We report on a Te-seeded epitaxial growth of ultrathin Bi2Te3 nanoplates （down to three quintuple layers （QL）） with large planar sizes （up to tens of micrometers） through vapor transport. Optical contrast has been systematically investigated for the as-grown Bi2Te3 nanoplates on the SiO2/Si substrates, experimentally and computationally. The high and distinct optical contrast provides a fast and convenient method for the thickness determination of few-QL Bi2Te3 nanoplates. By aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy, a hexagonal crystalline structure has been identified for the Te seeds, which form naturally during the growth process and initiate an epitaxial growth of the rhombohedral- structured Bi2Te3 nanoplates. The epitaxial relationship between Te and Bi2T% is identified to be perfect along both in-plane and out-of-plane directions of the layered nanoplate. Similar growth mechanism might be expected for other bismuth chalcogenide layered materials.

Structured optical fields embedded with polarization singularities(PSs)have attracted extensive attention due to their capability to retain topological invariance during *** advances in PS research have been made over the past 20 years in the areas of mathematical description,generation and detection technologies,propagation dynamics,and ***,one of the most crucial and difficult tasks continues to be manipulating PSs with multiple degrees of freedom,especially in three-dimensional(3D)tailored optical *** propose and demonstrate the longitudinal PS lines obtained by superimposing Bessel-like modes with orthogonal polarization states on composite vector optical fields(VOFs).The embedded PSs in the fields can be manipulated to propagate robustly along arbitrary trajectories,or to annihilate,revive,and transform each other at on-demand positions in 3D space,allowing complex PS’topological morphology and intensity patterns to be flexibly *** findings could spur further research into singular optics and help with applications such as micromanipulation,microstructure fabrication,and optical encryption.

To the Editor:Chlamydia trachomatis(***)is obligate intracellular pathogens,often resulting in development of chronic disease and tissue damage as a consequence of the host inflammatory immune response as well as persistent infections,[1]which is associated with the activation of mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)and extracellular regulated protein kinases(ERK)mediated by Toll-like receptors(TLRs)and myeloid differentiation primary response gene 88(MyD88).[2]Furthermore,*** has evolved the ability to block the apoptosis of its host cells involving the interaction of autophagy and apoptosis.[3]Novel strategies to prevent and treat *** infection effectively are needed.

Grasping institutional complexity in infrastructure megaprojects through the multi-level governance system： A case study of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge construction

This study analyzes the design and operation of multi-level governance system for the smooth delivery of infrastructure mega-projects with high institutional complexity caused by market transition. From an institutional perspective, this study scrutinizes the structure,elements, and dynamics of the governance system of infrastructure mega-projects and then proposes an integrative framework based on the inductive case study of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge mega-project. Multiple evidences of archives, field studies, and interviews related to the case project are triangulated to further analyze the institutional effects, specifically those with government logics and market structures, on the design and operation of the three-level governance system. Results reveal that the co-evolution between governments and markets in China has shaped the vertical levels of the mega-project governance system and has further affected their evolution and operation across various stages of project development. This study contributes to the rapidly emerging research on complex system governance by proposing a systematic model of three-level mega-project governance to enhance the timely delivery of infrastructure megaprojects within budget.

Neurotoxicity mechanism of aconitine in HT22 cells studied by microfluidic chip-mass spectrometry

Aconitine,a common and main toxic component of Aconitum,is toxic to the central nervous ***,the mechanism of aconitine neurotoxicity is not yet *** this work,we had the hypothesis that excitatory amino acids can trigger excitotoxicity as a pointcut to explore the mechanism of neurotoxicity induced by ***22 cells were simulated by aconitine and the changes of target cell metabolites were real-time online investigated based on a microfluidic chip-mass spectrometry ***,to confirm the metabolic mechanism of aconitine toxicity on HT22 cells,the levels of lactate dehydrogenase,intracellular Ca^(2+),reactive oxygen species,glutathione and superoxide dismutase,and ratio of Bax/Bcl-2 protein were detected by molecular *** of the detected results revealed that neurotoxicity induced by aconitine was associated with the process of excitotoxicity caused by glutamic acid and aspartic acid,which was followed by the accumulation of lactic acid and reduction of *** surge of extracellular glutamic acid could further lead to a series of cascade reactions including intracellular Ca^(2+)overload and oxidative stress,and eventually result in cell *** general,we illustrated a new mechanism of aconitine neurotoxicity and presented a novel analysis strategy that real-time online monitoring of cell metabolites can provide a new approach to mechanism analysis.

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the anti-bacterial and anti-viral effects of Fengreqing oral liquid(风热清口服液,FRQ)in vitro and in ***:The minimum inhibitory concentrations of Fengreqing Oral Liquid against six gram-positive bacteria(Staphylococcus aureus,Streptococcus mutans,Peptostreptococcus anaerobius,Hemolytic streptococcus,Streptococcus pneumoniae,Klebsiella pneumoniae),seven gram-negative bacteria(Escherichia coli,Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans,Porphyromonas gingivalis,Haemophilus influenzae,Helicobacter pylori,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Gardnerella vaginalis)and Candida albicans were detected by the paper disc diffusion *** inhibition rate of A/Puerto Rico/8/34(H1N1)(PR8)influenza virus in different concentrations of Fengreqing oral solution was detected by chicken embryo ***8 method was used to detect the half-cell infection of RSV,VSV and *** effect of FRQ on the survival curve of mice was detected by using co-infection model of Streptococcus pneumoniae and influenza ***:In vitro,FRQ can inhibit Actinobacillus actinomycetemcomitans,Helicobacter pylori,Gardnerella vaginalis,Staphylococcus aureus,Streptococcus mutans and Streptococcus pneumoniae and has an antiviral effect on the envelope virus *** vivo,Fengreqing oral solution had therapeutic effect on influenza-Streptococcus pneumoniae co-infection in mice,significantly improving the survival rate of *** medium dose and low dose FRQ significantly prolonged the survival time of ***:FRQ has good anti-bacterial and anti-viral effects in vivo and in vitro.

Cold-adaptive alkaline protease from the psychrophilic Planomicrobium sp.547: enzyme characterization and gene cloning

A psychrophilic bacterium strain 547 producing cold-adaptive alkaline protease was isolated from the deep sea sediment of Prydz Bay, Antarctica. The organism was identified as a Planomicrobium species by 16S rRNA analysis. The optimal and highest growth temperatures for strain 547 were 15~C and 30~C, respectively. The extracellular protease was purified by ammonium sulfate precipitation and DEAE cellulose-52 chromatography. The optimal temperature and pH for the activity of the purified enzyme were 35~C and pH 9.0, respectively. The enzyme retained approximately 40% of its activity after 2 h of incubation at 50℃. The enzymatic activity was inhibited by 1 mmol/L phenylmethyl sulfonylfluoride （PMSF） and hydrochloride 4-（2-aminoethyl）-benzenesulfonyl fluoride （AEBSF）, indicating that it was a serine protease. The presence of Cae＋ and Mnz＋ increased the activity of the enzyme. The protease gene with a size of 1 269 bp was cloned from Planomicrobium sp. 547 using primers designed based on the conserved sequences of proteases in GenBank. The Planomicrobium sp. 547 protease contained a domain belonging to the peptidase S8 family, which has a length of 309 amino acid （AA） residues. The alignment and phylogenetic analysis of the AA sequence indicated that the protease belonged to the subtilisin family.

Coupling and evolution mechanism of infrastructure mega-projects complex ecosystem： Case study on Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge

Infrastructure mega-projects(IMP), which involve complex interactions and feedback, have more significant impact on economic, social, and other *** paper proposes a concept—the IMP complex ecosystem—to analyze IMP from a broad perspective of organic links across engineering, social, economic, and resource environments. Moreover, this paper proposes the theoretical concept, framework, and functions for the IMP complex ecosystem based on complex ecosystem ***, the coupling process between IMP complex ecosystem subsystems is analyzed through material flows, energy flows, information flows, and value ***, a logistic model of the IMP complex ecosystem is proposed by analyzing the evolution conditions and motivations. Third, the evolution pattern of the IMP complex ecosystem is determined. Fourth, the positive evolution strategy of the IMP complex ecosystem based on dissipative structure theory and the influencing factors of the evolutionary process is introduced. Finally, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Sousa chinensis are used as the case study. This paper also analyzes the coupling structure on the complex ecosystem of the Hong KongZhuhai-Macao Bridge and investigates the coupling and evolution mechanism application of the IMP complex ecosystem on Sousa chinensis protection for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge project.

Directional hydraulic fracturing to control hard-roof rockburst in coal mines

Hard roof is the main factor that induces *** view of the present obvious weakness of control measures for hard roof rockburst in domestic collieries,the mechanism and field application of directional hydraulic fracturing technology for rock-burst prevention have been investigated in this paper using theoretical analysis and numerical *** results show that the weighting span of the main roof and the released kinetic energy as well as the total elastic energy decreased greatly after the directional fracturing of hard roof with the mining progression,thereby reducing the rockburst hazard degree to coal *** directional hydraulic fracturing technology was carried out in 6305 working face of Jisan Coal Mine to prevent *** practices have proved that this technology is much simpler and safer to operate with better prevention effect compared with *** optimizing the operation procedures and developing a new technology of automated high-pressure delivery pipe,the maximum fracturing radius now reaches more than 9 m and the borehole depth exceeds 20 ***,drilling cutting method was applied to monitor the stress of the coal mass before and after the fracturing,and the drill cuttings dropped significantly which indicates that the burst prevention effect of directional hydraulic fracturing technology is very *** research results of this paper have laid a theoretical and practical foundation for the widespread application of the directional hydraulic fracturing technology in China.
