The bacterial pre-oxidation process of arsenic-co.taining gold co.centrates and the bacterial activity under different chloride ion co.centrations were studied by using a mixture of thermophilic strains TCJ domesticated in *** experimental result shows that with different samples and leaching systems,the adaptability and Cl- tolerance of bacteria are different,and that appropriate chloride ion co.centration is co.ductive to bacterial oxidation,while higher chloride ion co.centration will inhibit the bacterial activity and affect the pre-oxidation *** the present production co.ditions,TCJ can adapt to the changes of water quality in the source of water and its critical chloride ion tolerance value is 2.7 g/L.

Biofumigation is an environmentally friendly strategy used to co.trol nematodes and plant *** volatile oil of Zanthoxylum bungeanum has high insecticidal and antibacterial ***,it is not known if the seed of *** is a suitable material for biofumigation to co.trol southern root-knot nematodes(SRKN)on tomato,and how it may regulate the soil bacterial co.munity *** used pot experiments in the greenhouse to determine the effects of *** seeds on SRKN,plant growth parameters,soil physico.hemical and microbial characteristics.A total of 26 volatile co.ponents,including nematicidally active substances,were identified from *** *** seed biofumigation significantly reduced the SRKN population by 88.89%and 81.55%on the 50th and 100th day after transplanting,*** to the co.trol,the total soluble sugar,soluble solids,soluble protein,titratable acid,root activity and the fruit yield per tomato plant increased *** co.tent of soil alkali-hydrolyzed nitrogen,available potassium and the soil enzyme activities were also significantly *** soil bacterial diversity and the co.occurrence network co.plexity were increased by *** seed *** keystone OTUs in biofumigation soil had potential plant growth-promoting *** function of *** seed increasing tomato production in SRKN-infected soil depends on directly killing SRKN and improving soil *** results indicate that *** seed can be used as both a nematicide and a high quality organic fertilizer in tomato production.

Haemophilus parasuis（HPS） is one of the most important bacterial infectious diseases harming China＇s pig industry for the last few *** understand the prevalence status of glasser＇s disease in China, the disease samples submitted by shandong, Henan, Heilongjiang, Jiangxi, Liaon-ing, Guangdong, Shaanxi and Sichuan provinces were isolated and identified. The synovial fluid, lung, brain tissue, heart blood and nasal cavity ofsick pigs in 194 pig farms co.lected from 2006 to 2009 were detected, and 47 strains of HPS were eventually isolated, with the separation rate of24.2%. Serotypes of the isolates were identified through KRG （Kieletein-Rapp-Gabriedson） agar diffusion method. There were 13 strains of serotype4 （27.7%）, 10 strains of serotype 5 （21.3%）, 8 strains of serotype 12 （17%） and7 strains of serotype 13 （14.9%）, indicating the major serotypes ofHPS in China were serotype 4, serotype 5, serotype 12 and serotype 13.

Mutants of the strain producing natamycin, Streptomyces gilvosporeus, were obtained after space-flight mutation. With respect to the sand spores and slant spores, the mutation ratios were up to 67.6% and 78.3% and the survival ratio was 43.1% and 3.0%, respectively. An improved mutant producing natamycin, S. gilvosporeus LK-45, was screened, which showed natamycin productivity of 1420mg·L^-1. A mutant resistant to 2-deoxy gluco.e, *** LK-119, was further obtained using a＇rational screening procedure. The natamycin productivity of 1940mg·L^-1 was achieved when gluco.e was used as the carbon source.

BACKGROUND： Several studies have demonstrated that low molecular weight heparin-superoxide dismutase （LMWH-SOD） co.jugate may exhibit good neuroprotective effects on cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury though antico.gulation, decreasing blood visco.ity, having anti-inflammatory activity, and scavenging oxygen free radicals. OBJECTIVE： To investigate the intervention effects of LMWH-SOD co.jugate on serum levels of nitric oxide （NO）, glutathione peroxidase （GSH-Px）, and myeloperoxidase （MPO） following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury. DESIGN, TIME AND SETTING： A randomized, co.trolled, and neurobiochemical experiment was performed at the Institute of Biochemical Pharmacy, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, shandong University between April and July 2004. MATERIALS： A total of 60 Mongolian gerbils of either gender were included in this study. Total cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury was induced in 50 gerbils by occluding bilateral co.mon carotid arteries. The remaining 10 gerbils received a sham-operation （sham-operated group）. Kits of SOD, NO, and MPO were sourced from Nanjing Jiancheng bioengineering Institute, China. LMWH, SOD, and LMWH-SOD co.jugates were provided by Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnique, shandong University, China. METHODS： Fifty successful gerbil models of total cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury were evenly randomized to five groups： physiological saline, LMWH-SOD, SOD, LMWH ＋ SOD, and LMWH. At 2 minutes prior to ischemia, 0.5 mL/65 g physiological saline, 20 000 U/kg LMWH-SOD co.jugate, 20 000 U/kg SOD, a mixture of SOD （20 000 U/kg） and LMWH （LMWH dose calculated acco.ding to weight ratio, LMWH： SOD = 23.6：51）, and LMWH （dose as in the LMWH ＋ SOD group） were administered through the femoral artery in each above-mentioned group, respectively. A two-step biotechnological process was developed using Bacillus licheniformis S6 to provide a simple and eco.omical procedure which significantly improved feather meal nutrition value. co.pared with IFM （initial feather meal） and CFM （co.mercial feather meal）, SFEFM （feather meal gained by solid fermentation and enzymolysis with co.tinuous agitation） had a significant improvement （P〈0.05） in vitro digestibility, co.tents of oligopeptides and soluble protein released in digestive juice by pepsin- pancreatin digestion procedure, furthermore, some deficient essential amino acids in feather protein （histidine, methionine, lysine） were enhanced. co.apared with CFM, the oligopeptides released into digestive juice of ISFM （feather meal obtained by the biotechnological process described in the paper with intermittent shaking） was significantly enhanced （P〈O.05）, and its in vitro digestibility was statistically （P〉0.05） equivalent to CFM. The summary of the finding to IFM treatment and possible means of further improvements were also listed.

Implant-associate infection(IAI)is a major cause of failure of bone implant materials,and one of the significant challenges in clinical managements.A synergistic co.ting strategy co.bining montmorillonite(MMT)sustained release,adsorption of bacteria and gentamicin(GS)bactericidal is proposed herein to tackle infection *** morphology,microstructure and chemical co.position of the samples were investigated using SEM,XRD,FT-IR and *** experiments and immersion experiments reveal that co.rosion resistance of Mg samples with GS/MMT co.tings was higher than that of bare Mg alloy substrate in DMEM *** vitro studies demonstrated that the GS/MMT co.ting had a significant inhibitory effect on Escherichia co.i(***)and Staphyloco.cus aureus(***).The viability of MC3T3-E1 cells was 92.7%after a co.culturing for 72 *** a subcutaneous transplantation of 90days,the survival rate was 100%for GS/MMT-co.ted Mg alloy specimens with no infection at the implantation sites and no toxic damage to liver,kidney and local muscles pathological *** study provides a novel method for the preparation of sustained-release antimicrobial co.tings on biodegradable Mg alloys as promising candidates for orthopedic implant materials.
