The introduction of corporate governance principle has made it compulsory for large and complex organizations to integrate an internal audit department within their organizational structure. Since internal and external auditors have some similar duties, an efficient cooperation between them can be beneficial. This study aims to assess the external auditors’ perceptions on internal audit and whether these external auditors agree that coordination brings many advantages. A survey methodology was used. The findings revealed that most external auditors have a low perception on the internal auditors’ independence and objectivity. They also agreed that coordination leads to some benefits. It was also found that the external auditors give ample importance to the internal auditors’ objectivity, competence, work performance, the client business risk and the internal auditors’ relationship with audit committee before relying on internal audit. Finally, some recommendations were proposed to maximize external auditors’ reliance on internal audit.

the IEEE802.16 Standard, which includes specification for the medium Access Control (Mac) and physical (PHY) layers. scheduling plays an important role in providing quality of service(QOS). we propose a scheduler with diverse QOS requirements where each connection employs adaptive modulation and coding(AMC) scheme at the physical layer. Each connection is assigned a priority, which is updated dynamically based on its channel and service quality; and the connection with the highest priority is scheduled each time. the performance of our scheduler is evaluated with MAX-SNR algorithm and optimal OFDMA scheduler and Multiclass MLWDF. As a result, purposed algorithm has a minimum delay and appropriate throughput.

The influence of intrinsic defects of 1T-TaS_(2)on charge density waves(CDWs)is studied using scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy(STM,STS),angle-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy(ARPES),and density functional theory(DFT).We identify several types of structural defects and find that most have a local character limited to a single CDW site,with a single exception which effectively behaves as a dopant,leading to band-bending and affecting multiple neighboring *** only one type of defect can be observed by STM topographic imaging,all defects are easily resolved in STS *** results indicate modulation of the Mott band gap commensurate with the CDW and breaking of the three-fold symmetry of electronic *** calculations(with included Coulomb interactions)are used to investigate the electronic structure,focusing on both sulfur vacancy and oxygen-sulfur *** sulfur vacancy system,characterized with a metallic behavior,is identified as the origin of one of the experimentally observed ***,the effect of oxidation of 1T-TaS_(2)depends on the substitution site,leading to the heterogeneity of electronic properties.

Vision systems that enable collision avoidance, localization and navigation in complex and uncertain environments are common in biology, but are extremely challenging to mimic in artificial electronic systems, in particular when size and power limitations apply. The development of neuromorphic electronic systems implementing models of biological sensory-motor systems in silicon is one promising approach to addressing these challenges. Concept learning is a central part of animal cognition that enables appropriate motor response in novel situations by generalization of former experience, possibly from a few examples. These aspects make concept learning a challenging and important problem. Learning methods in computer vision are typically inspired by mammals, but recent studies of insects motivate an interesting complementary research direction. There are several remarkable results showing that honeybees can learn to master abstract concepts, providing a road map for future work to allow direct comparisons between bio-inspired computing architectures and information processing in miniaturized “real” brains. Considering that the brain of a bee has less than 0.01% as many neurons as a human brain, the task to infer a minimal architecture and mechanism of concept learning from studies of bees appears well motivated. The relatively low complexity of insect sensory-motor systems makes them an interesting model for the further development of bio-inspired computing architectures, in particular for resource-constrained applications such as miniature robots, wireless sensors and handheld or wearable devices. Work in that direction is a natural step towards understanding and making use of prototype circuits for concept learning, which eventually may also help us to understand the more complex learning circuits of the human brain. By adapting concept learning mechanisms to a polymorphic computing framework we could possibly create large-scale decentralized computer vision system

The aim of this work is the assessment of the behavior of the radiation over studied area at the different seasons of the year using mathematical model. To achieve this purpose, the dispersion factor has been calculated. The calculated dispersion factor gives an indication about the behavior and the distribution of pollutants in the atmosphere. Since the used model requires specific measuring hourly metrological data over long periods of time at least one year such as wind speed, incoming solar, radiation and wind direction for studied area. Also terrain information and population distribution should be taken into consideration. The atmospheric parameters such as monthly wind rose, hourly stability classes and joint frequency have been determined using developed computer programs. The results of wind rose shown that the prevailing wind direction for studied area is northeast direction in winter. This situation give us a primary knowledge about months （months of winter） at which the studied area may be affected by the air coming from the east borders. The results of dispersion factor indicate that the sectors S, SSE and SE for the studying area are greatly exposed to air which may be polluted.

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a dementing disorder and one of the major public health problems in countries with greater longevity. The cerebral cortical thickness and cerebral blood flow (CBF), which are considered as morphological and functional image features, respectively, could be decreased in specific cerebral regions of patients with dementia of Alzheimer type. Therefore, the aim of this study was to develop a computer-aided classification system for AD patients based on machine learning with the morphological and functional image features derived from a magnetic resonance (MR) imaging system. The cortical thicknesses in ten cerebral regions were derived as morphological features by using gradient vector trajectories in fuzzy membership images. Functional CBF maps were measured with an arterial spin labeling technique, and ten regional CBF values were obtained by registration between the CBF map and Talairach atlas using an affine transformation and a free form deformation. We applied two systems based on an arterial neural network (ANN) and a support vector machine (SVM), which were trained with 4 morphological and 6 functional image features, to 15 AD patients and 15 clinically normal (CN) subjects for classification of AD. The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) values for the two systems based on the ANN and SVM with both image?features were 0.901 and 0.915, respectively. The AUC values for the ANN-and SVM-based systems with the morphological features were 0.710 and 0.660, respectively, and those with the functional features were 0.878 and 0.903, respectively. Our preliminary results suggest that the proposed method may have potential for assisting radiologists in the differential diagnosis of AD patients by using morphological and functional image features.

The paper describes possible design of the vehicle track computational model and basic testing procedure of the track dynamic loading simulation. The proposed approach leads to an improvement of safety of running achieved by improvement of track vehicle course stability. The computational model is built for MSC. ADAMS. AVT computational simulating system. Computational model, which is intended for MSC computational system, is built from two basic parts. The first one is represented by geometrical part, while the second one is presented by contact computational part of the model. The aim of the simulating calculation consist in determination of change influence of specific vehicle track constructive parameters on changes of examined qualities of the vehicle track link and changes of track vehicle course stability. The work quantifies the influence of changes of track preloading values on the demanded torque changes of driving sprocket. Further research possibilities and potential are also presented.

Neural architecture search(NAS)has become increasingly popular in the deep learning community recently,mainly because it can provide an opportunity to allow interested users without rich expertise to benefit from the success of deep neural networks(DNNs).However,NAS is still laborious and time-consuming because a large number of performance estimations are required during the search process of NAS,and training DNNs is computationally *** solve this major limitation of NAS,improving the computational efficiency is essential in the design of ***,a systematic overview of computationally efficient NAS(CE-NAS)methods still *** fill this gap,we provide a comprehensive survey of the state-of-the-art on CE-NAS by categorizing the existing work into proxy-based and surrogate-assisted NAS methods,together with a thorough discussion of their design principles and a quantitative comparison of their performances and computational *** remaining challenges and open research questions are also discussed,and promising research topics in this emerging field are suggested.
