A RAISED PANEL METHOD BASED ON NURBS FOR FREE-SURFACE POTENTIAL FLOWS WITH FORWARD SPEED

A raised panel method based on NURBS (Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines) forfree-surface flows with forward speed is presented. In this generalized panel method, NURBS areemployed to represent the body geometry, disturbed free surface, and to express the unknown sourcestrength distribution, on the body surface and above the free surface. Compared with commonhigher-order panel methods, it has no need of adopting local coordinates. NURBS make the geometryrepresentation of the body shape and the wave pattern more precise. Raised panels above the freesurface produce less numerical dispersion error, need less CPU consumption and are helpful andcombined with collocation-point shifting up-stream, can satisfy the radiation condition *** using continuous and discrete Fourier analysis, numerical errors of this method are discussedand a general expression for the errors of numerical damping and dispersion, including the effectsof the vertical distance of singularities to the free surface, the order of singularity distributionrepresented by B-splines in panels, and collocation-point shifting is derived.

Application of Disaggregated Logit Modeling with Stated Preference Method in Park and Ride Behavior for Non-local Private Car Travelers in Big Events

During big events, non-local private car travelers can be divided into two types which were returning in one day and in several days. It was demonstrated that those two kinds of travelers have distinct behavior on park and ride （P＆R）, due to their different travel demand and behavior attributes. In this paper focusing on the travelers returning in several days, the travel attributes and requirements for P＆R were analyzed with stated preference survey. A P＆R choice behavior disaggregated logit model was established and calibrated based on random utility theory. The model concludes three variables, which were travel time, parking fee and comprehensive attractiveness index for suburban satellite towns comparing to urban district. The results revealed that for travelers returning in several days the primary key point is increasing the attractiveness of suburban satellite towns.

H_∞tracking design for a class of decentralized nonlinear systems via fuzzy adaptive observer

A novel H∞ tracking-based decentralized indirect adaptive output feedback fuzzy controller for a class of uncertain large-scale nonlinear systems is developed. By virtue of the proper filtering of the observation error dynamics, the observer-based decentralized indirect adaptive fuzzy control scheme is presented for a class of large-scale nonlinear systems using the combination of H∞ tracking technique, a fuzzy adaptive observer and fuzzy inference systems. The output feedback and adaptation mechanisms are both robust and implementable indeed owing to their freedom from the unavailable observation error vector. All the signals of the closed-loop largescale system are guaranteed to stay uniformly bounded and the output errors take on H∞ tracking performance. Simulation results substantiate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

Study on characteristics of pipeline transportation and sulfur fixing of cleaned coal logs

As special cylindrical briquettes of coal for long distance pipeline transportation and directly cleaned combustion the cleaned coal logs should possess two characteristics of transportation in pipeline and cleaned combustion. In order to make cleaned coal logs a rational technology for manufacturing, cleaned coal logs was designed and compound sulfur fixing binders with high effects of binding and sulfur-fixing was selected and combined. In addition, by means of characteristic experiments of strength, wear, waterproof and sulfur-fixing five different cleaned coal logs made with different compound sulfur fixing binders in different compaction conditions was tested and measured. Experimental results indicated that the manufacturing technology of cleaned coal logs was reasonable and the combination of compound sulfur fixing binders was scientific. Cleaned coal logs made up with the fourth group of coal mixture had high strength, good waterproof property, efficient sulfur-fixing, good characteristic of transportation, and achieved the performance requirement for pipeline transportation and sulfur fixing.
