Leading Pattern of Spring Drought Variability over East Asia and Associated Drivers

Drought events have become more frequent and intense over East Asia in recent decades,leading to huge socioeconomic *** the droughts have been studied extensively by cases or for individual regions,their leading variability and associated causes remain *** on the Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index(SPEI)and ERA5 reanalysis product from 1979 to 2020,this study evealuates the severity of spring droughts in East Asia and investigates their variations and associated *** results indicate that North China and Mongolia have experienced remarkable trends toward dryness during spring in recent decades,while southwestern China has witnessed an opposite trend toward *** first Empirical Orthogonal Function mode of SPEI variability reveals a similar seesawing pattern,with more severe dryness in northwestern China,Mongolia,North China,South Korea,and Japan but increased wetness in Southwestern China and southeast *** investigation reveals that the anomalously dry(wet)surface in North(Southwestern)China is significantly associated with anomalously high(low)temperature,less(more)precipitation,and reduced(increased)soil moisture during the previous winter and early spring,regulated by an anomalous anticyclone(cyclone)and thus reduced(increased)water vapor *** spring dry-wet pattern in East Asia is also linked to cold sea surface temperature anomalies in the central-eastern *** findings of this study have important implications for improving the prediction of spring drought events in East Asia.

The performance of massive MIMO systems relies heavily on the availability of Channel State Information at the Transmitter(CSIT).A large amount of work has been devoted to reducing the CSIT acquisition overhead at the pilot training and/or CsI feedback *** fact,the downlink communication generally includes three stages,i.e.,pilot training,CsI feedback,and data *** three stages are mutually related and jointly determine the overall system ***,there exist few studies on the reduction of csIT acquisition overhead from the global point of *** this paper,we integrate the Minimum Mean Square Error(MMSE)channel estimation,Random Vector Quantization(RVQ)based limited feedback and Maximal Ratio Combining(MRC)precoding into a unified framework for investigating the resource allocation *** particular,we first approximate the covariance matrix of the quantization error with a simple expression and derive an analytical expression of the received Signal-to-Noise Ratio(SNR)based on the deterministic equivalence *** the three performance metrics(the spectral efficiency,energy efficiency,and total energy consumption)oriented problems are formulated *** practical system requirements,these three metrics can be collaboratively ***,we propose an optimization solver to derive the optimal partition of channel coherence *** results verify the benefits of the proposed resource allocation schemes under three different scenarios and illustrate the tradeoff of resource allocation between three stages.

Genetic variants in super-enhancers(SEs)are increasingly implicated as a disease risk-driving *** studies have reported an associations between benzo[a]pyrene(BaP)exposure and some malignant tumor ***,it is unclear whether BaP is involved in the effect of genetic variants in SEs on prostate cancer risk,nor the associated intrinsic molecular *** the current study,by using logistic regression analysis,we found that rs5750581T>C in 22q-SE was significantly associated with prostate cancer risk(odds ratio=1.26,P=7.61×10^(-5)).We also have found that the rs6001092T>G,in a high linkage disequilibrium with rs5750581T>C(r^(2)=0.98),is located in a regulatory aryl hydrocarbon receptor(AhR)motif and may interact with the FAM227A promoter in further bioinformatics *** then performed a series of functional and BaP acute exposure experiments to assess biological function of the genetic variant and the target ***,the rs6001092-G allele strengthened the transcription factor binding affinity to AhR,thereby upregulating FAM227A,especially upon exposure to BaP,which induced the malignant phenotypes of prostate *** current study highlights that AhR acts as an environmental sensor of BaP and is involved in the SE-mediated prostate cancer risk,which may provide new insights into the etiology of prostate cancer associated with the inherited SE variants under environmental carcinogen stressors.

Gynecological cancer significantly affect the health of *** review aimed to describe the global patterns and trends in the survival of patients with gynecological *** searched PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,SinoMed,and SEER for survival analyses of cancer registration data of cervical,endometrial,and ovarian cancers published between 1980 and ***,the highest 5-year observed survival rate for cervical cancer was 76.5% in Anshan,Liaoning,China(2008-2017).The 5-year observed survival rates of endometrial and ovarian cancers were higher in Finland(1995-1999,82.5%)and Singapore(1988-1992,62.0%).The 5-year relative survival rate of cervical cancer patients was higher in Haining,Zhejiang,China(2011-2014,85.8%).Korea ranked first at 89.0% and 64.5% for endometrial and ovarian cancers,*** rates have improved for cervical,endometrial,and ovarian *** aged≥75 years and those with advancedstage disease had the worst 5-year survival *** rates were better for squamous cell carcinoma in cervical cancer,for endometrial carcinoma and mucinous adenocarcinoma in endometrial cancer,and for germ cell and sex-cord stromal tumors in ovarian *** the past four decades,the survival rates of gynecological cancers have increased globally,with notable increases in cervical and endometrial *** rates are higher in developed countries,with a slow-growing *** studies should focus on improving survival,especially in ovarian cancer patients.

Author name disambiguation(AND)is a central task in academic search,which has received more attention recently accompanied by the increase of authors and academic *** tackle the AND problem,existing studies have proposed various approaches based on different types of information,such as raw document features(e.g.,co-authors,titles,and keywords),the fusion feature(e.g.,a hybrid publication embedding based on multiple raw document features),the local structural information(e.g.,a publication's neighborhood information on a graph),and the global structural information(e.g.,interactive information between a node and others on a graph).However,there has been no work taking all the above-mentioned information into account and taking full advantage of the contributions of each raw document feature for the AND problem so *** fill the gap,we propose a novel framework named EAND(Towards Effective Author Name Disambiguation by Hybrid Attention).Specifically,we design a novel feature extraction model,which consists of three hybrid attention mechanism layers,to extract key information from the global structural information and the local structural information that are generated from six similarity graphs constructed based on different similarity coefficients,raw document features,and the fusion *** hybrid attention mechanism layer contains three key modules:a local structural perception,a global structural perception,and a feature ***,the mean absolute error function in the joint loss function is used to introduce the structural information loss of the vector *** results on two real-world datasets demonstrate that EAND achieves superior performance,outperforming state-of-the-art methods by at least+2.74%in terms of the micro-F1 score and+3.31%in terms of the macro-F1 score.

Key Factors to Consider When Introducing a New Vaccine in Low-Income Settings: Lessons from Malawi Expanded Program on Immunization

Introduction: As new vaccines become available, countries must assess the relevance to introduce them into their vaccination schedules. Malawi has recently introduced several new vaccines and plans to introduce more. This study was conducted to identify key factors that need to be considered when deciding to introduce a new vaccine and current challenges faced by low and middle income countries using Malawi as an example. Methodology: The study employed a desk review approach, examining published literature from various sources such as PubMed, Medline, and Google Scholar. Policy documents from organizations like the World Health Organization, GAVI the Alliance, and the Ministry of Health for Malawi were also included. A total of 99 articles and documents on new vaccine introduction, challenges of immunization, policy documents in immunization and health systems strengthening were included. The review focused on addressing five key areas critical to new vaccine introduction namely: the need for a vaccine, availability of the vaccine, safety and effectiveness of the vaccine, demand for the vaccine, and the prudent use of public or private funds. Results: Malawi considered the burden of cervical cancer and the significance of malaria in the country when introducing the HPV and malaria vaccines. The country opted for vaccines that can be handled by the cold chain capacity and available human resources. Despite that malaria vaccine and Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine trials were done in country, there are limited vaccine safety and efficacy trials conducted in Malawi, leading to a reliance on WHO-prequalified vaccines. Demand for newly introduced vaccines varied, with high demand for Oral Cholera Vaccine during a cholera outbreak, while demand for COVID-19 vaccines decreased over time. The governance of France's overseas territories in Oceania has undergone a significant model transformation since the end of World War Ⅱ. In recent years, it has further highlighted its determination to pursue strategic autonomy. Through strict governance and legal mechanisms, France has promoted local autonomy and economic transformation, and has shifted the governance of these territories from colonial control to political cooperation and from predatory development to localized sustainable development. France's overseas territories in Oceania have increasingly become the fulcrum of its foreign strategy, serving the overall interests of its country and its overseas security. In recent years, France's governance policies in the region have become increasingly diversified, such as promoting economic diversification, strengthening regional security cooperation, weakening its independence tendencies, and promoting changes in the regional situation and relevant national policies.
