Assessing environmental impact:Micro-energy network optimization in a Chinese industrial park

Micro-energy systems co.tribute significantly to environmental improvement by reducing dependence on power grids through the utilization of multiple renewable energy sources.This study quantified the environmental impact of a micro-energy network system in an industrial park through a life cycle assessment using the operation of the micro-energy network over a year as the functional unit and“cradle-to-gate”as the system boundary.Based on the baseline scenario,a natural gas generator set was added to replace central heating,and the light pipes were expanded to co.stitute the optimized scenario.The results showed that the key impact categories for both scenarios were global warming,fine particulate matter formation,human carcinogenic toxicity,and human non-carcinogenic toxicity.The overall environmental impact of the optimized scenario was reduced by 68%co.pared to the baseline scenario.A sensitivity analysis of the key factors showed that electricity from the power grid was the key impact factor in both scenarios,followed by central heating and natural gas.Therefore,to reduce the environmental impact of network systems,it is necessary to further optimize the grid power structure.The research approach can be used to optimize micro-energy networks and evaluate the environmental impact of different energy systems.

A method for detecting two-dimensional plane stress distribution in basin-type insulator based on critically refracted longitudinal wave

Basin-type insulator often has small cracks due to stress co.centration.The current method cannot accurately reflect the stress co.dition of the insulator to find the stress co.centration areas.To solve these problems,a method for detecting two-dimensional plane stress(δ_(1) andδ_(2))within different depth ranges in a basin-type insulator is proposed based on critically refracted longitudinal(LCR)wave.First,the aco.stoelastic equation characterising the relationship between the variation of LCR wave propagation time and the plane stress was derived.Next,the propagation characteristics of LCR wave in epoxy resin samples were investigated.Then,the stress distribution within different depth ranges of the insulator subjected to hydraulic load was measured using the proposed method,including direction(θ),δ_(1) andδ_(2).The results show that the magnitude of the stress alone cannot accurately characterise the stress state.Points with equal distances to the centre have similar stress magnitudes,but their directions are not the same.With increasing depth,θremains essentially unchanged at the same location,whileδ1 andδ2 decrease,and the rate of decrease varies at different locations.co.paring the measured and simulated data,the results showed that they were in good agreement,and the maximum errors of stress value andθwere 0.69 MPa and 2.97°,respectively,which co.firmed the feasibility and accuracy of the stress detection in the proposed method.

Review on regulation of MnS in non-qquenched and tempered steel

An overview of the current research status and co.trol methods of MnS in non-quenched and tempered steel was provided.As a low-melting plastic inclusion,the morphology and distribution of MnS were influenced by various production processes.Therefore,co.trol of MnS is a systematic problem that must be integrated into the entire production process.Based on the production process,the factors affecting the morphology and distribution of MnS in steel were introduced.The effects of oxygen activity,manganese,sulfur,and some alloys on MnS inclusion precipitation were summarized,mainly including MnS modification treatment and oxygen-sulfide co.posite precipitation co.trol.It is believed that MnS precipitates during the solidification process of steel,and co.trolling the solidification co.ling rate co.ld effectively regulate the size and morphology of MnS,avoiding the precipitation of II-MnS.Additionally,by changing the deformation rate,deformation amount,deformation temperature during the hot deformation process,and heating time and temperature during heat treatment,the distribution and morphology of MnS co.ld be improved.Through the fine co.trol of the above process parameters,the number of II-MnS in steel co.ld be effectively reduced,and their morphology co.ld be improved,thereby enhancing the performance of non-quenched and tempered steel and promoting its wider application.Furthermore,applying laboratory research results to industrial production is an important direction for future research efforts in this field.

Research on visual sensitivity characteristics of amorphous silico. photocells

This study delves into the feasibility of using amorphous silico. photocells as photosensitive units for retinal prostheses. Firstly, theoretical simulations co.pled with experimental results demonstrated its strong light absorption and quantum efficiency within the 300—800 nm range. Subsequently, measurements on its visual sensitivity properties were co.ducted. The findings revealed that under photopic vision co.ditions, the photocells co.ld provide the stimulating current required for the human retinal nerve cells. Finally, the visual spectral sensitivity curve of the amorphous silico. photocells was assessed, and the results indicated that the spectral sensitivity curve of the amorphous silico. photocells closely mirrors the visual function curve of the human eye under photopic co.ditions, demonstrating a response to light across various wavelengths.

The co.version of intermittent renewable electrical energy to chemical energy is of great importance which can not only mitigate current energy and environmental crisis but also co.tribute to the ongoing carbon neutrality national strategy.Electrocatalysis is serving as a low-carbon co.version technology that enables green and efficient energy co.version mainly through hydrogen evolution reaction （HER）,carbon dioxide reduction reaction（co.RR）,and nitrogen reduction reaction （NRR）.The co.e of electrocatalysis is the design and co.struction of low-co.t high-activity and high-stability electrocatalyst to drive reaction thermodynamics and kinetics.The employment of polyoxometalates （POMs） as platforms or precursors to co.struct different types of electrocatalysts has been widely reported.Herein,we systematically summarized the recent advances in POM-derived nanostructures for electrocatalysis application.The strategies for precursor design and electrocatalyst synthesis were briefly introduced.The morphology co.trol,phase co.trol,co.posite modulation,and heterostructure engineering in POM-derived nanostructures were presented in detail.The structure–activity relationship of POM-derived nanostructures is fully discussed for HER co.RR,and NRR applications.Finally,the current challenges and future outlooks of POM-derived nanostructures are summarized to provide insights toward high-efficiency electrocatalysts for energy co.version technologies.

Energy mechanism of bolt supporting effect to fissured rock under static and dynamic loads in deep co.l mines

The stability co.trol of fissured rock is difficult,especially under static and dynamic loads in deep co.l mines.In this paper,the dynamic mechanical properties,strain rate evolution and energy dissipation of fissured and anchored rocks were respectively obtained by SHPB tests.It was found that bolt can provide supporting efficiency-improving effect for fissured rock against dynamic disturbance,and this effect increased quadratically with decrease in anchoring angles.Then,the energy dissipation mechanism of anchored rock was obtained by slipping model.Furthermore,bolt energy-absorbing mechanism by instantaneous tensile-shear deformation was expressed based on material mechanics,which was the larger the anchoring angle,the smaller the energy absorption,and the less the co.tribution to supporting efficiency improvement.On this basis,the functional relationship between energy dissipation of anchored rock and energy absorption of bolt was established.Taking the co.l-gangue separation system of Longgu co.l mine as an example,the optimal anchoring angle can be determined as 57.5°–67.5°.Field monitoring showed fissured rock with the optimal anchoring angle,can not only effectively co.trol the deformation,but also fully exert the energy-absorbing and efficiency-improving effect of bolt itself.This study provides guidance to the stability co.trol and supporting design for deep engineering under the same or similar co.ditions.

Short-term prediction of on-street parking occupancy using multivariate variable based on deep learning

Short-term prediction of on-street parking occupancy is essential to the ITS system,which can guide drivers in finding vacant parking spaces.And the spatial dependencies and exogenous dependencies need to be co.sidered simultaneously,which makes short-term prediction of on-street parking occupancy challenging.Therefore,this paper proposes a deep learning model for predicting block-level parking occupancy.First,the importance of multiple points of interest(POI)in different buffers is sorted by Boruta,used for feature selection.The results show that different types of POI data should co.sider different buffer radii.Then based on the real on-street parking data,long short-term memory(LSTM)that can address the time dependencies is applied to predict the parking occupancy.The results demonstrate that LSTM co.sidering POI data after Boruta selection(LSTM(+BORUTA))outperforms other baseline methods,including LSTM,with an average testing MAPE of 11.78%.The selection process of POI data helps LSTM reduce training time and slightly improve the prediction performance,which indicates that co.plex co.relations among the same type of POI data in different buffer zones will also affect the prediction accuracy of LSTM.When there are more restaurants on both sides of the street,the prediction performance of LSTM(+BORUTA)is significantly better than that of LSTM.

Sub-Homogeneous Peridynamic Model for Fracture and Failure Analysis of Roadway Surrounding Rock

The surrounding rock of roadways exhibits intricate characteristics of disco.tinuity and heterogeneity.To address these co.plexities,this study employs non-local Peridynamics(PD)theory and reco.structs the kernel function to represent accurately the spatial decline of long-range force.Additionally,modifications to the traditional bondbased PD model are made.By co.sidering the micro-structure of co.l-rock materials within a uniform discrete model,heterogeneity characterized by bond random pre-breaking is introduced.This approach facilitates the proposal of a novel model capable of handling the random distribution characteristics of material heterogeneity,rendering the PD model suitable for analyzing the deformation and failure of heterogeneous layered co.l-rock mass structures.The established numerical model and simulation method,termed the sub-homogeneous PD model,not only inco.porates the support effect but also captures accurately the random heterogeneous micro-structure of roadway surrounding rock.The simulation results obtained using this model show good agreement with field measurements from the Fucun co.l mine,effectively validating the model’s capability in accurately reproducing the deformation and failure mode of surrounding rock under bolt-supported(anchor cable).The proposed subhomogeneous PD model presents a valuable and effective simulation tool for studying the deformation and failure of roadway surrounding rock in co.l mines,offering new insights and potential advancements.

Research on ECMS Based on Segmented Path Braking Energy Reco.ery in a Fuel Cell Vehicle

Proton exchange membrane fuel cells are widely regarded as having the potential to replace internal co.bustion engines in vehicles.Since fuel cells cannot reco.er energy and have a slow dynamic response,they need to be used with different power sources.Developing efficient energy management strategies to achieve excellent fuel eco.omy is the goal of research.This paper proposes an adaptive equivalent fuel minimum co.sumption strategy(AECMS)to solve the problem of the poor eco.omy of the whole vehicle caused by the wrong selection of equivalent factors(EF)in traditional ECMS.In this method,the kinematics interval is used to update the equivalent factor by co.sidering the penalty term of energy reco.ery on SOC changes.Finally,the optimized equivalent factor is substituted into the optimization objective function to achieve efficient energy regulation.Simulation results under the New European Driving Cycle show that co.pared with the traditional ECMS based on fixed SOC benchmarks,the proposed method improves fuel eco.omy by 1.7%while ensuring vehicle power and increases SOC by 30%.

BACKGROUND Differences in the preoperative characteristics and weight loss outco.es after sleeve gastrectomy(SG)between patients with familial aggregation of obesity(FAO)and patients with sporadic obesity(SO)have not been elucidated.AIM To explore the impact of SG on weight loss and the alleviation of obesity-related co.orbidities in individuals with FAO.METHODS A total of 193 patients with obesity who underwent SG were selected.Patients with FAO/SO were matched 1:1 by propensity sco.e matching and were categorized into 4 groups based on the number of first-degree relatives with obesity(1 SO vs 1FAO,2SO vs 2FAO).The baseline characteristics,weight loss outco.es,prevalence of obesity-related co.orbidities and incidence of major surgeryrelated co.plications were co.pared between groups.RESULTS We defined FAO as the presence of two or more first-degree relatives with obesity.Patients with FAO did not initially show significant differences in baseline data,short-term postoperative weight loss,or obesity-related co.orbidities when co.pared to patients with SO preoperatively.However,distinctions between the two groups became evident at the two-year mark,with statistically significant differences in both percentage of total weight loss(P=0.006)and percentage of excess weight loss(Pgroup exhibited weaker remission of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)(P=0.031),hyperlipidemia(P=0.012),and non-alco.olic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)(P=0.003)as well as a lower incidence of acid reflux(P=0.038).co.CLUSION FAO patients is associated with decreased mid-to-long-term weight loss outco.es;the alleviation of T2DM,hyperlipidemia and NAFLD;and decreased incidence of acid reflux postoperatively.
