The title compound （4,4＇-H2bipy）[CdBr4]·H2O 1 has been synthesized via hydrothermal reaction and characterized by X-ray diffraction. The crystal belongs to monoclinic, space group P21/1c with a = 8.260（3）, b = 23.926（7）, c = 9.774（2） A, β = 106.777（9）°, C10H12Br4CdN2O, M, = 608.26, V = 1849.4（9） A^3, Z = 4, Dc = 2.185 g/cm^3, S = 1.005, μ（MoKα） = 9.814 mm^-1, F（000） = 1128, R = 0.0646 and ωR = 0.0989. The crystal structure analysis of 1 reveals that the title compound features an isolated structure, based on discrete 4,4＇-H2bipy moieties and lattice water molecules which are linked by hydrogen bonds together with tetrahedral cadmium atoms terminally coordinated by four bromine atoms.

The reaction of Pr（Ⅲ） salt with 1,2,4,5-benzenetetracarboxylic acid（H4betc） and piperazine（pip） yielded a lanthanide metal-organic framework {[Pr（betc）（H2O）2]（H2pip）0.5}n（1）under hydrothermal conditions. Compound 1 was characterized by single-crystal X-ray structural analysis, elemental analysis, IR, X-ray powder diffraction, and thermal gravimetric. Compound 1crystallizes in monoclinic, space group P21/n with a = 11.023（5）, b = 11.109（5）, c = 11.456（5） A, β = 110.065（5）°, V = 1317.7（9） A3, Mr = 471.14, Z = 4, F（000） = 920, Dc = 2.375 g/cm^3, μ（Mo Kα） = 3.761 mm-1, the final R = 0.0286 and w R = 0.0821（I 〉 2σ（I））. Compound 1 exhibits a 2D network with（4, 4） topology, and a 3D supramolecular framework formed by hydrogen-bonding interactions. The proton conductivity of compound 1 has been investigated at ~97% relative humidity and different temperature.

A novel terpyridine-based complex CdL＇S2 （L＇ = oxide of L; L = 10-hexyl-3-（2,6- di（pyridine-2-yl）pyridine-4-yl）-10H-phenothiazine） has been solvothermally synthesized and characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, elemental analysis, 1HNMR and X-ray crystallography. The sulfur of phenothiazine moiety was oxidized when the crystal is formed. The complex C36H37CdN5O2S3 crystallizes in triclinic, space group P1 with a = 9.4452（9）, b = 13.0181（14）, c = 14.6721（18） A, a = 73.872（1）, β = 81.531（1）, y = 87.547（2）°, V= 1714.2（3） A3, Mr = 780.29, Dc= 1.512 ***-3,μ = 0.861 mm-l, F（000） = 800, Z = 2, the final R = 0.0456 and wR = 0.1059 for I 〉 2σ-（I）. The Cd（II） is coordinated by two terminal sulfur ions and three pyridyl nitrogen atoms in a distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry. Universal hydrogen bonds between the neighboring molecules have generated a supramolecular arrangement which contributes to the stability of the title complex. Fluorescence property and thermogravimetry of the complex have also been investigated and discussed.

A new metal-organic framework based on ethyl 1H-tetrazole-5-acetate （Hetza）, [Ag4（etza）4] （1）, has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, thermal gravimetric and X-ray structural analysis. Crystal data for the title complex are as follows： triclinic system, space group P1 with a = 11.0771（6）, b = 11.6636（6）, c = 13.2925（8）, a = 102.3710（10）, β =103.3810（10）, γ = 90.0890（10）°, V = 1629.60（16） A3, Mr = 1052.06, Z = 2, F（000） = 1024, Dc = 2.144 g/cm3, μ（MoKa） = 2.438 mm^-1, the final R = 0.0538 and wR = 0.1475 （I 〉 2σ（I））. Complex 1 adopts the （4.82） topological network and the alternately hydrophilic-hydrophilic and hydropho- bic-hydrophobic arrangements. The luminescent properties of complex 1 and the free Hetza ligand have been studied in the solid states.

A chiral lanthanide metal-organic framework based on enantiopure camphoric acid （D-H2cam）, [Nd3（D-cam）8（H2O）4Cl]n （1）, has been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray structural analysis, elemental analysis, IR, thermal gravimetric, and X-ray powder diffraction. Crystal data for the title compound are as follows： orthorhombic system, space group P212121 with a = 13.8287（7）, b = 14.0715（7）, c = 25.7403（12） A^°, V = 5008.8（4） A^°3, Mr = 1333.08, Z = 4, F（000） = 2644, Dc = 1.768 g/cm^3, μ（MoKα） = 3.189 mm^-1, the final R = 0.0351 and wR = 0.0814 （I 〉 2σ（I））. Compound 1 displays an 8-connected bcu topology 3D framework and hydrogen-bonding interactions stabilize the solid-state structure. The vibrational circular dichroism （VCD） spectrum and second-order nonlinear optical effect of compound 1 have been studied in the solid state.

A novel carbazole quaternary ammonium compound（abbreviated as T_2） had been synthesized and characterized by ~1H NMR, ^（13）C NMR and Mass spectrometry. The single-crystal structure has been determined by X-ray single-crystal diffraction. The electrochemical and two-photon absorption properties of T_2 were systematically studied by cyclic voltammetry and Z-scan determination methods, respectively. The results suggested that T_2 had a good oxidation-reduction and excellent nonlinear optical property. The two-photon absorption（TPA） value has a maximum corresponding to cross section σ = 7963.3 GM（Goeppert-Mayer units） at 700 nm, indicating potential applications in nonlinear optical materials. Furthermore, attributing to the excellent water solubility and low cytotoxicity, the compound was explored on its primary application in biological imaging.

A novel pyridine derivate, 9-hexyl-3-（（pyridin-4-yl）vinyl）-9H-carbazole, was synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR spectra and X-ray diffraction analysis. The complex crystallizes in monoclinic, space group P21/n with a = 9.111（5）, b = 8.239（5）, c = 26.835（5） A, β = 95.340（5）°, Mr = 354.48, V = 2005.6（17） A3, Z = 4, Dc = 1.174 g/cm3,μ = 0.068 mm^-1, F（000） = 760, R = 0.0565 and wR = 0.1550 for 12635 observed reflections （I 〉 2σ（I））. Density functional theory （DFT） calculations were carried out to interpret its UV-Vis spectra, and the results are in agreement with the available experiments.

A heterometallic 4f-5d inorganic-organic metaMsonicotinato hybrid [Gd（C6NO2H5）3- （H2O）2]2n·（nH5O2）（nHgCl5）（2nHgCl4）·（2nH2O） 1 has been synthesized via hydrothermal reaction and structurally characterized. Complex 1 crystallizes in the space group C2/c of monoclinic system with four formula units in a cell： a = 24.234（8）, b = 20.816（7）, c = 15.333（3）A , β= 128.091（8）°, V = 6088（3）A^3, C36H47Cl13Gd2Hg3N6O20, Mr = 2260.92, Dc = 2.467 g/cm^3, S = 0.896, μ（MoKα） = 10.331 mm^-1, F（000） = 4216, R = 0.0344 and wR = 0.0629. The crystal structure analysis reveals that the title complex is characteristic of a one-dimensional chain-like structure. Photoluminescent investigation reveals that the title complex displays a broad and intense emission in the green region.

Composition of the Microorganism Community Found in the Soil Cover on the Dried Seabed of the Aral Sea

As a result of the Aral Sea shrinkage, the unique freshwater body has given place to a huge bitter-saline lake with an area 3.5 times less, volume 6 times less and water salinity 10 times larger than in 1960, and the saline desert at the interface between three sand deserts with an area of more than 5 million ha, being unstable ecological zone. The exposed ground is illustrative of arid salt-accumulation, where was created specific type of soil-costal solonchak. The origination of life in the soil of the dried bed starts long before the occurrence of external characteristics. This process can be traced only by studying the microbiological composition of soil. Research in this direction, was conducted in order to determine the microbiological composition of soil for horizons of one typical profile of solonchak. The research objective was to determine microorganism species in the soil on the dried seabed, identify changes in the microorganism community along the soil profile and dependence on duration of the drying process. Additionally, we paid attention to a vegetation effect on the composition of microorganisms. Soil samples were taken along a transect from the sea to the mainland, selected from the different depth of soil profiles taken under or near plant (saxaul). The method Gas chromatography mass-spectrometry was used. Bacteria of the community of microorganisms in different parts of the soil cover on the dried seabed of the Aral Sea and on the mainland belong to five bacterial phyla: Proteobacteria Actinobacteria Firmicutes Bacteroidetes and Deinococcus-Thermus. In general, 59 bacterial species of 43 genera were reconstructed. The total population varied from 105 cells/g to 108 cells/g of the soil. The association Aeromonas hydrophila-Arthrobacter sp. played the key role at the first stages of the soil formation process on the dried seabed of the Aral Sea.
