As an important part of the early Mesozoic granites in the South Qinling tectonic belt(SQTB),the Guangtoushan pluton provides a material basis for research on the composition of magma sources and the effects of peritectic assemblage entrainment(PAE)on the changes in the granite *** shown by the results of LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating,the Guangtoushan pluton was emplaced during the Late Triassic(214-212 Ma)and was formed in the post-collision stage between the SQTB and the Yangtze *** collected samples had high SiO_(2)content and low Cr and Ni contents,indicating that the magmas did not undergo significant crust-mantle mixing during their *** Guangtoushan granitoids were distributed along the trend line of magmatic fractional crystallization in the F-An-Or *** result,combined with the relatively homogeneous Sr-Nd isotopic composition,implies that the Guangtoushan pluton underwent slight assimilation and *** can be inferred from the comparison between the compositions of the Guangtoushan granitoids and various fluid-absent experimental melts,the magma sources of the Guangtoushan granitoids contain a variety of materials,such as graywackes,pyroclastic graywackes,and pelites and are not derived from lower crustal mafic *** correlation between the maficity and the major and trace elements further indicates that the strongly peraluminous granitoids from the Guangtoushan pluton was formed by the partial melting of biotite-bearing crustal rocks and its magmatic evolution was accompanied by the entrainment of clinopyroxenes and accessory minerals.

Magma Chamber Process of Post-collisional Magmatism: Insight from Textural and Elemental Characteristics of Plagioclase from the Tatun Volcanic group, Northern Taiwan Volcanic Zone

The Taiwan mountain belt, one of the youngest orogenies in the world, is caused by the collision of the Luzon arc with the Eurasian margin, which leads to post-collisional extension and magmatism in the Northern Taiwan Volcanic Zone(NTVZ). The magma chamber process in this region has not previously been elucidated in detail. In this paper, the textural and compositional features of plagioclase phenocrysts in basalt from the Tatun Volcanic group(TTVG) were studied to restrict the dynamics of magma system. Results show that the magma melts in TTVG are mainly sourced from the underlying MORB-like mantle wedge but influenced by incorporation of subduction components, causing the elevated Sr/Y and Ba/Y ratios in magma melts. The subduction components are mainly transported in the form of sediment melt. The plagioclase phenocrysts in the TTVG volcanic rocks are generally coarsely core-sieved with a clear rim. The An contents in the rims of plagioclase are much lower than those of cores, and elevated FeO concentrations are detected in the plagioclase rims. We propose there exists a double-layer magma chamber in this region. The core of the plagioclase was crystalized in the deeper quiescent magma chamber(~21 km), which was subsequently partially dissolved during the ascent of magma melt under H_(2)O-undersaturated condition, forming the typical coarsely sieved texture and synneusis. When this crystal-rich melt migrates into the shallower chamber, water saturation is reached and more sodic plagioclase formed as the rim of phenocryst. Due to the considerably higher fO_(2) in the shallow chamber than in the deeper one, and the distribution of Fe between plagioclase and melt positively correlates with fO_(2), the FeO content in the plagioclase rim elevates in conjunction with increasing fO_(2).

Objective Eclogites are important indicators of ancient plate boundaries or paleosuture zones. Despite their great geological significance, very few investigations have been carried out in the Kunlun region. The Central East Kunlun fault zone was believed to be an Early Paleozoic suture zone, but there has been no reliable evidence for this, though studies on ophiolite, granite, and basic granulite indicate that the Early Paleozoic orogeny occurred in the East Kunlun. This work focused on the Dagele eclogites in Central East Kunlun to provide new constraints for the Central East Kunlun suture zone.

The Mesozoic intrusions of the Jiaodong Peninsula,eastern China,host giant gold *** the genesis of these deposits requires the determination of the source of the parental auriferous fluid and the timing of gold mineralization,which are strongly influenced by the cooling/uplift histories of the hosting *** performed an integrated U-Pb geochronology study on both zircon and apatite from four major magmatic episodes of the Jiaodong *** zircon and apatite U-Pb ages are 156.9±1.2 and 137.2±2.4 Ma for the Linglong intrusion,129.9±1.0 and 125.0±3.8 Ma for the Qujia intrusion,119.5±0.7 and 117.2±1.8 Ma for the Liulinzhuang intrusion,118.6±1.0 and 111.6±1.6 Ma for the Nansu intrusion,*** coupled zircon and apatite data of these granitoids indicate a slow cooling rate(11.9°C/Ma)in the Late Jurassic,and rapid uplift and cooling(35.8-29.2°C/Ma)in the Early *** dramatically increased uplift and cooling period in the Early Cretaceous are contemporaneous with large-scale gold mineralization in the Jiaodong *** implies that thermal upwelling of asthenosphere and related tectonic extension played an important role in gold remobilization and precipitation.

Transformation from Neoproterozoic Sinistral to Early Paleozoic Dextral Shearing for the Jingdezhen Ductile Shear Zone in the Jiangnan Orogen, South China

The Jingdezhen ductile shear zone is evolved from the Neoproterozoic Zhangyuan ophiolite melange belt in the eastern Jiangnan Orogen, South China. Comprehensive study of geometry, kinematics, quartz c-axis fabric, temperature-pressure conditions and geochronology were conducted in this study. The Jingdezhen shear zone extends -180 km along the NE orientation with two groups of subvertical fo- liation and subhorizontal lineation. One group of foliation strikes NEN orientation whereas another one NEE orientation. Field investigation, microscopic observation and quartz c-axis fabric show that sinistral shearing along NEN-striking foliation occurred earlier than dextral shearing along NEE-striking foliation. Syn-tectonic staurolite porphyroblasts and deformation manner of feldspar imply that sinistral shearing occurred at 530-420 ℃ and 6-2 kbar. Deformation manner and c-axis fabric of quartz and pre-tectonic staurolite porphyroblasts indicate that dextral shearing took place at 420-300 ℃. LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb and mica ^40Ar/^39Ar dating indicate that the sinistral shearing occurred during Neoproterozoic oro- geny （830-800 Ma） whereas the dextral shearing at 447＋12 Ma. The sinistral shearing resulted from the Neoproterozoic final assembly between the Yangtze and Cathaysia blocks. The dextral shearing was caused by Early Paleozoic orogen parallel extension and clockwise rotation.

The newly discovered medium-scale Huangling uranium deposit is located in the Shuanlong area of the southeast Ordos *** paper presents the systematic geochemical and zircon U-Pb studies on the Zhiluo Formation sandstones in the Huanling *** data obtained play an important role in deducing the provenance and tectonic setting of the source *** results show that the lower part of the Zhiluo Formation is mainly composed of felsic sedimentary *** source rocks originated from a continental island arc environment in terms of tectonic setting.U-Pb ages of detrital zircons obtained can be roughly divided into three groups:170‒500 Ma,1600‒2050 Ma,and 2100‒2650 *** on the characteristics of trace elements and rare earth elements(REE)and the zircon U-Pb dating results,it is considered that the Cryptozoic Edo provenance of the Zhiluo Formation mainly includes magmatic rocks(such as granodioritic intrusions)and metamorphic rocks(such as gneiss and granulite)in the orogenic belts on the northern margin of the North China Plate and in the Alxa *** on sedimentological and petrological results,it can be concluded that the provenance of clastic sediments in the Zhiluo Formation was in north-south *** preconcentration of uranium is relatively low in the Lower Zhiluo Formation in the Huangling ***,the paleocurrent system in the sedimentary period is inconsistent with the ore-bearing flow field in the mineralization period,which restricts the formation of large-scale and super-large-scale uranium deposits and ore zones in the southeast Ordos *** understanding of provenance directions will provide crucial references for the Jurassic prototype recovery and paleo-geomorphology of the Ordos Basin and the prediction of potential uranium reservoirs of the basin.

The Huayangchuan ore belt is located in the western segment of Xiaoqinling Orogen in the southern margin of the North China Craton(NCC),and hosts voluminous magmatism and significant U-REE-Mo-Cu-Fe polymetallic ***,geochronological framework of the various mineralization phases in this region is poorly ***,we present new Re-Os isochron ages on magnetite from the Caotan Fe deposit(2 675 ± 410 Ma,MSWD = 0.55),and on pyrite from the Jialu REE deposit(2 127 ± 280 Ma,MSWD = 1.9) and Yuejiawa Cu deposit(418 ± 23 Ma,MSWD =11.5),and Re-Os weighted average model age on pyrite from the Taoyuan Mo-U deposit(235 ± 14 Ma,MSWD = 0.17).These ages,combined with regional geology and mineralization ages from other deposits,suggest that mineralization in the Huayangchuan ore belt lasted from the Neoarchean to the Late *** mineralization corresponds to regional tectono-magmatic events,including the Neoarchean alkali magmatism(REE mineralization),Paleoproterozoic plagioclase-amphibolite emplacement(Fe mineralization),Paleoproterozoic pegmatite magmatism(U mineralization),Paleozoic Shangdan oceanic slab subduction-related arc magmatism(Cu mineralization),Early Mesozoic Paleo-Tethys Ocean subduction-related arc magmatism(Mo-U mineralization),and Late Mesozoic Paleo-Pacific oceanic plate subduction direction change-related Mo(-Pb) *** proposed that the Huayangchuan ore belt has undergone prolonged metallogenic evolution,and the magmatism and associated mineralization were controlled by regional geodynamic events.

Mechanism of spatial emplacement of Shanhou gold ore body in Laixi of shandong and its prospecting significance

Through analysis of geological characteristics of the gold deposit,the shape,occurrence,and spatial distribution of ore-controlling fault plane in the Shanhou mining area were investigated,and the regularities of enrichment and emplacement of ore body were summarized. The analysis shows that the Shanhou gold deposit was controlled by NE-NNE Zhaoping fault zone; the fault gouge developed in fault zone provides a barrier to ore-bearing hydrothermal solution,and the industrial ore body is all distributed within 40 m of footwall of main fault plane. The industrial ore body is mainly enriched in the NE positions of fault where the deep dips changed to flat dips,and shows the obvious regularity of NE lateral trending with angle around 75°. The stress analysis of fault in mineralization epoch showed that the ore-controlling structure presented the characteristics of righthanded rotation inverse-fault activity in mineralization epoch,and the host space tended to occur in NE regional tension positions where the dips become flat in the strike of fault,causing emplacement of ore body. It is thought by combining equal interval distribution of deposit with spatial variation of industrial ore body and orecontrolling fault structure that the Shanhou gold deposit recurred in regularity and the non-ore interval occurred in the ore body. Meanwhile,it is predicted that the favorable target area of prospecting lies in the areas of deep main fault plane with NE strike( > 30°) and the deep dips changing to flat dips in the Shanhou mining area,and the prospecting should be emphasized. The favorable deep mineralization prospect exists in middle Beibo mining area,where is the key area for future prospecting.

The Abra deposit,a large lead-silver-copper–gold polymetallic deposit in Western Australia,is located at the eastern of the metallogenic belt of the Jillawarra basin in the Bangemall *** 4 th to the 6 th rock section of the Irrigully group of Edmund Series are the principal ore-host strata,composed mainly of sandstone and fine *** orebody in Abra can be classified into two types as upper layer-like lead-silver and lower veins or netvein copper–*** metal minerals are mainly galena,chalcopyrite,and pyrite,while the gangue minerals are mainly quartz,dolomite,and *** ReOs isotopic age of the pyrite(1329.5±98 Ma)with the initial(187Os/188Os)=5.0±3.8 and Pb isotopic compositions(206 Pb/204 Pb=15.914–15.967,207Pb/204Pb=15.425–15.454,208Pb/204Pb=35.584–35.667)suggests that the metal minerals were sourced from the wall-rocks.d DV-SMOWvalues of quartz range from-35%to-17%whereas d18 OV-SMOWvalue range from 12%to 16%which indicates that the ore-forming fluids of Abra were mediumlow temperature and medium–low salinity,and were mainly metamorphic water and secondary atmospheric *** the medium–low temperature oreforming fluids are mixed with oxidizing reducing fluids carrying a large number of metal substances,a large number of ore-forming substances will be precipitated when the physical and chemical conditions change,thus it can be considered that the Abra deposit is a medium–low temperature hydrothermal polymetallic deposit.

The Mesoproterozoic Bayan Obo group located along the northern margin of the North China Craton(NMNCC)hosts a world’s largest known rare-earth element(REE)deposit(Bayan Obo Fe-REE-Nb deposit)[1,2]and a number of large gold deposits(eg.,Haoyaoerhugong and Zhulazhaga gold deposits;Fig.1a)[3],and has a long and protracted thermal history spanning from1.3 Ga to 250 Ma[1].The tectonic history was associated with Proterozoic rifting with carbonatite magmatism at1.3 Ga[4]and subsequent subduction-accretion processes of the Paleo-Asian Ocean[5,6].The Paleo-Asian oceanic subduction beneath the North China Craton(NCC)initiated in the Middle Silurian[7,8]and the ocean was closed in the Permian to induce the accretion of arcs and terranes with the NCC[2].This long and protracted tectonic history increases the difficulties both in dating and understanding the genesis of the Bayan Obo REE deposit and black shale-hosted gold deposits(e.g.,Haoyaoerhudong deposit).Thus,it is important to understand the thermal history of the hosting strata in order to constrain the tectonic drive and timing of polymetallic *** have been few attempts to date the multistage thermal events which the Bayan Obo group has witnessed,predominantly because of greenschist facies overprint of the host rocks and lack of reliable geochronometers[9,10].
