanced our understanding on the pathophysiology of the tumor *** believe that there are much more to be uncovered in this rapidly developing field of medicine,and they will predict the prognosis of cancer patients and guide the rational design of immunotherapies for success in cancer eradication.

Adsorption-energy-based activity descriptors for electrocatalysts in energy storage applications

Energy storage technologies, such as fuel cells, ammonia production and lithium–air batteries, are important strategies for addressing the global challenge of energy crisis and environmental *** overpotential as a direct criterion, we illustrate in theory and experiment that the adsorption energies of charged species such as Li~++e~-and H~++e~-are a central parameter to describe catalytic activities related to electricity-in/electricity-out efficiencies. The essence of catalytic activity is revealed to relate with electronic coupling between catalysts and charged species. Based on adsorption energy, some activity descriptors such as d-band center, e-electron number and charge-transfer capacity are further defined by electronic properties of catalysts that directly affect interaction between catalysts and charged species. The present review is helpful for understanding the catalytic mechanisms of these electrocatalytic reactions and developing accurate catalytic descriptors, which can be employed to screen high-activity catalysts in future high-throughput calculations and experiments.

Investigation of rheo-diecasting mold filling of semi-solid A380 aluminum alloy slurry

The rheo-diecasting mold filling capacity and the microstructure of the semi-solid A380 aluminum alloy slurry were investigated. The results show that the mold filling capacity was strengthened with increasing pouring temperature or increasing injection pressure. Under certain process parameters, the mold cavity was fully filled. However, the mold filling capacity decreased with increasing holding time. The mold filling capacity was improved with increasing shape factor of primary α(Al) grains; however, the solid fraction and the grain size significantly increased at the same time. In addition, the microstructures along the route of the spiral samples obviously differed. The grain size decreased gradually from the near-end to the far-end, whereas the shape factor increased gradually.

BACKGROUND： Acupuncture and electro-acupundura （EA） as complementary and alternative medicine have been applied for neurological recovery after spinal cord injury （SCI）, but the mechanism of treatment is unclear yet. OBJECTIVE： To examine and compare the effects of EA with methylprednisolone （MP） on apoptosis and expression of caspase-3 mRNA and protein in early SCI, in an attempt to provide experimental clues for clinical use of EA in the treatment of early SCI. DESIGN ： A randomized control tria SETTING ： Department of Anatomy, Second Military Medical University of Chinese PLA MATERIALS： Forty-eight adult male Sprague-Dawley （SD） rats aged 12 weeks and weighing （250±20） g were used. Different Effects and Peripheral Mechanism between Manual-acupuncture and Electroacupuncture on Mast Cell Function and Acupuncture Analgesia by Nerve Block in Acupionts

Objective： To observe the effects of nerve block on MA and EA analgesia and mast cells degranulation in adjuvant arthritis rats in order to analyze the difference between the underlying peripheral mechanism of MA and EA analgesia. Methods： Zusanli （ST 36） was chosen as the acupuncturing point on adjuvant arthritis rats. Eighty SD rats were randomized into 10 groups, including control, model, normal＋Lido, EA, Lido＋EA, DLido＋ZEA, Xlido＋ZEA, MA, Lido＋MA, Dlido＋ZMA groups, with 8 rats in each group. Paw Withdraw Latencies and mast cells degranulation ratios were recorded and computed. Results： Compared with model group, the pain threshold （PT） and mast cells degranulation ratios of EA and MA groups were obviously increased （P〈0.05 or P〈0.01）. The analgesia effects of both MA and EA were obviously attenuated after nerve block by pretreated with Lidocaine hydrochloride at the acupuncturing point or at the acupiont of proximal end in the same neural stem while they were not by the same manipulations at the acupoint of distal end. Degranulation ratios of mast cells caused by MA or EA were not obviously affected by nerve block. Conclusion： The effective signal of nerve conduction of MA analgesia is generated after the degranulation of mast cells in the process of acupoints activation or needle sense and it is the direct cause of generation of nerve signal. In the condition of EA, the acupoints activation is caused by the stimulation of electric signal on nerve receptor while the degranulation of mast cells is concomitant or feedback effect.
