A Sand Control and development Model in Sandy Land Based on Mixed Experiments of Arsenic Sandstone and Sand: A Case Study in Mu Us Sandy Land in China

Serious desertification caused by human activity and climate change,in addition to water loss and soil erosion related to arsenic sandstone in the Mu Us Sandy Land,lead to severe scarcity of soil and water resources,which causes worse local agricultural conditions *** physical properties of arsenic sandstone is complementary with that of sand,arsenic sandstone is therefore supposed to be blended to enhance water productivity and arability of sandy *** experiments are carried out to study the enhancement of water holding capacity of the mixture,the blending ratio of arsenic sandstone and sand,and the proper size of the arsenic sandstone particles,*** results of the experiments show that particle size of 4 cm with a ratio of 1∶2 between arsenic sandstone and sand are the proper parameters on *** water content and fertility increase after *** use efficiency in the mixture is 2.7 times higher than that in sand by the water release curves from ***,a new sand control and development model,including arsenic sandstone blending with sand,efficient water irrigation management and reasonable farming system,is put forward to control and develop sandy land so that water-saving agriculture could be *** of potato planting about 153.1 ha in area in the Mu Us Sandy Land in China indicates that water consumption is 3018 m3/ha in the whole growth *** means that about 61%of irrigation water can be saved compared with water use in coarse sand without *** economic mode and positive feedback of sand resource-crop planting-soil resource are constructed,which changes sand into arable soil and make it possible to develop water-saving agriculture on *** proposed model will be helpful for soil-water resources utilization and management in the Mu Us Sandy Land.

A Verifiable Trust-Based CP-ABE Access Control Scheme for Cloud-Assisted Renewable Energy Systems

Renewable Energy Systems(RES)provide a sustainable solution to climate warming and environmental pollution by enhancing stability and reliability through status acquisition and analysis on cloud platforms and intelligent processing on edge servers(ES).However,securely distributing encrypted data stored in the cloud to terminals that meet decryption requirements has become a prominent research ***,managing attributes,including addition,deletion,and modification,is a crucial issue in the access control scheme for *** address these security concerns,a trust-based ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption(CP-ABE)device access control scheme is proposed for RES(TB-CP-ABE).This scheme effectivelymanages the distribution and control of encrypted data on the cloud through robust attribute key *** introducing trust management mechanisms and outsourced decryption technology,the ES system can effectively assess and manage the trust worthiness of terminal devices,ensuring that only trusted devices can participate in data exchange and access sensitive ***,the ES system dynamically evaluates trust scores to set decryption trust thresholds,thereby regulating device data access permissions and enhancing the system’s *** validate the security of the proposed TB-CP-ABE against chosen plaintext attacks,a comprehensive formal security analysis is conducted using the widely accepted random oraclemodel under the decisional q-Bilinear Diffie-Hellman Exponent(q-BDHE)***,comparative analysis with other schemes demonstrates that the TB-CP-ABE scheme cuts energy/communication costs by 43%,and scaleswell with rising terminals,maintaining average latency below 50ms,ensuring real-time service *** proposed scheme not only provides newinsights for the secure management of RES but also lays a foundation for future secure energy solutions.

Spatio-Temporal Changes of Soil Salinity in Arid Areas of South Xinjiang Using Electromagnetic Induction

The aim of this paper was to research the spatio-temporal changes in total soluble salt content （TS） in a typical arid region of South Xinjiang, China, where the climate is arid and soil salinization happens easily. The total soluble salt content was interpreted by measurements made in the horizontal mode with EM38 and EM31. The electromagnetic induction （EM） surveys were made three times with the apparent soil electrical conductivity （ECa） measurements taken at 3 873 locations in Nov. 2008, 4 807 locations in Apr. 2009 and 6 324 locations in Nov. 2009, respectively. For interpreting the ECa measurements into total soluble salt content, calibtion sites were needed for EM survey of each time, e.g., 66 sites were selected in Nov. 2008 to measure ECa, and soils-core samples were taken by different depth layers of 0-10, 10-20 and 20-40 cm at the same time. On every time duplicate samples were taken at five sites to allevaite the local-scale variability, and soil temperatures in different layers through the profiles were also measured. Factors including TS, pH, water content, bulk density were analyzed by lab experiments. ECa calibration equations were obtained by linear regression analysis, which indicated that soil salinity was one primary concern to ECa with a determination coefficient of 0.792 in 0-10 cm layer, 0.711 in 10-20 cm layer and 0.544 in 20-40 cm layer, respectively. The maps of spatial distribution were predicted by Kriging interpolation, which showed that the high soil salinity was located near the drainage canal, which validated the trend effect caused by the irrigation canal and the drainage canal. And by comparing the soil salinity in different layers, the soluble salt accumulated to the top soil surface only in the area where the soil salinization was serious, and in the other areas, the soil salinity trended to increase from the top soil surface to 40 cm depth. Polarization Projection for 3D Geometry-Based Stochastic Channel Model

Comprehensive radiation characteristics of polarized antenna are crucial in creating practical channel coefficients for next generation wireless communication system *** currently supported within3 D geometry-based stochastic channel models(GSCM),field patterns are technically obtained by chamber measurement(or by its best fitting).However,in some channel related performance analysis scenarios,design insight can be crystallized better by starting the derivations with theoretical co-polarization and cross-polarization ***,these two components are mathematically linked with field patterns through the proposed polarization projection *** this manuscript,we focus on revealing the transformation criterion of polarization states between the antenna plane and the propagation *** practice,it makes retrieving the field patterns by electromagnetic computation ***,the impact imposed by distinct antenna orientations is geometrically illustrated and consequently incorporated into the proposed *** will further facilitate flexible performance evaluation of related radio transmission *** conclusions are verified by the closed-form expression of the dipole field pattern(via an analytical approach) and by chamber measurement ***,we find that its 2D degenerative case is aligned with the definitions in 3^(rd) generation partnership project(3GPP)technical report *** most obvious benefit of the proposed algorithm is to significantly reduce the cost on generating channel coefficients in GSCM simulation.

Software defined industrial network architecture for edge computing offloading

The integration of the Internet and the traditional manufacturing industry makes the industrial Internet of things(IIoT) as a popular research topic. However, traditional industrial networks continue to face challenges of resource management and limited raw data storage and computation capacity. A novel software defined industrial network(SDIN) architecture was proposed to address the existing drawbacks in IIoT such as resource utilization, data processing and storage, and system compatibility. The architecture is developed based on the software defined network(SDN) architecture, combining hierarchical cloud and fog computing and content-aware caching technologies. Based on the SDIN architecture, two types of edge computing strategies in industrial applications are discussed. Different scenarios and service requirements are considered. The simulation results confirm that the SDIN architecture is feasible and effective in the application of edge computing offloading.

Algorithm for source recovery in underdetermined blind source separation based on plane pursuit

In order to achieve accurate recovery signals under the underdetermined circumstance in a comparatively short time,an algorithm based on plane pursuit(PP) is proposed. The proposed algorithm selects the atoms according to the correlation between received signals and hyper planes, which are composed by column vectors of the mixing matrix, and uses these atoms to recover source signals. Simulation results demonstrate that the PP algorithm has low complexity and higher accuracy as compared with basic pursuit(BP), orthogonal matching pursuit(OMP), and adaptive sparsity matching pursuit(ASMP) algorithms.

ANALYSIS OF BATCH ARRIVAL QUEUE WITH RANDOMIZED VACATION POLICY AND AN UN-RELIABLE SERVER

This paper examines an M[x]/G/1 queueing system with an unreliable server and a delayed repair, in which the server operates a randomized vacation policy with multiple vacations. Whenever the system is empty, the server immediately takes a,vacation. If there is at least one customer found waiting in the queue upon returning from a vacation, the server will be immediately activated for service. Otherwise, if no customers are waiting for service at the end of a vacation, the server either remains idle with probability p or leaves for another vacation with probability 1 -p. Whenever one or more customers arrive when the server is idle, the server immediately starts providing service for the arrivals. The server may also meet an unpredictable breakdown and the repair may be delayed. For such a system the authors derive the distributions of some important system characteristics, such as the system size distribution at a random epoch and at a departure epoch, the system size distribution at the busy period initiation epoch, and the distribution of the idle period and the busy period. The authors perform a numerical analysis for changes in the system characteristics, along with changes in specific values of the system parameters. A cost effectiveness maximization model is constructed to explain the benefits of such a queueing system.

High Oxygen Nanocomposite Barrier Films Based on Xylan and Nanocrystalline Cellulose

The goal of this work is to produce nanocomposite film with low oxygen permeability by casting an aqueous solution containing xylan,sorbitol and nanocrystalline *** morphology of the resulting nanocomposite films was examined by scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy which showed that control films containing xylan and sorbitol had a more open structure as compared to xylan-sorbitol films containing sulfonated nanocrystalline *** average pore diameter,bulk density,porosity and tortuosity factor measurements of control xylan films and nanocomposite xylan films were examined by mercury intrusion porosimetry *** films reinforced with nanocrystalline cellulose were denser and exhibited higher tortuosity factor than the control xylan *** xylan films had average pore diameter,bulk density,porosity and tortuosity factor of 0.1730 μm,0.6165 g/ml,53.0161% and 1.258,respectively as compared to xylan films reinforced with 50% nanocrystalline cellulose with average pore diameter of 0.0581 μm,bulk density of 1.1513 g/ml,porosity of 22.8906% and tortuosity factor of *** transmission rate tests demonstrated that films prepared with xylan,sorbitol and 5%,10%,25% and 50% sulfonated nanocrystalline cellulose exhibited a significantly reduced oxygen permeability of 1.1387,1.0933,0.8986 and 0.1799 cm^3×μm/m^2×d×k Pa respectively with respect to films prepared solely from xylan and sorbitol with a oxygen permeability of 189.1665 cm^3×μm/m^2×d×k *** properties suggested these nanocomposite films have promising barrier properties.
