With the escalation of industrialization and population growth,energy and clean water shortages pose an unprecedented threat to sustainable ***,it is imperative to develop green and effective strategies to address these *** this context,solar-driven interfacial water evaporation(SIWE)has emerged as a highly promising low-carbon solution to the water-energy nexus[1].By locating the evaporator at airwater interfaces,heat localization can be achieved,leading to high-efficient water evaporation and freshwater *** significantly,taking advantage of the special conditions during SIWE has opened numerous opportunities for generation of extra electrical power[2,3].Throughout the processes of SIWE,various elements such as photons,waves,capillary flow,evaporation,vapor motions,condensation,and droplet sliding can all be harnessed to produce electricity through photovoltaic,thermoelectric,thermogalvanic,pyroelectric,piezoelectric,triboelectricity and hydrovoltaic effects[3].Extensive research efforts have provided valuable insights for the development of water-electricity cogeneration(WEG)hybrid systems.

With abundant potassium resources and high capacity,potassium metal batteries(PMBs)present a compelling option for the next generation of energy storage ***,PMBs suffer from an unstable anode interface caused by uncontrolled dendrite growth,which results in unsatisfactory cyclability and safety *** investigations suggest that significant progress has been made in enhancing the interfacial stability of *** various effective strategies for stabilizing interfaces can ultimately be attributed to the regulation of the sluggish ion transfer kinetics and irregular deposition,i.e.,the arrangement of ion transport behaviors at the *** modulation of ions transport rate and ions deposition directions makes it possible to obtain a dendrite-free and smooth deposition ***,the influencing factors and action mechanism of K^(+)interface transport behaviors are discussed to understand the nature of material design for constructing stable anode interfaces,including regulating the solvation and desolvation structures,accelerating K^(+)transport kinetics and controlling K^(+)deposition *** addition,the deficiencies and prospects of the research on electrolyte,separators and designed electrode involved in the manufacturing and testing and ion transport process of PMBs are *** review is expected to provide some possible directions for constructing dendrite-free interfaces in advanced PMBs-related research and offer significant insights for prospective experimental research and commercial applications.

Silver-zinc(Ag-Zn)batteries are a promising battery system for flexible electronics owing to their high safety,high energy density,and stable output ***,poor cycling performance,low areal capacity,and inferior flexibility limit the practical application of Ag-Zn ***,we develop a flexible quasi-solid-state Ag-Zn battery system with superior performance by using mild electrolyte and binder-free *** foam current collector is introduced to impede the growth of Zn dendrite,and the structure of Ag cathode is engineered by electrodeposition and chloridization process to improve the areal *** novel battery demonstrates a remarkable cycle retention of 90%for 200 cycles at 3 mA cm^(-2).More importantly,this binder-free battery can afford a high capacity of 3.5 mAh cm^(-2)at 3 mA cm^(-2),an outstanding power density of 2.42 mW cm^(-2),and a maximum energy density of 3.4 mWh cm^(-2).An energy management circuit is adopted to boost the output voltage of a single battery,which can power electronic ink display and Bluetooth temperature and humidity *** developed battery can even operate under the extreme conditions,such as being bent and sealed in solid *** work offers a path for designing electrodes and electrolyte toward high-performance flexible Ag-Zn batteries.

In the context of escalating global energy demands,urban areas,specifically the building sector,contribute to the largest energy consumption,with urban overheating exacerbating this *** urban modelling for heat-mitigation and reduction of energy demand is crucial steps towards a sustainable built-environment,complementing onsite energy generation in the design and development of Net-zero Energy(NZE)Settlement,especially in the context of australian weather *** a significant gap in existing literature,this study offers empirical analysis on the climate and energy efficacy of integrated heat mitigation strategies applied in 14 neighbourhood typologies located in Sydney,*** the application of cool materials on roads,pavements,and rooftops,alongside urban vegetation enhancement,the analysis demonstrates scenario effectiveness on heat mitigation that leads to reduce ambient temperature and energy demands along with CO_(2)emissions within the *** building arrangement,built-area ratio,building height,and locations,ENVI-met and CitySim are utilized to assess the heat-mitigation and the energy demand of neighbourhoods,*** indicate that mitigation measures can lead up to a 2.71℃reduction in ambient temperature and over 25%reduction in Cooling Degree Hours,with a 34.34%reduction in cooling energy demand and overall energy savings of up to 12.49%.In addition,the annual energy-saving yields a CO_(2)reduction of approximately 141.12 tonnes,where additional vegetation further amplifies these reductions by enhancing CO_(2)*** study showcases the pathway towards achieving NZE goals in climates similar to that of australia,highlighting significant benefits in heat-mitigation,environmental impact,and energy-savings.

Palladio’s design principles,including proportion and harmony,have often been associated with mathematical definitions of ***,the geometric and semantic properties of his fac¸ades have rarely been analysed in a holistic *** is little evidence of how mathematical beauty may be embodied in his *** research investigates complexity(fractal dimension or D)and diversity(perplexity or PP)as aesthetic indices,aiming to capture distinct characteristics of Palladian *** D and PP values of 22 Palladian villa fac¸ades are measured and analysed,before being compared with those of three Renaissance facades by Sebastiano *** combination of D and PP captures the geometric and semantic aesthetic qualities of architectural ***,the developed scatter plot of D and PP results supports the identification of four distinct aesthetic types of Palladian fac¸ade *** novel combination of D and PP measures contributes to a better understanding of one definition of the mathematical beauty of architecture,wherein“the whole is other than the sum of the parts”in compositional terms(a famous Gestalt principle).Specifically,this research provides new mathematical insights into the visual character of Palladian architecture and compares two important measures thereof.
