Elucidating authorship issues as an element of research quality at Thailand’s National science and Technology development Agency

Authorship in a scientific publication is an indicator of significant intellectual contribution in scientific *** of the discipline,it is important for research-related personnel to receive credit and take responsibility for their *** are currently several systems of listing authorship that arise from many factors such as research complexity,pressure to obtain funding,hierarchical structure,and *** of these may unfortunately lead to authorship *** awareness and understanding of authorship guidelines can help prevent abuses and *** science and Technology development Agency(NSTDA)is a national research agency of Thailand with about 2000 research staff *** research emphasis of the agency is mainly technology development for application in broad areas,ranging from engineering to medicine,including forensic *** conducted a survey to identify the level of awareness of NSTDA research staff and their authorship practices.A questionnaire was designed based on the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors(ICMJE)authorship guidelines and used to survey 15%of randomly selected NSTDA research *** 90%of them responded to the *** the respondents,60%were not sure about authorship *** presented with the ICMJE criteria,more than 90%agreed with the criteria except for the third one,approval of the final manuscript before submission,33%of respondents thought that authors are only responsible for their particular ***,nearly 80%agreed that every author is responsible for the integrity of the whole *** results offered an important foundation for forming a strategy to raise awareness about authorship in *** survey analysis,we organized several seminars and developed learning materials and an authorship guideline to increase the level of awareness of authorship for researchers.

Materials science is an interdisciplinary field applying the properties of matter to various areas of science and engineering. This scientific field investigates the relationship between the structure of materials at atomic or molecular scales and their macroscopic properties. It incorporates elements of applied physics and chemistry. With significant media attention focused on nanoscience and nanotechnology in recent years, materials science has been propelled to the forefront at many universities. Materials science encompasses various classes of materials, including electronic materials, functional ceramics, magnesium, material and processes for flat-panel displays, eco/environmental materials, sustainable energy materials, transportation materials, electronic packaging materials, etc.

Fluidization science,its development and future

By revisiting the three stage theory for the progress of science proposed by Taketani in 1942, the footmarks of fluidization research are examined. The bubbling and fast fluidization issues were emphasized so that the future offluidization research can be discussed among scientists and engineers in a wider perspective. The first cycle of fluidization research was started in the early 1940s by an initial stage of phenomenology. The second stage of structural studies was kicked off in the early 1950s with the introduction of the two phase theory. The third stage of essential studies occurred in the early 1960s in the form of bubble hydrodynamics. The second cycle, which confirmed the aforementioned three stages closed at the turn of the century, established a general understanding of suspension structures including agglomerating fluidization, bubbling, turbulent and fast fluidizations and pneumatic transport; also established powerful measurement and numerical simulation *** a general remark on science, technology and society issues the interactions between fluidization technology and science are revisited. Our future directions are discussed including the tasks in the third cycle, particularly in its phenomenology stage where strong motivation and intention are always necessary, in relation also to the green reforming of the present technology. A generalized definition of ＇fluidization＇ is proposed to extend fluidization principle into much wider scientific fields, which would be effective also for wider collaborations.

Strategic Study on the development of Space science in China and Proposals for Future Missions

Since 2011,the Chinese Academy of sciences(CAS)has implemented the Strategic Priority Program on Space science(SPP).A series of scientific satellites have been developed and launched,such as Dark Matter Particle Explorer(DAMPE),Quantum Experiments at Space Scale(QUESS),Advanced Space-based Solar Observatory(ASO-S),Einstein Probe(EP),and significant scientific outcomes have been *** order to plan the future space science missions in China,CAS has organized the Chinese space science community to conduct medium and long-term development strategy studies,and summarized the major scientific frontiers of space science as“One Black,Two Dark,Three Origins and Five Characterizations”.Five main scientific themes have been identified for China’s future breakthroughs,including the Extreme Universe,Space-Time Ripples,the Panoramic View of the Sun and Earth,the Habitable Planets,and Biological&Physical science in *** science satellite missions to be implemented before 2030 are proposed accordingly.

Building a domain-specific compiler for emerging processors with a reusable approach

High-performance computing and deep learning domains have been motivating the design of domain-specific *** these processors can provide promising computation capability,they are notorious for exotic programming *** improve programming productivity and fully exploit the performance potential of these processors,domain-specific compilers(DSCs) have been ***,building DSCs for emerging processors requires tremendous engineering efforts because the commonly used compilation stack is difficult to be *** to the advent of multilevel intermediate representation(MLIR),DSC developers can leverage reusable infrastructure to extend their customized functionalities without rebuilding the entire compilation *** this paper,we further demonstrate the effectiveness of MLIR by extending its reusable infrastructure to embrace a heterogeneous many-core processor(Sunway processor).In particular,we design a new Sunway dialect and corresponding backend for the Sunway processor,fully exploiting its architectural advantage and hiding its programming *** show the ease of building a DSC,we leverage the Sunway dialect and existing MLIR dialects to build a stencil compiler for the Sunway *** experimental results show that our stencil compiler,built with a reusable approach,can even perform better than state-of-the-art stencil compilers.

Study of inter-well interference in shale gas reservoirs by a robust production data analysis method based on deconvolution

In order to overcome the defects that the analysis of multi-well typical curves of shale gas reservoirs is rarely applied to engineering, this study proposes a robust production data analysis method based on deconvolution, which is used for multi-well inter-well interference research. In this study, a multi-well conceptual trilinear seepage model for multi-stage fractured horizontal wells was established, and its Laplace solutions under two different outer boundary conditions were obtained. Then, an improved pressure deconvolution algorithm was used to normalize the scattered production data. Furthermore, the typical curve fitting was carried out using the production data and the seepage model solution. Finally,some reservoir parameters and fracturing parameters were interpreted, and the intensity of inter-well interference was compared. The effectiveness of the method was verified by analyzing the production dynamic data of six shale gas wells in Duvernay area. The results showed that the fitting effect of typical curves was greatly improved due to the mutual restriction between deconvolution calculation parameter debugging and seepage model parameter debugging. Besides, by using the morphological characteristics of the log-log typical curves and the time corresponding to the intersection point of the log-log typical curves of two models under different outer boundary conditions, the strength of the interference between wells on the same well platform was well judged. This work can provide a reference for the optimization of well spacing and hydraulic fracturing measures for shale gas wells.

This paper proposes a multi-access and multi-user semantic communication scheme based on semantic matching and intent deviation to address the increasing demand for wireless users and *** scheme enables flexible management of long frames,allowing each unit of bandwidth to support a higher number of *** leveraging semantic classification,different users can independently access the network through the transmission of long concatenated sequences without modifying the existing wireless communication *** overcome the potential disadvantage of incomplete semantic database matching leading to semantic intent misunderstanding,the scheme proposes using intent deviation as an *** allows different receivers to interpret the same semantic information differently,enabling multiplexing where one piece of information can serve multiple users with distinct *** results show that at a bit error rate(BER)of 0.1,it is possible to reduce the transmission by approximately 20 semantic basic units.
