Atomized flow forms as an aerated jet from high dams impacts against thedownstream water surface at high speed. Of all the regions of atomized flow the splash region is inthe center of storm rainfall, which might cause certain damage to the hydropower stations and thencemore attention should he paid. In this paper the impact of the water drop at the outer edge of theaerated jet against the downstream water surface was analyzed, and the motion of the splash waterdrop was investigated. Furthermore, a new formula for the calculation of the splash length wassuggested, which is in good agreement with the data of model tests and prototype observation.

Wall pressure fluctuation is one of the source terms which result in thevibration of hydraulic structures. To consider both the space and time correlation of the pressurefield. the method of proper orthogonal decomposition and low-dimensional approximation were usedhere to describe the pressure signals of the turbulent boundary layer, the apron of the stillingpond and the vertically impinging jet.

In the paper the simplified three-dimensional turbulent diffusion equation ofthe suspended load is deduced by the power series method. The formula on the transversedistribution of the suspended load concentration is obtained, which is tested by a few field data onYangtze River. The simulation results indicate that the calculated data are in primary agreementwith the field data within the allowable error. It is certain value in theory and practice.

The two-dimensional plane water flow and water quality was developed by usingthe techniques of coordinate transformation, alternating directions, staggered grid, linearrecurrence, and implicit scheme in the study of large water body in lakes. The model was proved tobe suitable for treating the irregular boundary and predicting quickly water flow and water *** application of the model to the Bosten Lake in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China showsthat it is reasonable and practicable.
