Typhoon Case Comparison Analysis Between Heterogeneous Many-Core and Homogenous Multicore Supercomputing Platforms

In this paper,a typical experiment is carried out based on a high-resolution air-sea coupled model,namely,the coupled ocean-atmosphere-wave-sediment transport(COAWST)model,on both heterogeneous many-core(SW)and homogenous multicore(Intel)supercomputing *** construct a hindcast of Typhoon Lekima on both the SW and Intel platforms,compare the simulation results between these two platforms and compare the key elements of the atmospheric and ocean modules to reanalysis *** comparative experiment in this typhoon case indicates that the domestic many-core computing platform and general cluster yield almost no differences in the simulated typhoon path and intensity,and the differences in surface pressure(PSFC)in the WRF model and sea surface temperature(SST)in the short-range forecast are very small,whereas a major difference can be identified at high latitudes after the first 10 *** heat budget analysis verifies that the differences in SST after 10 days are mainly caused by shortwave radiation variations,as influenced by subsequently generated typhoons in the *** typhoons generated in the hindcast after the first 10 days attain obviously different trajectories between the two platforms.

CoP: An Ultra-Lightweight Secure network Coding Scheme via Last Forwarder's Proof

network coding can improve network efficiency by extending copy-and-forward paradigm to code-and- forward paradigm. It thus imposes a security problem called pollution attack that some network coding or forwarding nodes may intentionally fabricate, modify, forge, or drop packets. Recently, many authentication methods are proposed to guarantee the correctness of encoding and forwarding results via the verification from receivers. Those methods include homomorphic hashing, homomorphic message authentication code, and homomorphic signature. However, those schemes result in expensive computation overhead due to the homomorphic cryptographic primitives, so that those methods will not be able to work in most applications that confront resource constraints. In this paper, we propose an ultra-lightweight checking protocol to guarantee the secure network coding without any homomorphic cryptographic primitives. The extensive analysis proofs that it has following advantages： the least security assumption for intermediate nodes, the least cryptographic primitive requirement, ultra-lightweight computation, flexible message length with probably proof, and minimal rounds in terms of message exchanging.

network virtualization can effectively establish dedicated virtual networks to implement various network ***,the existing research works have some shortcomings,for example,although computing resource properties of individual nodes are considered,node storage properties and the network topology properties are usually ignored in Virtual network(VN)modelling,which leads to the inaccurate measurement of node availability and *** addition,most static virtual network mapping methods allocate fixed resources to users during the entire life cycle,and the users’actual resource requirements vary with the workload,which results in resource allocation *** on the above analysis,in this paper,we propose a dynamic resource sharing virtual network mapping algorithm named NMA-PRS-VNE,first,we construct a new,more realistic network framework in which the properties of nodes include computing resources,storage resources and topology *** the node mapping process,three properties of the node are used to measure its mapping ***,we consider the resources of adjacent nodes and links instead of the traditional method of measuring the availability and priority of nodes by considering only the resource properties,so as to more accurately select the physical mapping nodes that meet the constraints and conditions and improve the success rate of subsequent link ***,we divide the resource requirements of Virtual network Requests(VNRs)into basic subrequirements and variable sub-variable requirements to complete dynamic resource *** former represents monopolizing resource requirements by the VNRs,while the latter represents shared resources by many VNRs with the probability of occupying resources,where we keep a balance between resource sharing and collision among users by calculating the collision *** results show that the proposed NMAPRS-VNE can increase the average acceptance rate and network revenu

A flexible technique to select objects via convolutional neural network in VR space

Most studies on the selection techniques of projection-based VR systems are dependent on users wearing complex or expensive input devices, however there are lack of more convenient selection *** this paper, we propose a flexible 3 D selection technique in a large display projection-based virtual environment. Herein, we present a body tracking method using convolutional neural network(CNN) to estimate3 D skeletons of multi-users, and propose a region-based selection method to effectively select virtual objects using only the tracked fingertips of multi-users. Additionally, a multi-user merge method is introduced to enable users’ actions and perception to realign when multiple users observe a single stereoscopic *** comparing with state-of-the-art CNN-based pose estimation methods, the proposed CNN-based body tracking method enables considerable estimation accuracy with the guarantee of real-time performance. In addition, we evaluate our selection technique against three prevalent selection techniques and test the performance of our selection technique in a multi-user scenario. The results show that our selection technique significantly increases the efficiency and effectiveness, and is of comparable stability to support multi-user interaction.

Intelligent handoff decision in radio heterogeneous network

Abstract： In order to improve the accuracy of vertical handoff decision for radio heterogeneous network, this paper proposes an intelligent adaptive multi-criteria vertical handoff （AMVHO） decision algorithm. This algo- rithm uses a fuzzy inference system （FIS） and a modified Elman neural network （MENN）. The FIS adopts the crucial criteria of vertical handoff as input variables and makes handoff decision based on the defined rule base. The MENN helps to predict the number of users of the after-handoff network, which is a pivotal variable of the FIS. Simulation results show that, compared with the conventional method, the AMVHO decision algorithm a- chieves better performance in guaranteeing the quality of service （QoS） of the after-handoff communication.

Potential Distribution of Seagrass Meadows Based on the MaxEnt Model in Chinese Coastal Waters

Seagrass meadows are generally diverse in China and have become important ecosystem with essential ***,the seagrass distribution across the seawaters of China has not been evaluated,and the magnitude and direction of changes in seagrass meadows remain *** study aimed to provide a nationwide seagrass distribution map and explore the dynamic changes in seagrass population under global climate *** studies were performed using the modeling software MaxEnt with 58961 occurrence records and 27 marine environmental variables to predict the potential distribution of seagrasses and calculate the *** environmental variables were excluded from the modeling processes based on a correlation analysis to ensure predicted *** predicted area was 790.09 km^(2),which is much larger than the known seagrass distribution in China(87.65 km^(2)).By 2100,the suitable habitat of seagrass will shift northwest and increase to 923.62 *** of the sum of the individual family under-pre-dicted the national distribution of seagrasses and consistently showed a downward trend in the *** of all environmental vari-ables,physical parameters(e.g.,depth,land distance,and sea surface temperature)contributed the most in predicting seagrass distri-butions,and nutrients(e.g.,nitrate,phosphate)ranked among the key influential predictors for habitat suitability in our study *** study is the first effort to fill a gap in understanding the distribution of seagrasses in *** studies using modeling and biological/ecological approaches are warranted.

Difficulty-aware prior-guided hierarchical network for adaptive segmentation of breast tumors

Breast tumor segmentation is vital to tumor detection at the early stages. Deep learning methods are typically used in automatic tumor segmentation tasks. However, in existing methods, the difference between pixels is disregarded, and the union network architecture is used to segment all pixels; these methods involve a tradeoff between accuracy and efficiency. A novel, difficulty-aware, prior-guided hierarchical network for the adaptive segmentation of breast tumors is presented herein. A difficulty prior learning module is proposed to learn the pixel’s difficulty prior to guild adaptive segmentation in the proposed network. To achieve a more accurate segmentation of hard pixels, a hard pixel processing unit is presented to learn more discriminative features for hard pixels. Experiments are conducted based on three datasets. The experimental results show that the proposed methods outperform traditional deep learning methods and achieve a balance between accuracy and efficiency.

In a group of images,the recurrent foreground objects are considered as the key objects in the group of *** co-saliency detection,these are described as common saliency *** aim is to be able to naturally guide the user's gaze to these common salient *** guiding the user's gaze,users can easily find these common saliency objects without interference from other ***,a method is proposed for reducing user visual attention based on co-saliency *** the co-saliency detection algorithm and matting algorithm for image preprocessing,the exact position of non-common saliency objects(called Region of Interest here,***)in the image group can be *** the attention retargeting algorithm,the internal features of the image to adjust the saliency of the ROI areas are *** the HSI colour space,the three components H,S,and I are adjusted ***,the hue distribution is constructed by the Dirac kernel function,and then the most similar hue distribution to the sur-rounding environment is selected as the best hue distribution of ROI *** S and I components can be set as the contrast difference between ROI areas and surrounding background areas according to the user's *** results show that this method effectively reduces the ROI areas'attraction to the user's visual ***,comparing this method with other methods,the saliency adjustment effect achieved is much better,and the processed image is more natural.

Reconstruction of plasmoid and traveling compression region in the near-Earth magnetotail

Cluster spacecraft observed an earthward flowing plasmoid along with a travelling compression region （TCR） structure in southern plasma sheet boundary layer （PSBL） at 21：09 UT of September 19, 2001. We have reconstructed the two-dimensional topology of the magnetic field structure observed by C1 using Grad-Shafranov reconstruction method. Results show that CI passed through part of a plasmoid, which compressed the lobe magnetic field and formed a TCR. The size of the whole plas- moid structure in X direction is estimated to be about 3 Re. Furthermore, using multi-spacecraft observations, we have found some detailed information about this structure. First, C1 observed bi-streaming electron components, which supports our sug- gestion that the spacecraft passed through closed field lines. Second, a small magnetic field perturbation within this plasmoid accompanied by slight decrease in electron flux suggests that a flux rope core might exist at the center of the plasmoid.
