Maternal Understanding Regarding Women Nutrition during Breastfeeding

Introduction: Breastfeeding mothers’ nutritional status affects milk quality and children’s nutrition in a key period for life. Objectives: Identifying and describing breastfeeding mothers’ social representations during this period related with nutrition as self-care;connotations referred to food products and supplements;post-partum weight retention and information sources consulted on this matter. Materials and Methods: Ten in depth interviews were performed in healthy adult breastfeeding mothers. Interviews were analyzed with a qualitative methodology considering Health Beliefs, PRECEDE and Health Promotion models, employing the Grounded Theory. Results: Women consider nutrition as a health conditioning factor and refer dietary changes implementation during pregnancy, which are not always kept during breastfeeding. Disorganization was mentioned regarding feeding and commensality, prioritizing their child’s health over their own. Vegetables and liquids are attributed to positive connotations, referring increased consumption. Certain foods are limited as they are considered less healthy (“junk food”, sweets, sodas, cookies, spices, coffee and mate) while others, like milk, have been associated with negative effects. Insufficient weight gain during pregnancy is valorized as an achievement due to pairs approval and appearance. Association between breastfeeding and previous weight recovery is weak and doubted. Lack of information on feeding and breastfeeding even among health professionals is recognized. In case of doubts, mothers follow the closest belief affectively. Conclusions: Identifying and characterizing beliefs and barriers for maternal eating practices allow including socio-cultural aspects both in the design of public health policies and in individual nutritional counseling.

Fluid property identification of the Lower Cretaceous reservoirs with complex oil-water contacts in Deseo Basin,Chad

Recently,exploration breakthroughs have been made in the Lower Cretaceous sandstone reservoirs in the Doseo Basin,but the identification of reservoir fluid property is difficult due to variable reservoir lithology,complex oil-water contact within and faint responses of the oil zone,which causes the lower accuracy of reservoir fluid property identification with conventional mudlogging and wirelogging *** the geochemical logging,fluorescent logging,mud logging and cutting logging technology,in combination with formation test data,this paper distinguishes the crude oil types,analyzes the logging response characteristics of oil zone after water washing,and establishes the interpretation charts and parameter standards for reservoir fluid *** crude oil can be divided into two types,namely viscous-heavy and thin-light,based on total hydrocarbon content and component concentration tested by mud logging,features of pyrolysis gas chromatogram and fluorescence *** general characteristics of oil layers experienced water washing include the decrease of total hydrocarbon content and component concentration from mud logging,the decrease of S1 and PS values from geochemical logging,the decrease of hydrocarbon abundance and absence of some light components in pyrolysis gas chromatogram,and the decrease of fluorescence area and intensity from fluorescence *** to crude oil types,the cross plots of S1 versus peak-baseline ratio,and the cross plots of rock wettability versus fluorescence area ratio are drawn and used to interpret reservoir fluid ***,the standards of reservoir fluid parameter are established combining with the parameters of PS and the parameters in above charts,and comprehensive multiparameter correlation in both vertical and horizontal ways is also performed to interpret reservoir fluid *** application in the Doseo Basin achieved great success,improving interpretation ability of fluid property

The agriculture of Uzbekistan always played the important role in economy and in social life of the country. In spite of the fact that new branches of production have been created in the last years, and much higher rates the industry and service sphere were developed, the agriculture remains the one of leading directions and takes the important place in gross national product production. Its role is connected also with that it is the supplier of raw materials for quickly developing and demanded branches of light and food industry, and by that the considerable part of Uzbek population lives in rural areas and this or another ways connected with agrarian production. However, for the further development of this branch there are a number of barriers. From them the limitation of water resources and reclamation condition of the lands as well as the food security achieving are the main.

Situational Analysis and Expert Evaluation of the 1000 Days: Nutritional and Health Status in 4 Countries in latin america

Background: The first 1000 days of life, including pregnancy and the first 2 years of age have been considered essential for an adequate development and growth. Several studies have stated that malnutrition during pregnancy and not having a normal birth weight have negative impact on childhood and adulthood, and contribute to burden of disease. Adequate information on this matter provides the possibility for making recommendations on health and nutrition policies. Objective: The aim is to describe the nutritional status during the first 1000 days in four countries of latin america: Colombia, Argentina, Chile and Brazil. Methods: The analysis consists of two complementary approaches: 1) An extensive search on published and gray literature and a critical analysis of secondary data bases was conducted in Colombia, Argentina, Chile and Brazil following a standardized methodology in 2013. Maternal and child nutritional status, breast feeding, nutri-tional deficiencies, and dietary habits during the first 1000 days were the variables of interest;2) Information gaps were identified, interviews to local experts from academia, government and hospitals were conducted to fill each of the countries information gap. Data was organized in an online data base called NutriPl@net. Results: Despite the inherent country differences, the nutritional challenges during the first 1000 days are similar. Obesity prevalence is increasing in pregnant women. Under weight remains a problem in all 4 countries, with the highest prevalence in Argentina. Over weight prevalence is highest in Chile and obesity prevalence in Brazil. Micronutrient deficiencies in pregnant women have been described, especially high for folic acid, iron, zinc, vitamins A, B6, B12, C, E and riboflavin. Moreover, in the region, anemia is the most common micronutrient deficiency during pregnancy. Inorganic anions such as phosphates and carbonates are essential in the natural system and it is important for the detec-tion of such *** this work,the fluorescence sensing capacity of Zr(IV)framework with an amino-functional group,namely UiO-66-NH_(2),towards specific inorganic anions was investigated in aqueous *** results revealed that the fluorescence emission intensity of UiO-66-NH2 could be strongly enhanced by phosphate and carbonate anions including HPO_(4)^(2-),H_(2)PO_(4)^(-),PO_(4)^(3-),P_(2)O_(7)^(4-),HCO_(3)^(-)and CO_(3)^(2-),implying its sensing capacity towards phosphate and carbonate ***,fluorescence titration experiments exhibit that the emission intensity enhancement ratio depends linearly on the concentration of anions,suggesting the possibility of quantitative detection of these *** studies suggest that the sensing of UiO-66-NH,towards HPO_(4)^(2-)/PO_(4)^(3-)/P_(2)O_(4)^(-)/HCO_(3)^(-)/CO_(2)-could be ascribed to the collapse of the framework,while that for H_(2)PO_(4)-could be attributed to the adsorption of H,PO4-by UiO-66-NH2 with hydrogen bonding interactions between H,PO4-and the amino group of UiO-66-NH_(2) supported by the different fluorescence response of UiO-66 and UiO-66-NH,towards the anions.

1,2-（1-Acridin-10＇-yl-2-aza-2-methylprop-1,3-ylene）fullerene was synthesized firstly and characterized by UV-Vis, ^1H NMR, ^13C NMR and electrospray ionization mass spectroscopy, which is capable of forming a stable complex with zinc tetraphenylporphyrin via the axial ligation. The steady state fluorescence studies show efficient quenching of the zinc tetraphenylporphyrin emission upon axial coordination of acridine attached to C60.

Cost Effectiveness of Growing Cotton Depending on Irrigation Source and Groundwater Salinity in the Ferghana Valley, Uzbekistan

Given article describes the current status of irrigated agriculture in the Ferghana province, Republic of Uzbekistan. Climatic, hydrogeological, and soil conditions and hydromodule zoning of the Water User Association (WUA) Oktepa Zilol were studied, and, on this basis, the farms growing cotton were selected. Variable and fixed costs and profitability of cotton-growing farms were analyzed. Based on the books of those farms, the crop budget was drawn up. Relationships between the profitability of cotton-growing farm and the irrigation sources used and soil fertility in the farm are explained. Finally, proposals for improvement of cotton production using various sources of irrigation under different degrees of groundwater salinity are provided.

The Effect of Climate Change on Land and Water Use

Climate warming is recognized as an objective reality all over the world. The typical characteristics of this warming include rise in soil and air temperature, more frequent and intensified extreme weather events (droughts, floods, storms) that especially became apparent in the recent decade, and, finally, change in precipitation patterns. In the arid areas, to which the Aral Sea basin, the research object, belongs too, more frequent dry years accompanied by decreased river water availability and precipitation and increased aridity of air are the most critical. This has a negative effect on agriculture in the basin’s countries, which is a source of livelihoods for almost half of the population. Most researchers studying the climate change effects note that the temperature rise leads to increased evaporation and, hence, to growth of water demands for irrigation of crops. The analysis made for the Fergana Valley on the basis of potential evapotranspiration proves an increase in moisture deficit during growing season through the rise in air temperature. According to REMO modeling of climatic scenarios until 2100, evapotranspiration would increase significantly by 4 - 8 mm/day in summer months. However, it is demonstrated also that the thermal potential of given area would be changing. The growth of the thermal potential causes that the sum of effective temperatures is reached in shorter period of time and the crops can be sown earlier. This, first, would reduce the crop development phases and the growing season as a whole, and, consequently, would decrease the total water use. For example, for the mid-season cotton, the growing season would become 30 days shorter and the water use would decrease by 100 mm by 2100. The thermal patterns should be considered as the basis for crop rotation and, hence, for water planning.

Droughts in Homogeneous Areas of South america and Associated Processes during the Months of Austral Spring and Summer

Droughts that occurred in selected areas located in homogeneous regions of South america during the austral springs(SON)and summers(DJF)from 1982 to 2019 are identified using the Standard Precipitation Index(SPI).Four areas were analyzed for droughts in SON,and three areas were analyzed for droughts in *** areas in the Amazon suffered from the majority of their droughts during El Niño years,while most of the droughts in the areas of southern Brazil,Uruguay,and North Argentina occurred during La Niña *** southeastern and central-western parts of Brazil,droughts occurred during both phases of El Nino-Southern Oscillation(ENSO)and also during neutral ***,other processes besides ENSO are likely related to the observed *** droughts were investigated for each area and month,and composites of atmospheric and oceanic variables during both seasons were analyzed for the selected *** and large-scale field composites were examined to identify the main processes associated with dry conditions in the different *** features were related to the influence of high pressure over southern and southeastern areas and the divergence of moisture flux in all *** circulations contributed to subsidence over the dry *** large-scale influential features include SST anomalies,wavetrains over the South Pacific Ocean with centers of action over South america that produced subsidence in the study areas,and convection anomalies in the Maritime continent and surrounding ***,the droughts were associated with a combination of regional and large-scale features that produced subsidence over the analyzed regions.
