Effects of gravel on the water absorption characteristics and hydraulic parameters of stony soil

The eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains in China are a typical mountainous region of soil and gravel,where gravel could affect the water movement process in the *** study focused on the effects of different gravel contents on the water absorption characteristics and hydraulic parameters of stony *** stony soil samples were collected from the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains in April 2023 and used as the experimental materials to conduct a one-dimensional horizontal soil column absorption *** experimental groups with gravel contents of 0%,10%,20%,30%,40%,and 50%were established to determine the saturated hydraulic conductivity(K_(s)),saturated water content(θ_(s)),initial water content(θ_(i)),and retention water content(θ_(r)),and explore the changes in the wetting front depth and cumulative absorption volume during the absorption *** Philip model was used to fit the soil absorption process and determine the soil water absorption *** the length of the characteristic wetting front depth,shape coefficient,empirical parameter,inverse intake suction and soil water suction were derived from the van Genuchten ***,the hydraulic parameters mentioned above were used to fit the soil water characteristic curves,unsaturated hydraulic conductivity(K_(θ))and specific water capacity(C(h)).The results showed that the wetting front depth and cumulative absorption volume of each treatment gradually decreased with increasing gravel *** with control check treatment with gravel content of 0%,soil water absorption rates in the treatments with gravel contents of 10%,20%,30%,40%,and 50%decreased by 11.47%,17.97%,25.24%,29.83%,and 42.45%,*** the gravel content increased,inverse intake suction gradually increased,and shape coefficient,K_(s),θ_(s),andθ_(r)gradually *** the same soil water content,soil water suction and K_(θ)gradually decreased with increasing gravel *** the same soil water s

AIM:To repor t the clinical profile,endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy(En-DCR)management,and acute dacryocystitis(AD)outcomes in ***:Clinical data of 554 adult AD patients(554 eyes)who presented in 7 tertiary eye care centers for 10y from Jan 2010 to Mar 2020 were retrospectively *** profile,En-DCR management,and outcomes of all cases were *** anatomical and functional success were evaluated for 12mo ***:The analysis included 149 males and 368 females with a median age of 55.2y(range:18-84y).There were 459 eyes with a history of epiphora or purulent *** time between a symptom of lacrimal duct obstruction and acute onset was 1 to 540(66.1±58.2)***-nine eyes had a history of the previous acute ***-four eyes developed a cutaneous fistula,while 11 eyes had post septal cellulitis ***-DCR with an anatomical success of 91.7%and functional success of 90.1%.The success rate of the patients with a history of acute episodes and the preoperative fistula was lower than the overall success ***:En-DCR can be performed during an acute episode in AD with a success rate of over 90%.

Statistical analysis on energy field of seismicity in ningxia and its neighborhood region

The random function theory is used in the paper. Taking the regional seismicity energy as the random function of space and time, the features of small seismicity field in ningxia and its neighborhood region are studied by the analytical method of natural orthogonal function expansion. The chief part of the field, i.e., the temporal changes of time weight coefficients of first several typical fields is analyzed. We have found that their values had upward and downward changes of a large amplitude before moderate-strong earthquakes and showed variation features correlating to moderate-strong earthquakes occurred in the region and its surrounding areas. From the earthquake examples in ningxia region, we can make the conclusion that the method of natural orthogonal function expansion of earthquake energy stochastic field is an earthquake analysis and prediction method that is worth further exploration.

Olfactory ensheathing cells(OECs) from the olfactory bulb(OB) and the olfactory mucosa(OM) have the capacity to repair nerve injury. However, the difference in the therapeutic effect between OB-derived OECs and OM-derived OECs remains unclear. In this study, we extracted OECs from OB and OM and compared the gene and protein expression profiles of the cells using transcriptomics and non-quantitative proteomics techniques. The results revealed that both OB-derived OECs and OM-derived OECs highly expressed genes and proteins that regulate cell growth, proliferation, apoptosis and vascular endothelial cell regeneration. The differentially expressed genes and proteins of OB-derived OECs play a key role in regulation of nerve regeneration and axon regeneration and extension, transmission of nerve impulses and response to axon injury. The differentially expressed genes and proteins of OM-derived OECs mainly participate in the positive regulation of inflammatory response, defense response, cytokine binding, cell migration and wound healing. These findings suggest that differentially expressed genes and proteins may explain why OB-derived OECs and OM-derived OECs exhibit different therapeutic roles. This study was approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of the General Hospital of ningxia Medical University(approval No. 2017-073) on February 13, 2017.

Identification of potential oxidative stress biomarkers for spinal cord injury in erythrocytes using mass spectrometry

BACKGROUND It remains unclear whether video aids can improve the quality of bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR).AIM To summarize simulation-based studies aiming at improving bystander CPR associated with the quality of chest compression and time-related quality *** The systematic review was conducted according to the PRISMA *** relevant studies were searched through PubMed,EMBASE,Medline and Cochrane Library *** risk of bias was evaluated using the Cochrane collaboration *** A total of 259 studies were eligible for inclusion,and 6 randomised controlled trial studies were ultimately *** results of meta-analysis indicated that video-assisted CPR(V-CPR)was significantly associated with the improved mean chest compression rate[OR=0.66(0.49-0.82),P<0.001],and the proportion of chest compression with correct hand positioning[OR=1.63(0.71-2.55),P<0.001].However,the difference in mean chest compression depth was not statistically significant[OR=0.18(-0.07-0.42),P=0.15],and V-CPR was not associated with the time to first chest compression compared to telecommunicator CPR[OR=-0.12(-0.88-0.63),P=0.75].CONCLUSION Video real-time guidance by the dispatcher can improve the quality of bystander CPR to a certain ***,the quality is still not ideal,and there is a lack of guidance caused by poor video signal or inadequate interaction.
