Correlation between anxiety, depression, and social stress in young patients with thoracolumbar spine fractures

Efficacy and safety of Tuomin Zhiti decoction(脱敏止嚏汤) on patients with seasonal allergic rhinitis: A randomized， double-blind， placebo-controlled trial

Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of Tuomin Zhiti decoction (TZD) in the short-term treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis (SAR). Methods: This study is a randomized， double-blind placebo-controlled， and single-center clinical trial. In April 2021， during the spring pollen season in Beijing， 94 SAR patients aged 19-60 years were randomized (1:1 ratio) to receive two weeks of TZD or placebo. The primary outcome was the change of Total Nasal Symptom Score (TNSS) and Total Ocular Symptom Score (TOSS) from baseline to the end of treatment. Secondary outcomes were the changed score of the mini Rhinoconjunctivitis Quality of Life Questionnaire (RQLQ)， Rescue Medication Score (RMS)， and Patient Global Impression of Change (PGIC). All adverse events were recorded and evaluated by two senior physicians. Results: TZD significantly reduced both the total nasal symptom scores and total ocular symptom scores compared to scores at baseline， while the placebo group showed an increasing trajectory in both symptom scores. Compared to the placebo group， the TZD group also showed a greater improvement in the quality of life， scores of RMS， nasal and eye symptoms scores after TZD treatment (P < 0.001). Most notably， at the end of treatment， the proportion of remission measured by PGIC was significantly higher in the TZD group (82.97%) compared with the placebo group (47.72%， P < 0.001). Conclusion: This study suggested that two weeks of TZD is an effective and safe treatment for SAR patients and spring pollen allergy， TZD could significantly improve the nasal and eye symptoms and improve the quality of life of patients.

Meta analysis of the curative effect of acupuncture on post-stroke depression

OBJECTIVE:To systematically evaluate the curative effect of acupuncture on post-stroke depression(PSD).METHODS:The internet was used to retrieve the Wanfang Medical Data System,Chinese Periodical Net,the Weipu Information Resources System,PubMed and the Cochrane Library *** articles,up to September 2010,were manually *** papers included studies that had performed random and semi-random control trials for the use of acupuncture to treat *** random control tests involving 1096 patients were included in this study and individual cases,interventional measures and curative effects were extracted from this *** methodological quality evaluation and meta-analysis were performed on these ***:Comparison between the acupuncture group and the Western medicine group for the curative rate on PSD revealed an OR of 1.48,95% CI = [1.11 1.97] and P=*** of obviously effective rate shows that OR=1.39,95% CI=[1.08 1.80] and P=*** of effective rate showsthatOR=0.83,95%CI=[0.631.09]andP=***:Comparison between the acupuncture group and Western medicine group in treating PSD revealed that there is a statistical difference in curative rate and remarkably effective rate,but no difference in effective rate.

Effects of mild-warming moxibustion on Bcl-2 and PKC expressions of peripheral blood in elderly people

OBJECTIVE:To explore the anti-aging effects of mild-warming moxibustion on Bcl-2 and PKC expression in peripheral blood and general symptoms in elderly ***:A total of 61 elderly people and 30 non-elderly people were *** total effective rate of mild-warming moxibustion was assessed by symptom scores,and Bcl-2 and PKC expression in peripheral blood was detected by flow ***:The total effective rate in the mild-warming moxibustion group was significantly higher than in the blank control group(P<0.01).Bcl-2 and PKC expression rates in peripheral blood in the blank control group were lower than in the normal control group(P<0.01),but higher after mild-warming moxibustion(P<0.01).CONCLUSION:The anti-aging effects of mild-warm-ing moxibustion may be due to increased Bcl-2 and PKC expression in peripheral blood in aged people.

Inhibitory effect of Fuzheng Yiliuyin in combination with chemotherapeutics on human gastric carcinoma cell strain

AIM： To study the inhibitory effects of Fuzheng Yiliuyin （Decoction for Suppressing Tumors by Strengthening the Body Resistance） in combination with chemotherapeutics on human gastric carcinoma cell strain. METHODS： Fuzheng Yiliuyin （ZY） combined with various kinds of chemotherapeutics was put into two kinds of cultivated human gastric carcinoma cell strains, then its inhibitory effects on human gastric carcinoma cell strains were determind by the MTT method. Flow cytorneter was used to assay the apoptosis rate, and the ultrastructure of gastric carcinoma cells was observed under transmission electron microscope. RESULTS： Obvious apoptosis was seen in gastric carcinoma cells after treatment with ZY for 72 h. ZY and chemical drugs had synergistic inhibition effects on the cultivated gastric carcinoma cells, but the effects were different on various cell strains. The inhibitory effects of ZY could be strengthened by cytotoxic action and apoptosis. ZY combined with tluorouracil, etoposide and cisplatin （EFP） chemotherapeutics had better inhibitory effects on SGC-7901, while ZY combined with EFP or with DDP chemotherapeutics had better inhibitory effects than other drugs on MGC-803. CONCLUSION： ZY induces apoptosis and inhibits the growth of gastric carcinoma cells. ZY has the synergistic function of chemotherapeutics.

Effect of Zuogui pill and Yougui pill on osteoporosis： a randomized controlled trial

OBJECTIVE： To evaluate the effect and safety of Zuogui pill and Yougui pill, classic Y/n and Yang tonic formula （CYYTF）, in the treatment of osteoporosis and the underlying mechanism. METHODS： Participants aged 55 to 75 with osteoporosis and Kidney deficiency in Traditional Chi-nese Medicine （tcm） will be included and randomly allocated into two groups： treatment group and control group. Participants in the treatment group were treated with Zuogui pill or Yougui pill tcm formula granule, while the control group received pla- cebo. Primary outcomes are the lumbar spine on bone mineral density （BMD）（L1-4） and femoral BMD. Secondary outcomes include pain intensity, health-related quality of life （HRQoL）, bone turn- over markers and safety. RESULTS： Totally 200 patients were enrolled from December 2014 to April 2016 from four hospitals. There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups at baseline （P 〉 0.05） and it was good to comparability. Statistically signifi- cant differences between the two groups were ob- served for the lumbar BMD （L1-4）, pain VAS scores and HRQoL at six months and twelve months and femoral BMD at twelve months （P 〈 0.05）, but no significant differences for femoral BMD and bone turnover markers at six months （P 〉 0.05）. More- over, significant difference was observed at differ- ent time before and after treatment in terms of lum- bar spine （L1-4） BMD, femoral BMD, pain VAS scores and health-related quality of life, and there was an crossover effect between the time and groups be- fore and after treatment. In additional, in the treat- ment group, 8 patients lost to follow-up and 3 patients had adverse events （AEs） and in the control group, 10 patients lost to follow-up and 2 patients had AEs. No remarkable differences were observed between the two groups with regard to AEs, lost rate and safety （P 〉 0.05）. Mechanistic studies of the transport of peimine in the Caco-2 cell model

Fritillaria thunbergii Miq. has been widely used in traditional Chinese medicine for its expectorant, antitussive, antiinflammatory and analgesic properties. Moreover, modern pharmacological studies have demonstrated that F. thunbergii Miq. has efficacy in the treatment of leukemia and cancers of the liver and cervix. Although the alkaloid, peimine, is largely responsible for these pharmacological effects, it has very low oral bioavailability. The aim of this study was to investigate the intestinal absorption of peimine in Caco-2 cell monolayers. Having demonstrated that peimine is non-toxic to Caco-2 cells at concentrations o200 μmol/L, the effect of peimine concentration, p H, temperature, efflux transport protein inhibitors and EDTA-Na_2 on peimine transport were studied. The results show that peimine transport is concentration-dependent; that at p H 6.0 and 7.4, the P_(app(AP-BL))of peimine is not significantly different but the Papp(BL-AP)) is; that both Papp(AP-BL)and P_(app(BL-AP))at 4 1C are significantly higher than their corresponding values at 37 1C; that the P-glycoprotein(P-gp) inhibitors, verapamil and cyclosporin A, increase absorption of peimine; and that EDTA-Na2 has no discernible effect. In summary,the results demonstrate that the intestinal absorption of peimine across Caco-2 cell monolayers involves active transport and that peimine is a substrate of P-gp.
