China＇s Nonfinancial Corporate Debt Dynamics

Since the global financial crisis broke out in 2008, China＇s nonfinancial corporate debt has been rising steadily and rapidly, posing serious threat to China ＂s financial stability. China ＂s rising corporate debt is mainly attributable to three factors： worsening capital efficiency, worsening corporate profitability and high funding costs. Based on a dynamic recursive model developed in the paper, we simulate the trajectories of China＇s corporate debt-to- GDP ratio, and find that if China fails to reverse the current trends in capital efficiency, corporate profitability and financing costs, China ＂s nonfinancial corporate debt-to-GDP ratio will continue to rise without converging to a limit. Against most economists ＇ intuition, given the current trends of changes in parameters, higher economic growth will not help China to escape the corporate debt trap. On the contrary, it will make China ＂s corporate debt problem even worse. To avert a corporate debt crisis, China needs to speed up the structural reform and change the growth paradigm so as to enhance capital efficiency and firms＇ profitability, while reducing firms ＇financing costs.

The problem on the dynamic response of a rigid embedded foundation in the presence of an underground rigid tunnel and subjected to excitation of incident anti-plane SH waves is *** using the exact analytical solution for the two-dimensional SH-wave propagation in and around both the surface rigid foundation and subsurface rigid tunnel,those aspects of the resulting ground motions that are of special interest and importance for seismic resistant design in earthquake analyses have been *** computed amplitudes of the resulting periodic ground motions display a very complicated wave-interference between the surface foundation and underground tunnel that lead to observed standing wave patterns, together with abrupt changes in the wave amplitudes and large amplification of the incident motions.

Ultra-high voltage(UHV)transmission lines are an important part of China’s power grid and are often surrounded by a complex electromagnetic *** ground total electric field is considered a main electromagnetic environment indicator of UHV transmission lines and is currently employed for reliable long-term operation of the power ***,the accurate prediction of the ground total electric field remains a technical *** this work,we collected the total electric field data from the Ningdong-Zhejiang±800 kV UHVDC transmission project,as of the Ling Shao line,and perform an outlier analysis of the total electric field *** show that the Local Outlier Factor(LOF)elimination algorithm has a small average difference and overcomes the performance of Density-Based Spatial Clustering of Applications with Noise(DBSCAN)and Isolated Forest elimination ***,the Stacking algorithm has been found to have superior prediction accuracy than a variety of similar prediction algorithms,including the traditional finite *** low prediction error of the Stacking algorithm highlights the superior ability to accurately forecast the ground total electric field of UHVDC transmission lines.

Renewable energy sources are considered much in energy fields because of thecontemporary energy calamities. Among the important alternatives being considered, windenergy is a durable competitor because of its dependability due to the development of theinnovations, comparative cost effectiveness and great framework. To yield wind energymore proficiently, the structure of wind turbines has turned out to be substantially bigger,creating conservation and renovation works troublesome. Due to various ecologicalconditions, wind turbine blades are subjected to vibration and it leads to failure. If thefailure is not diagnosed early, it will lead to catastrophic damage to the framework. In orderto increase safety observations, to reduce down time, to bring down the recurrence ofunexpected breakdowns and related enormous maintenance, logistic expenditures and tocontribute steady power generation, the wind turbine blade must be monitored now andthen to assure that they are in good condition. In this paper, a three bladed wind turbinewas preferred and using vibration source, the condition of a wind turbine blade is *** faults like blade crack, erosion, hub-blade loose connection, pitch angle twist and bladebend faults were considered and these faults are classified using Bayes Net (BN),Discriminative Multinomial Naïve Bayes (DMNB), Naïve Bayes (NB), Simple NaïveBayes (SNB), and Updateable Naïve Bayes (UNB) classifiers. These classifiers arecompared and better classifier is suggested for condition monitoring of wind turbine blades.

Inflation Uncertainty and Monetary Policy in China

This paper uses a stochastic volatility model structural break tests with unknown point, and a counterfactual simulation method to discuss the significant decline in inflation uncertainty in China over 1978-2009. We attempt to quantify the contributions of better monetary policy and smaller structural shocks （including demand, supply and policy impacts） on the reduced inflation uncertainty. Empirical results in the present paper suggest that improved monetary policy accounts for only a small fraction of the reduction in inflation uncertainty from the pre-1997 period to the post-1997 period in China. The bulk of the significant moderation in inflation uncertainty arises from smaller shocks. This finding indicates that the quiescence of inflation in China over the past decade could well be followed by a return to a more turbulent inflation era. Therefore, the use of preemptive monetary policy to anchor inflationary expectations and keep moderate inflation uncertainty is warranted.

The capability of embedded piezoelectric wafer active sensors(PWAS)to perform in-situ nondestructive evaluation(NDE)for structural health monitoring(SHM)of reinforced concrete(RC)structures strengthened with fiber reinforced polymer(FRP)composite overlays is ***,the disbond detection method were developed on coupon specimens consisting of concrete blocks covered with an FRP composite *** was found that the presence of a disbond crack drastically changes the electromecfianical(E/M)impedance spectrum lneasurcd at the PWAS *** spectral changes depend on the distance between the PWAS and the crack ***,large scale experiments were conducted on a RC beam strengthened with carbon fiber reinforced polymer(CFRP)composite *** beam was subject to an accelerated fatigue load regime in a three-point bending configuration up to a total of 807,415 *** these fatigue tests,the CFRP overlay experienced disbonding beginning at about 500,000 *** PWAS were able to detect the disbonding before it could be reliably seen by visual *** correlation between the PWAS readings and the position and extent of disbond damage was *** preliminary results demonstrate the potential of PWAS technology for SHM of RC structures strengthened with FRP composite overlays.

Effectiveness of Capital Controls and Sterilizations in China

Since 2003, China has been facing a trilemma of determining how to maintain independent monetary policy and limit exchange rate flexibility simultaneously, while facing persistent and substantial international capital flows. The present paper is an empirical evaluation of the effectiveness of China＇s sterilizations and capital mobility regulations, measured by sterilization and offset coefficients, respectively, using monthly data between mid-1999 and March 2009. We find that the effectiveness of China＇s sterilizations is almost perfect in terms of the monetary base, but not in terms of M2, and that China＇s capital controls still work but are not quite effective. Recursive estimation reveals that increasing mobility of capital flows and decreasing effectiveness of sterilizations might undercut China＇s ability to maintain monetary autonomy and domestic currency stability simultaneously. To solve the trilemma smoothly, China＇s monetary authority should continue to relax the management of the exchange rate, and take further steps towards deregulation of capital outflows.

Private capital is one of the main driving forces in China's initiatives towards stimulating the market economy. The development of private economy in China has always been based on integrating industrial and corporate structures with product composition and market structures. This paper explores the development of the private economy and how it integrates different industries with specific markets by analyzing the leading private sector in Zhejiang province. It also examines the trends of industrial cluster, the formation of the agglomerative economy and their effects on private economy development. Finally, the paper explains why Zhejiang people have profited much from the Wenzhou model and discusses some existing problems and future possibilities for development of the Wenzhou model.

本文将电路模拟吸波阵列与玻璃纤维介质板(FEPL)阵列结合,采用真空热压成型工艺制备了一种具有超宽带强吸波性能的多层复合结构。整个FEPL阵列复合结构的表面密度约为2.4 kg/m^(2),厚度约为10.0 mm。仿真和测量结果均表明,FEPL阵列可以明显改善吸波结构的斜入射角的稳定性,提高电磁吸收率,拓宽吸收带宽。在斜入射角40°~60°范围内,FEPL阵列显著提高了吸波复合结构的吸收性能,同时将相对带宽(FBW)拓宽了约9.1%;此外,它还将复合吸波结构正入射角的平均反射系数从−14.4 dB降低到了−25.7 dB,降低了约11.3 dB。本文所提出的玻璃纤维板阵列增多层吸波复合结构性能优异,制备工艺简单,适合实际工程应用。
