The Wangjiazhuang Cu(-Mo)deposit,located within the Zouping volcanic basin in western shandong province,China,is unique in this area for having an economic *** order to expound the metallogenetic characteristics of this porphyry-like hydrothermal deposit,a detailed fluid inclusion study has been conducted,employing the techniques of representative sampling,fluid inclusion petrography,microthermometry,Raman spectroscopy,LA-ICP-MS analysis of single fluid inclusions,as well as cathode fluorescence spectrometer analysis of host mineral *** deposit contains mainly two types of orebodies,***-dissemination-stockwork orebodies in the K-Si alteration zone and pegmatiticquartz sulfide veins above *** addition,minor breccia ore occurs *** types of fluid inclusions in the deposit and altered quartz monzonite are identified:L-type one-or two-phase aqueous inclusions,V-type vapor-rich inclusions with V/L ratios greater than 50%-90%,D-type multiphase fluid inclusions containing daughter minerals or solids and S-type silicate-bearing fluid inclusions containing mainly muscovite and *** petrography and fluid inclusion study has revealed a three-stage mineralization process,driven by magmatic-hydrothermal fluid activity,as ***,a hydrothermal fluid,separated from the parent magma,infiltrated into the quartz monzonite,resulting in its extensive K-Si alteration,as indicated by silicate-bearing fluid inclusions trapped in altered quartz *** is followed by the early mineralization,the formation of quartz veinlets and dissemination-stockwork *** the main mineralization stage,due to the participation and mixing of meteoric groundwater with magmatic-sourced hydrothermal fluid,the cooling and phase separation caused deposition of metals from the hydrothermal *** a result,the pegmatitic-quartz sulfide-vein ores *** the late mineralization stage,decreasing fluid salinity led to the formation of L-type aqueous

Failure mechanism and simulation for long run-out of the catastrophic rock landslide in the Shanyang Vanadium Mine,China

On 12th August 2015,a massive rapid long run-out rock landslide occurred in the Shanyang Vanadium Mine in Shaanxi province,China,which claimed the lives of 65 *** heavy rainfalls,earthquakes,and mining blasts were recorded before the ***,the failure mechanism and the cause of the long run-out movement are always in *** this paper,we conducted a detailed field investigation,laboratory tests,block theory analysis,and numerical simulation to investigate the failure and long run-out mechanisms of the *** field investigation results show that the source material of the rock landslide is a huge dolomite wedge block bedding on siliceous shale *** compression tests indicate that the uniaxial compression strength of the intact dolomite is 130-140MPa and the dolomite shows a brittle failure *** to the progressive downward erosion of the gully,the dolomite rock bridge at the slope toe became *** the compression stress in the dolomite bridge increased to surpass its strength,the brittle failure of the bridge *** huge potential energy was released following the disintegration of the landslide,which led to the high acceleration of this rock *** 3D discrete element simulation results suggest that the low intergranular friction contributes to the long run-out movement of this rock landslide.

A new monitoring index for ecological vulnerability and its application in the Yellow River Basin,China from 2000 to 2022

The ecological environment of the Yellow River Basin has become more fragile under the combined action of natural and manmade ***,the change mechanisms of ecological vulnerability in different sub-regions and periods vary,and the reasons for this variability are yet to be ***,in this study,we proposed a new remote sensing ecological vulnerability index by considering moisture,heat,greenness,dryness,land degradation,and social economy indicators and then analyzed and disclosed the spatial and temporal change patterns of ecological vulnerability of the Yellow River Basin,China from 2000 to 2022 and its driving *** results showed that the newly proposed remote sensing ecological vulnerability index had a high accuracy,at 86.36%,which indicated a higher applicability in the Yellow River *** 2000 to 2022,the average remote sensing ecological vulnerability index of the Yellow River Basin was 1.03,denoting moderate vulnerability *** intensive vulnerability area was the most widely distributed,which was mostly located in the northern part of Shaanxi province and the eastern part of Shanxi *** 2000 to 2022,the ecological vulnerability in the Yellow showed an overall stable trend,while that of the central and eastern regions showed an obvious trend of *** gravity center of ecological vulnerability migrated southwest,indicating that the aggravation of ecological vulnerability in the southwestern regions was more severe than in the northeastern regions of the *** dominant single factor of changes in ecological vulnerability shifted from normalized difference vegetation index(NDVI)to temperature from 2000 to 2022,and the interaction factors shifted from temperature∩NDVI to temperature∩precipitation,which indicated that the global climate change exerted a more significant impact on regional *** above results could provide decision support for the ecological protection and restoration of the Y

The Triassic granitoids in Central Tianshan play a key role in determining the petrogenesis and tectonic evolution on the southern margin of the Central Asian orogenic *** this study,we present SHRIMP zircon U-Pb ages,Hf isotopic and geochemical data on the Xingxingxia biotite granite,amazonite granite and granitic pegmatite in Central Tianshan,NW *** U-Pb dating yielded formation ages of 242 Ma for the biotite granite and 240 Ma for the amazonite *** granitoid rocks have high K_(2)O with low MgO and CaO *** are enriched in Nb,Ta,Hf and Y,while being depleted in Ba and Sr,showing flat HREE patterns and negative Eu *** have typical A-type granite geochemical signatures with high Ga/A_(1)(8–13)and TFeO/(TFeO+MgO)ratios,showing an A_(2) affinity for biotite granite and an A_(1) affinity for amazonite granite and granitic *** ε_(Hf)(t)values of the granitoids are 0.45–2.66,with Hf model ages of 0.99–1.17 *** suggests that these A-type granites originated from partial melting of the lower *** propose that Xingxingxia Triassic A-type granites formed under lithospheric extension from post-orogenic to anorogenic intraplate settings and NE-trending regional strike-slip fault-controlled magma emplacement in the upper crust.

SS-LASS Zircon Dating Deciphering Multiple Episodes of Anatexis in a Deeply-Subducted Continental Crust:An Example from Sulu Orogen,China

‘Single shot'laser-ablation split-stream(SS-LASS)technique analyzing unpolished zircon grains makes their thin rims tenable for determination,which thus offers great potential in deciphering the timing of multiple and short-lived episodes of anatexis and metamorphism in deeplysubducted continental *** granitic gneisses in the deeply subducted continental crust undergoing considerable fluid-melt activities persist multistage growth of ***,a comparative study of SS-LASS and laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer(LA-ICP-MS)zircon dating was conducted on the granitic gneisses from the Sulu belt in this *** mostly show a core-mantle-rim structure with CL-bright rims thinner than 5μ*** LA-ICP-MS dating,relict magmatic zircon cores yield protolith ages of ca.756-747 Ma;whereas the dark mantles record synexhumation anatexis at ca.214 *** contrast,according to the U-Pb dates,trace element features,zircon crystallization temperatures and geological context,SS-LASS zircon petrochronology deciphers three episodes of anatectic events,as follows:(i)the first episode of anatexis at ca.218-217 Ma dominated by phengite-breakdown melting,likely facilitating the exhumation of the UHP slice from mantle depth;(ii)the second episode of anatexis at ca.193–191 Ma indicating part of northern Dabie-Sulu belt was still“hot”because of buried in the thickened orogenic crust at that time;(iii)the third episode of anatexis(ca.162–161 Ma)consistent with the intrusion ages(ca.161–141 Ma)of the Jurassic to Cretaceous granitoids in this orogen,suggesting the initial collapse of the orogenic root of the Sulu belt occurred at Late Jurassic due to the Izanagi plate initially subducting beneath the margin of Eastern *** study sheds new light upon the utilization of SS-LASS petrochronology deciphering multiple anatectic events in the deeply-subducted continental crust and supports us in better understanding the tectonic evolution of Dabie-

Effect of particle composition and consolidation degree on the wave-induced liquefaction of soil beds

The wave-induced liquefaction of seabed is responsible for causing damage to marine *** composition and consolidation degree are the key factors affecting the pore water pressure response and liquefaction behavior of the seabed under wave *** present study conducted wave flume experiments on silt and silty fine sand beds with varying particle ***,a comprehensive analysis of the differences and underlying reasons for liquefaction behavior in two different types of soil was conducted from both macroscopic and microscopic *** experimental results indicate that the silt bed necessitates a lower wave load intensity to attain the liquefaction state in comparison to the silty fine sand ***,the duration and development depth of liquefaction are greater in the silt *** dissimilarity in liquefaction behavior between the two types of soil can be attributed to the variation in their permeability and plastic deformation *** permeability coefficient and compression modulus of silt are lower than those of silty fine ***,silt is more prone to the accumulation of pore pressure and subsequent liquefaction under external *** research has demonstrated that silt beds with varying consolidation degrees exhibit distinct initial failure ***,a dense bed undergoes shear failure,whereas a loose bed experiences initial liquefaction *** study utilized discrete element simulation to examine the microscopic mechanisms that underlie this phenomenon.

Dynamic response characteristics of muddy sandstone in pumped storage mine under action of high-stress dynamic disturbance

During the construction and operation of the abandoned mine pumped storage power station, the underground space surrounding rock body faces the complex stress environment under the action of mining disturbance, frequent pumping, water storage and other dynamic disturbances. The stability of the abandoned mine surrounding rock body is the basis for guaranteeing the safety and effectiveness of water storage in the underground space of the abandoned mine. By considering the two main factors of different stress levels and disturbance amplitudes, the mechanical properties, damage characteristics and acoustic emission characteristics of the abandoned mine perimeter rock body under dynamic disturbance were investigated using a creep-disturbed dynamic impact loading system. The experimental results show that: 1) The stress level is considered to be the major contributing factor of the failure of muddy sandstone, followed by the amplitude of the disturbances; 2) The time required for the destruction of muddy sandstone decreases with the increase of amplitude. When the stress level is 80%, the sandstone specimens have a decreasing number of cycles as the disturbance amplitude increases. The disturbance amplitude is sequentially increased from 4 MPa to 5, 6, 7, and 8 MPa, the number of cycles required for specimen destruction decreases significantly by 96.71%, 99.13%, 99.60%, and 99.93%, respectively; 3) Disturbance amplitude and stress level have a significant effect on muddy sandstone damage and damage occurs only after a certain threshold is reached. With the increase of stress level and disturbance amplitude, the macroscopic damage of muddy sandstone is mainly conical, with obvious flake spalling and poor damage integrity; 4) According to the time-dependent changes in AE energy and ringing counts, the acoustic emission activity during the failure process could be divided into three phases, namely, weakening period, smooth period, and surge period, corresponding to the comp

*** Pegmatite hosts important resource of rare metals,e.g.,lithium(Li)and beryllium(Be).In recent years,increasingly more studies were dedicated to characterize and unravel the formation of pegmatite-type deposits,for which accurate dating of pegmatite formation and mineralization is *** Songpan-Ganzi orogenic belt is a major rare metal metallogenic belt in China,hosting many important pegmatite-type Li deposits,including the Lijiagou,Dangba,Jiajika,Yelonggou,Cuola,and *** age data(mica Ar-Ar and zircon/cassiterite U-Pb)from these Li deposits are sparse,ranging from 210 to 152 ***,obtaining reliable zircon U-Pb dates can be a challenge due to the strong decidualization in *** a result,the formation and mineralization ages of these rare metal pegmatites remain controversial,which hampers the development of pegmatite-type metallogenic model for the Songpan-Ganzi orogenic belt.

A stability evaluation method for deep-seated toppling in the upper Lancang river,Southwestern China

Deep-seated toppling in the upper reaches of the Lancang River,southwest China involves deformations exceeding 100 m in *** slope deformation is initiated by river downcutting and evolves distinctive characteristics with a depth of river *** this study,we propose a system for evaluating the stability of deep-seated toppled slopes in different evolutionary *** system contains identification criteria for each evolutionary stage and provides the corresponding stability evaluation *** on the mechanical and kinematic analysis of slope blocks,the specific stage of slope movement can be identified in the field through outcrop mapping,in situ tests,surface displacement monitoring,and adit and borehole *** stability evaluation methods are established based on the limiting equilibrium theory and the strain compatibility between the undisturbed zone and the toppled ***,several sample slopes in different evolution stages have been investigated to verify the applicability and accuracy of the proposed stability evaluation *** results indicate that intense tectonic activity and rapid river incision lead to a maximum principal stress ratio exceeding 10 near the slope surface,thus triggering widespread toppling deformations along the river *** considering the losses of joint cohesion during the further rotation process,the safety factor of the slope drops by 7%e28%.The self-stabilization of toppling deformation can be recognized by the layer symmetry configuration after the free rotation of the deflected *** toppled rock blocks mainly suffer sliding failures beyond the layer symmetry *** factor of safety of the K73 rockslide decreased from 1.17 to 0.87 by considering the development of the potential sliding surface and the toesaturated zone.
