Thyroid hormones play essential roles in spermatogenesis,but their effects on infertile males remain poorly *** study aimed to evaluate the impact of combining carbimazole(CBZ)with vitamin E(VE)on testicular injury induced by experimental hyperthyroidism in adult albino rats,focusing on oxidative,inflammatory,and apoptotic *** this experimental study,64 adult male albino Wistar rats were divided into eight groups:Group I(control-untreated),Group II(CBZ-control),Group III(VE-control),Group IV(CBZ+VE-control),Group V(levothyroxine-induced testicular injury),Group VI(levothyroxine+CBZ-treated),Group VII(levothyroxine+VE-treated),and Group VIII(levothyroxine+CBZ+VE-treated).The study was conducted in the Faculty of medicine,Suez Canal University(Ismailia,Egypt).After cervical decapitation,both testes and epididymis were examined histopathologically and *** differences were observed among groups concerning malondialdehyde(MDA),glutathione(GSH),superoxide dismutase(SOD),and catalase(CAT;all P<0.001).Polymerase chain reaction analysis showed significant differences in tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-10(IL-10),Bcl-2-associated X protein(BAX),B-cell lymphoma 2 protein(Bcl2),p53,Caspase-3,Caspase-8,Caspase-9,and nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)mRNA levels(all P<0.001).Hyperthyroid group treated with CBZ alone(Group VI)exhibited testicular side effects,affecting seminiferous tubules and ***,the Group VIII showed improved spermatogenesis and a decrease in testicular side *** addition of VE to the treatment of hyperthyroid rats with CBZ reduced testicular side effects and seminiferous tubular affection when potentially improving *** research is needed to elucidate the underlying mechanisms fully.

Myocardial damage resulting from acute myocardial infarction often leads to progressive heart failure and sudden death, highlighting the urgent clinical need for effective therapies. Recently, tanshinone IIA has been identified as a promising therapeutic agent for myocardial infarction. However, efficient delivery remains a major issue that limits clinical translation. To address this problem, an injectable thermosensitive poly(lactic acid-co-glycolic acid)-block-poly(ethylene glycol)-block-poly(lactic acid-co-glycolic acid) gel(PLGA-PEG-PLGA) system encapsulating tanshinone IIA-loaded reactive oxygen species-sensitive microspheres(Gel-MS/tanshinone IIA) has been designed and synthesized in this study. The thermosensitive hydrogel exhibits good mechanical properties after reaching body temperature. Microspheres initially immobilized by the gel exhibit excellent reactive oxygen speciestriggered release properties in a high-reactive oxygen species environment after myocardial infarction onset. As a result, encapsulated tanshinone IIA is effectively released into the infarcted myocardium, where it exerts local antipyroptotic and anti-inflammatory effects. Importantly, the combined advantages of this technique contribute to the mitigation of left ventricular remodeling and the restoration of cardiac function following tanshinone ***, this novel, precision-guided intra-tissue therapeutic system allows for customized local release of tanshinone IIA, presenting a promising alternative treatment strategy aimed at inducing beneficial ventricular remodeling in the post-infarct heart.

BACKGROUND Childhood bronchial asthma(BA)is a chronic inflammatory respiratory *** conditions,including zinc deficiency,can affect such allergic *** To outline the difference in serum zinc levels between asthmatic children and healthy *** A cross-sectional study was carried out at Children’s Hospital,Cairo University,investigating serum zinc levels in children with BA(n=40)and healthy children(n=21).Other markers included serum ferritin,iron,hemoglobin(Hb),and immunoglobulin E(IgE)*** t-tests and Mann-Whinny tests were used for *** Kruskal-Wallis test was applied to compare serum ferritin and IgE levels with regard to asthma ***'s rank correlation was performed to explore the relationship between serum ferritin levels and both iron and Hb levels in asthmatic *** Children with BA had higher levels of zinc,yet the difference was not significant(P=0.115).Serum ferritin and IgE levels were significantly higher in asthmatic children(P=0.006 and 0.001,respectively),yet their levels did not differ significantly by severity(P=0.623 and 0.126,respectively).There was a nonsignificant weak correlation between serum ferritin levels and both serum iron and Hb *** Serum zinc levels do not seem to differ between asthmatic children and healthy *** ferritin levels may be a marker of asthma *** IgE levels are not markers of asthma severity.
