The electrochemical methanol oxidation is a crucial reaction in the conversion of renewable *** enable the widespread adoption of direct methanol fuel cells(DMFCs),it is essential to create and engineer catalysts that are both highly effective and robust for conducting the methanol oxidation reaction(MOR).In this work,trimetallic PtCoRu electrocatalysts on nitrogen-doped carbon and multi-wall carbon nanotubes(PtCoRu@NC/MWCNTs)were prepared through a two-pot synthetic *** acceleration of CO oxidation to CO_(2) and the blocking of CO reduction on adjacent Pt active sites were attributed to the crucial role played by cobalt atoms in the as-prepared *** precise control of Co atoms loading was achieved through precursor *** physicochemical techniques were employed to analyze the morphology,element composition,and electronic state of the *** investigations and theoretical calculations confirmed that the Pt_(1)Co_(3)Ru_(1)@NC/MWCNTs exhibit excellent electrocatalytic performance and durability for the process of *** enhanced MOR activity can be attributed to the synergistic effect between the multiple elements resulting from precisely controlled Co loading content on surface of the electrocatalyst,which facilitates efficient charge *** interaction between the multiple components also modifies the electronic structures of active sites,thereby promoting the conversion of intermediates and accelerating the MOR ***,achieving precise control over Co loading in PtCoRu@NC/MWCNTs would enable the development of high-performance catalysts for DMFCs.

The scalable production of high grade activated carbon from abundant coal for supercapacitors application is an efficient way to achieve high value-added utilization of coal ***,this technology is challenging due to lack of comprehensive understanding on the mechanism of activation process and effect of external *** this paper,the effect of activating temperature and time on the specific capacitance of coal-based activated carbon prepared by H2O steam activation was studied using the response surface *** optimal conditions,coal-based activated carbon exhibits the largest specific capacitance of 194.35 F·g^(−1),thanks to the appropriate pore/surface structure and defect *** functional theory calculations explain in detail the mechanism of contraction of aromatic rings and overflow of H2 and CO during the ***,oxygen-containing functional groups are introduced,contributing to the pseudocapacitance property of coal-based activated *** mechanism of reactions between aromatic carbon and H2O vapor provides understanding on the role of water during coal processing at the molecular level,offering great potential to regulate product distribution and predict rate of pore *** insight would contribute to the advancement of other coal processing technology such as gasification.

Kagome magnets have attracted considerable research attention due to the interplay between topology,magnetism and electronic *** this study we report single-crystal synthesis of a series of the kagome ***_(6)Ge_(6)(R=Gd-Tm) that possess defect-free Cr kagome lattices and systematically study their magnetic and electrical transport *** transition from a canted ferrimagnetic to a paramagnetic state in GdCr_(6)Ge_(6),TbCr_(6)Ge_(6),DyCr_(6)Ge_(6),HoCr_(6)Ge_(6),ErCr_(6)Ge_(6) and TmCr_(6)Ge_(6) occurs at 11.3 K,10.8 K,4.3 K,2.5 K,3.3 K and below 2 K,respectively,due to R-R interactions within the *** measurements reveal highly anisotropic magnetism with canted magnetic moments in these *** electrical transport,both negative and positive magnetoresistances at different magnetic fields and temperatures have been observed due to the competition between different scattering *** work enriches our understanding of the Cr-based kagome magnets and paves the way to search for possible topological responses in this family.

Nested subset pattern(nestedness)is an important part of the theoretical framework of island biogeography and community ***,most previous studies often used nestedness metrics or randomization algorithms that are vulnerable to type I *** this study,we inves-tigated the nestedness of lizard assemblages on 37 islands in the Zhoushan Archipelago,*** used the line-transect method to survey species occurrence,abundance,and habitat types of lizards on 37 islands during 2 breeding seasons in 2021 and *** applied the nested metric WNODF and the conservative rc null model to control for type I error and quantify the significance of *** rank cor relations were used to evaluate the role of 4 habitat variables(island area,2 isolation indices,and habitat diversity)and 4 ecological traits(body size,geographic range size,clutch size,and minimum area requirement)in generating *** results of WNODF analyses showed that lizard assemblages were significantly *** habitat-by-site matrix estimated by the program NODF was also significantly nested,support-ing the habitat nestedness *** nestedness of lizard assemblages were significantly correlated with island area,habitat *** size,and minimum area ***,our results suggest that selective extinction and habitat nestedness were the main drivers of lizard nestedness in our *** contrast,the nestedness of lizard assemblages was not due to passive sampling or selective *** maximize the number of species preserved,our results indicate that we should protect both large islands with diverse habitats and species with largearea requirement and clutch size.

Amyloid beta(Aβ)monomers aggregate to form fibrils and amyloid plaques,which are critical mechanisms in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease(AD).Given the important role of Aβ1-42 aggregation in plaque formation,leading to brain lesions and cognitive impairment,numerous studies have aimed to reduce Aβaggregation and slow AD *** diphenylalanine(FF)sequence is critical for amyloid aggregation,and magnetic fields can affect peptide alignment due to the diamagnetic anisotropy of aromatic *** this study,we examined the effects of a moderate-intensity rotating magnetic field(RMF)on Aβaggregation and AD *** indicated that the RMF directly inhibited Aβamyloid fibril formation and reduced Aβ-induced cytotoxicity in neural cells in *** the AD mouse model APP/PS1,RMF restored motor abilities to healthy control levels and significantly alleviated cognitive impairments,including exploration and spatial and non-spatial memory *** examinations demonstrated that RMF reduced amyloid plaque accumulation,attenuated microglial activation,and reduced oxidative stress in the APP/PS1 mouse *** findings suggest that RMF holds considerable potential as a non-invasive,high-penetration physical approach for AD treatment.

Lipid nanoparticles(LNPs)have emerged as highly effective delivery systems for nucleic acid-based ***,the broad clinical translation of LNP-based drugs is hampered by the lack of robust and scalable synthesis techniques that can consistently produce formulations from early development to clinical *** this work,we proposed a method to achieve scalable synthesis of LNPs by scaling inertial microfluidic mixers isometrically in three ***,a theoretical predictive method,which controls the mixing time to be equal across different chips,is developed to ensure consistent particle size and size distribution of the synthesized *** loaded with small interfering RNA(siRNA)were synthesized at different flow rates,exhibiting consistent physical properties,including particle size,size distribution and encapsulation *** work provides a practical approach for scalable synthesis of LNPs consistently,offering the potential to accelerate the transition of nucleic acid drug development into clinical application.

Perpendicular optical reversal of the linear dichroism transition has promising applications in polarization-sensitive optoelectronic devices. We perform a systematical study on the in-plane optical anisotropy of quasi-one-dimensional PdBr_(2) by using combined measurements of the angle-resolved polarized Raman spectroscopy(ARPRS) and anisotropic optical absorption spectrum. The analyses of ARPRS data validate the anisotropic Raman properties of the PdBr_(2) *** anisotropic optical absorption spectrum of PdBr_(2) nanoflake demonstrates distinct optical linear dichroism reversal. Photodetector constructed by PdBr_(2) nanowire exhibits high responsivity of 747 A·W^(-1) and specific detectivity of 5.8×10^(12) Jones. And the photodetector demonstrates prominent polarization-sensitive photoresponsivity under 405-nm light irradiation with large photocurrent anisotropy ratio of 1.56, which is superior to those of most of previously reported quasi-one-dimensional counterparts. Our study offers fundamental insights into the strong optical anisotropy exhibited by PdBr_(2), establishing it as a promising candidate for miniaturization and integration trends of polarization-related applications.

Combining theoretical prediction and experimental exploration, the first sandwich-type polyoxovanadoborate(POVB) with an odd number of nuclei, [V_(11)B_(26)O_(73)(OH)_(10)]^(8-)(1), was discovered under hydrothermal conditions. Density-functional theory(DFT)gives a rationalization for the existence of this structure and the structural feature is consistent with the {V_NB_(2N+X)}(X = 2, 4, 6, 8)general formula. Excitingly, when Co and 1,10-phenanthroline(phen) are introduced into the synthesis of vanadoborates system,a 100-nuclei [Co_6(phen)_(10)(H_(2)O)_8][V_(14)Co_(12)B_(72)O_(144)(OH)_(20)]·28H_(2)O(2) and a 102-nuclei [Co_6(phen)_(14)(H_(2)O)_(4)][V_(14)Co_(12)B_(72)O_(144)(OH)_(20)]·23H_(2)O(3) with the same core structure of [V_(14)Co_(12)B_(72)]^(12-)are obtained. The vase-shaped [V_(14)Co_(12)B_(72)] polyanion is a multilayered sandwich-type structure containing seven distinct structural layers and is the largest known POVB. Furthermore, 2demonstrates exceptional thermal and chemical stability and serves as an efficient and stable catalyst for the photoreduction of carbon dioxide.

van der Waals(vdW)semiconductors have gained significant attention due to their unique physical properties and promising applications,which are embedded within distinct crystallographic ***,we report a pressure-induced crystallineamorphization-recrystallization transition under compression in binary vdW semiconductor *** compression to 52 GPa,bulk SiP undergoes a consecutive phase transition from pristine crystalline to amorphous phase,ultimately to recrystallized *** employing synchrotron X-ray diffraction experiments in conjunction with high-pressure crystal structure searching techniques,we reveal that the recrystallized Si P hosts a tetragonal structure(space group I4mm)and further transforms partially into a cubic phase(space group Fm3m).Consistently,electrical transport and alternating-current magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate the presence of three superconducting phases,which are embedded in separate crystallographic symmetries—the amorphous,tetragonal,and cubic ***,a high superconducting transition temperature of 12.3 K is observed in its recovered tetragonal phase during *** findings uncover a novel phase evolution path and elucidate a pressure-engineered structure-property relationship in vdW semiconductor *** results not only offer a new platform to explore the transformation between different structures and functionalities,but also provide new opportunities for the design and exploration of advanced devices based on vdW materials.
