The hole transporting layer （HTL） of organic light-emitting device （OLED） was processed by vacuum deposition and spin coating method, respectively, where N,N＇-biphenyl-N, N＇-bis（3-methylphenyl）- 1, l＇-biphenyl-4,4＇ -diamine （TPD） and poly （vinylcarbazole）（PVK） acted as the hole-transport materials. Tris-（8-hydroxyquinoline）- aluminum （Alq3） was utilized as both the light-emitting layer and the electron transporting layer. The basic structure of the device cell was： indium-tin-oxide （1TO）/PVK ： TPD/Alq3/Mg：Ag. The electroluminescent （EL） characteristics of devices were characterized. The results showed that the peak of EL spectra was located at 530 nm, which conformed to the characterizing spectrum of Alq3. Compared with using vacuum deposition method, the green emission with a maximum luminance up to 26135 cd/m2 could be achieved at a drive voltage of 15 V by selecting proper solvent using spin-coating technique, and its maximum lumi nance efficiency was 2.56 lm/W at a drive voltage of 5.5 V.

The behaviour of passively Q-switched solid-state lasers containing intracavity optical parametric oscillators(OPOs) is described, and a model to optimize this system's performance is developed. Meanwhile, an Nd:YAG laserpumped KTiOPO4 (KTP) intracavity OPO for eye safe laser output is studied experimentally. A Brewster-oriented bis-(4-dimethylaminodithiobenzil)-nickel (BDN) dye film is employed in laser cavity, which plays the double role of a passive Q-switch and a Brewster plate, to Q-switch the light to increase its intensity and polarize the light so that the polarization plane of fundamental irradiation is perpendicular to the Z-axis of KTP serving as the OPO nonlinear crystal, thereby providing type Ⅱ phase matching conditions to generate 1.572μm eye-safe signal laser. Eye-safe signal radiations of 6.6mJ per pulse at 1.572μm wavelength and pulse width as narrow as 6.0ns (FWHM) were obtained. Peak power was up to 1.1MW.

In this paper, some key techniques of KTiOPO4 optical parametric oscillation (OPO) laser with repetitive frequencies and twin wavelengths output have been analysed theoretically and studied experimentally in detail. An intracavity optical parametric oscillator (IOPO) has been applied. Operating under 20Hz, laser output energy of more than 38mJ with twin wavelengths 1.57μm and 1.06μm has been achieved. Results of the experiments agree well with the theoretical discussion.

By using of a six-channel HCN laser interferometer, the sawtooth-like density oscillations without being exhibited in the ohmic phase plasma have been observed during lower hybrid current drive (LHCD) discharges in the HL-1M device. There are often accompanied by injected impurity with laser blow-off. Analyses show that this kind of density sawtooth-like oscillation comes from the mutual effect of LHCD and impurity. An available mechanism is the loss of superthermal electrons by the magnetic perturbation, which is caused by the crash of the central accumulated impurities.

Study of the electric field and wall voltage in a high pressure ac-PDP cell by laser induced fluorescence spectroscopy

The electric field in a surface discharge type ac-PDP cell with He or He/Xe(0.1%) mixture has been measured over a wide range of pressure (5 50kP1 using laser induced fluorescence detection. The wall voltage was estimated from the measured electric field. The Stark manifolds of triplet atomic helium Rydberg state (2s3S) with principal quantum numbers (n=8 and 9) have been used to measure the electric field, as the lifetime of 2s3S is longer than the single atomic helium Rydberg state (2s1S) in high pressure discharge. Comparison of the Stark manifolds between the n=9 and n=8shows that the measurement accuracy of electric field can be increased by 10%. The maximum electric field strength during discharge and the wall voltage at the end of pulse decreases with the increase of pressure. The comparison of He and He/Xe(0.1%) discharge at 13kPa showed that He/Xe gas mixture discharge can accumulate more wall charge on MgO surface and the electric field was somewhat higher than those of pure helium discharge during pulse off period under the same discharge conditions.
