Totally implantable access ports(TIAPs)are used for patients with poor peripheral vascular support requiring central venous *** recent years,TIAPs have been gradually accepted and promoted by patients,doctors,and nurses owing to their advantages of convenient carrying,a long maintenance period,low complications,and a high quality of life for ***,medical personnel that handle TIAP implantation and management in China are from different areas of healthcare,including surgery,internal medicine,radiology,nurse anesthesia,vascular access,etc.,and many only handle TIAP as a part of their ***,the operating procedures and steps for the diagnosis and treatment of complications of TIAP vary from person to person,resulting in different incidence and treatment methods for complications in the implantation and use of TIAP in different medical *** on this,we have updated the shanghai expert consensus on TIAPs from 2015 and explored the diagnosis and treatment procedures of related complications while continuing to emphasize standardized implantation and maintenance.

Transport of black carbon aerosols from non-local sources:A case study in shanghai

Black carbon （BC） aerosol mass carried by winds of varying directions from non-local sources was esti- mated based on hourly measured data of BC mass concentration （CBc） and meteorological parameters from January 2008 to December 2012 in shanghai, and the relationship between annual average CBc and wind speed was analyzed. The results show that the annual average CBC decreased with wind speed for speeds exceeding 0.3 m/s. The relationship between the two was determined by a linear fit with corre- lation coefficient 0,88. Assuming BC aerosol mass of non-local sources transported by a southeast wind was zero, annual average BC concentrations （μg/m3） carried by winds of variable direction were 1.99 （southwest）, 1.95 （west）, 1.15 （northwest）, 0.54 （south）, 0.39 （north）, 0.01 （northeast）, and 0.01 （east）. BC aerosol mass of non-local sources transported by wind to shanghai was about 6404.05 t per year, among which the total contribution of southwest, west, and northwest winds was nearly 84~;. The aerosol mass transported to shanghai in winter accounted for 35% that of the entire year, and was greater than that of the other seasons.

Prevalence and risk factors of diabetic retinopathy in patients with type 2 diabetes in shanghai

AIM:To investigate the prevalence of diabetic retinopathy(DR)in residents of shanghai and analyze the risk factors of ***:This study involved 7233 patients with diabetes in *** demographic data of the participants were collected using a questionnaire *** examination,laboratory tests,and ophthalmological examinations were *** professional ophthalmologists diagnosed and graded DR by fundus examination and then combined the results with fundus *** unconditional multivariate Logistic regression analysis was used to determine the risk ***:In total,6978 patients with type 2 diabetes in shanghai with a mean age of 68.33±8.40 y were recruited,including 2975 males(42.6%)and 4003 females(57.4%).Overall,1184 patients were diagnosed with DR,with a prevalence rate of 16.97%.Regression analysis showed that duration of diabetes(OR 1.061,95%CI 1.049-1.073),high systolic blood pressure(SBP;OR 1.071,95%CI 1.037-1.106),increased glycosylated hemoglobin level(OR 1.234,95%CI 1.162-1.311),high blood glucose level(OR 1.061,95%CI 1.023-1.099),increased neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio(NLR;OR 1.132,95%CI 1.053-1.217)and mean platelet volume(MPV;OR 1.077,95%CI 1.016-1.142)were risk factors of ***,hematocrit(HCT;OR 0.971,95%CI 0.954-0.988)and mean corpuscular volume(MCV;OR 0.980,95%CI 0.965-0.994)were protective ***:The prevalence rate of DR in shanghai is 16.97%.The duration of diabetes,high SBP,increased glycosylated hemoglobin,NLR,and MPV were determined as risk factors of DR.

Objective:Omicron,a severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)variant,is responsible for numerous infections in *** study investigates the association between the use of Seven-Flavor Herb Tea(SFHT)and the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection to develop precise and differentiated strategies for control of the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19).Methods:This case-control study was conducted at shelter hospitals and quarantine hotels in China.A total of 5348 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 patients were enrolled between April 1 and May 31,2022,while 2190 uninfected individuals served as healthy *** questionnaires were used to collect data on demographics,underlying diseases,vaccination status,and use of *** were propensity-score-matched using 1:1 nearest-neighbor matching of the logit of the propensity ***,a conditional logistic regression model was used for data ***:Overall,7538 eligible subjects were recruited,with an average age of[45.54±16.94]*** age of COVID-19 patients was significantly higher than that of uninfected individuals([48.25±17.48]years vs[38.92±13.41]years;t=22.437,P<0.001).A total of 2190 COVID-19 cases were matched with uninfected individuals at a 1:1 *** use of SFHT(odds ratio=0.753,95%confidence interval:0.692,0.820)was associated with a lower risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection compared to untreated ***:Our findings suggest that taking SFHT reduces the risk of SARS-CoV-2 *** is a useful study in the larger picture of COVID-19 management,but data from large-sample multi-center,randomized clinical trial are warranted to confirm the finding.

Efficacy of comprehensive cognitive health management for shanghai community older adults with mild cognitive impairment

Background The management of modifiable risk factors and comorbidities may impact the future trajectory of cognitive impairment,but easy-to-implement management methods are *** This study investigated the effects of simple but comprehensive cognitive health management practices on the cognitive function of older adults in the community with normal cognition(NC)and mild cognitive impairment(MCI).Methods The comprehensive cognitive health management programme included a psychiatric assessment of the cognitive risk factors for those in the intervention groups and individualised recommendations for reducing the risks through self-management supported by regular medical professional *** intervention groups for this study included 84 elderly participants with NC and 43 elderly participants with MCI who received comprehensive cognitive health *** control groups included 84 elderly participants with NC and 43 elderly participants with MCI who matched the intervention group’s general characteristics and scale scores using the propensity matching score *** Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA)scale and Geriatric Depression Scale(GDS)scores were compared after a 1-year *** For older adults with MCI in the intervention group,MoCA scores were higher at the 1-year followup than at baseline(24.07(3.674)vs 22.21(3.052),p=0.002).For the MoCA subscales,the intervention group’s abstract and delayed memory scores had significantly increased during the 1-year ***,in a generalised linear mixed model analysis,the interaction effect of group×follow-up was statistically significant for the MCI group(F=6.61,p=0.011;coefficients=5.83).Conclusions After the comprehensive cognitive health management intervention,the older adults with MCI in the community showed improvement at the 1-year *** preliminary study was the first to demonstrate an easy-to-implement strategy for modifying the cognitive risk factors of elderl

Transmutation of nuclear wastes using photonuclear reactions triggered by Compton backscattering photons at the shanghai laser electron gamma source

Based on the facility of the shanghai Laser Electron Gamma Source （SLEGS）, the transmutation for nuclear wastes such as 137^Cs and 129^I is investigated. It is found that nuclear waste can be transmuted efficiently via photonuclear reaction triggered by gamma photons generated from Compton backscattering between CO2 laser photons and 3.5 GeV electrons. The nuclear activities of 137^Cs and 129^I are evaluated and compared with the results of transmutation triggered by bremsstrahlung gamma photons driven by ultra intense laser. Due to the better character of gamma photon spectrum as well as the high brightness of gamma photons, the transmutation rate of Compton backscattering method is much higher than that of the bremsstrahlung method.
