Genetic Variations and Nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease:Field Synopsis,Systematic Meta-Analysis,and Epidemiological Evidence

Objective To systematically summarize the published literature on the genetic variants associated with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Methods Literature from Web of Science,PubMed,and Embase between January 1980 and September 2022 was systematically ***-analyses of the genetic variants were conducted using at least five data *** epidemiologic credibility of the significant associations was graded using the Venice *** Based on literature screening,399 eligible studies were included,comprising 381 candidate gene association,16 genome-wide association,and 2 whole-exome sequencing *** identified 465 genetic variants in 173 genes in candidate gene association studies,and 25 genetic variants in 17 genes were included in the *** meta-analysis identified 11 variants in 10 genes that were significantly associated with NAFLD,with cumulative epidemiological evidence of an association graded as strong for two variants in two genes(HFE,TNF),moderate for four variants in three genes(TM6SF2,GCKR,and ADIPOQ),and weak for five variants in five genes(MBOAT7,PEMT,PNPLA3,LEPR,and MTHFR).Conclusion This study identified six variants in five genes that had moderate to strong evidence of an association with NAFLD,which may help understand the genetic architecture of NAFLD risk.

How Does the Internet Impact the public's Perception of Information Security Risk?

Clarifying the relationship between internet use and public information security risk perception helps us gain a better understanding of the factors influencing public risk ***,the relationship is still *** paper empirically examines the relationship between internet use and information security risk perception based on data from the 2021 Chinese Social *** was found that whether to use the internet and the frequency of use are both significantly positively correlated with the perception of information security *** this basis,the mechanism by which internet use affects public information security risk perceptions is verified from the perspective of interpersonal *** mechanism analysis found that interpersonal trust exerts an indirect effect between internet use and perceived information security *** findings of this study provide new insights for our further understanding of how internet use affects residents'perceptions of securityrisk.

Influence of Human Activity Intensity on Habitat Quality in Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park,China

Due to long-term human activity interference,the Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park(HTRNP)of China has experienced ecological problems such as habitat fragmentation and biodiversity loss,and with the expanding scope and intensity of human activity impact,the regional ecological security is facing serious challenges.A scientific assessment of the interrelationship between human activity intensity and habitat quality in the HTRNP is a prerequisite for achieving effective management of ecological disturbances caused by human activities and can also provide scientific strategies for the sustainable development of the *** on the land use change data in 2000,2010,and 2020,the spatial and temporal variations and the relationship between habitat quality(HQ)and human activity intensity(HAI)in the HTRNP were explored using the integrated valuation of ecosystem services and trade-offs(InVEST)*** dynamics and land use simulation models were also combined to conduct multi-scenario simulations of their *** results showed that during 2000–2020,the habitat quality of the HTRNP improved,the intensity of human activities decreased each year,and there was a negative correlation between the ***,the system dynamic model could be well coupled with the land use simulation model by combining socio-economic and natural *** simulation scenarios of the coupling model showed that the harmonious development(HD)scenario is effective in curbing the increasing trend of human activity intensity and decreasing trend of habitat quality,with a weaker trade-off between the two compared with the baseline development(BD)and investment priority oriented(IPO)*** maintain the authenticity and integrity of the HTRNP,effective measures such as ecological corridor construction,ecological restoration,and the implementation of ecological compensation policies need to be strengthened.

Construction of Prediction Model of Foodborne Disease Outbreaks and Its Trend Prediction—Guizhou Province,China,2023-2025

Objective:Foodborne diseases pose a significant public health concern *** study aims to analyze the correlation between disease prevalence and climatic conditions,forecast the pattern of foodborne disease outbreaks,and offer insights for effective prevention and control strategies and optimizing health resource allocation policies in Guizhou ***:This study utilized theχ^(2) test and four comprehensive prediction models to analyze foodborne disease outbreaks recorded in the Guizhou Foodborne Disease Outbreak system between 2012 and *** best-performing model was chosen to forecast the trend of foodborne disease outbreaks in Guizhou Province,***:Significant variations were observed in the incidence of foodborne disease outbreaks in Guizhou Province concerning various meteorological factors(all P≤0.05).Among all models,the SARIMA-ARIMAX combined model demonstrated the most accurate predictive performance(RMSE:Prophet model=67.645,SARIMA model=3.953,ARIMAX model=26.544,SARIMA-ARIMAX model=26.196;MAPE:Prophet model=42.357%,SARIMA model=37.740%,ARIMAX model=15.289%,SARIMA-ARIMAX model=13.961%).Conclusion:The analysis indicates that foodborne disease outbreaks in Guizhou Province demonstrate distinct seasonal *** is recommended to concentrate prevention efforts during peak *** SARIMA-ARIMAX hybrid model enhances the precision of monthly forecasts for foodborne disease outbreaks,offering valuable insights for future prevention and control strategies.

Changes in muscle strength and risk of cardiovascular disease among middle-aged and older adults in China:Evidence from a prospective cohort study

Background:Evidence indicates that low muscle strength is associated with an increased cardiovascular diseases(CVDs)***,the association between muscle strength changes based on repeated measurements and CVD incidence remains ***:The study used data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study in 2011(Wave 1),2013(Wave 2),2015(Wave 3),and 2018(Wave 4).Low muscle strength was defined as handgrip strength<28 kg for men or<18 kg for women,or chair-rising time≥12 *** on changes in muscle strength from Waves 1 to 2,participants were categorized into four groups of Normal-Normal,Low-Normal,Normal-Low,and *** events,including heart disease and stroke,were recorded using a self-reported questionnaire during Waves 3 and 4 *** proportional hazards models were used to investigate the association between muscle strength changes and CVD incidence after multivariable *** ratios(HRs)and 95%confidence intervals(95%CIs)were estimated with the Normal-Normal group as the ***:A total of 1164 CVD cases were identified among 6608 *** to participants with sustained normal muscle strength,the CVD risks increased progressively across groups of the Low-Normal(HR=1.20,95%CI:1.01-1.43),the Normal-Low(HR=1.35,95%CI:1.14-1.60),and the Low-Low(HR=1.76,95%CI:1.49-2.07).Similar patterns were observed for the significant associations between muscle strength status and the incidence risks of heart disease and *** analyses showed that the significant associations between CVD and muscle strength changes were consistent across age,sex,and body mass index(BMI)***:The study found that muscle strength changes were associated with CVD *** suggests that continuous tracking of muscle status may be helpful in screening cardiovascular risk.

Emerging infectious diseases have been frequently *** occurrence of infectious diseases is highly uncertain because of the unpredictability of pathogen,the complexity of occurrence time and site,and the characteristics of *** detection and immediate implementation of effective interventions within a reasonable time are the keys to preventing pandemics.[1]However,due to the insufficiency of the traditional surveillance and early warning,which relied heavily on passive reporting by healthcare institutions,[2]the early warning time lags behind the risk factor identification,syndrome differentiation(pneumonia of unknown cause),and suspected case confirmation of the infectious disease at the gateway of clustered *** paper aimed to face the challenges mentioned above and propose a universal epidemic intelligence model to establish a novel infectious disease surveillance and early warning system based on the trinity of surveillance and detection,risk assessment,and early warning.

Generation of lossy mode resonances(LMR)using perovskite nanofilms

The results presented here show for the first time the experimental demonstration of the fabrication of lossy mode resonance(LMR) devices based on perovskite coatings deposited on planar waveguides. Perovskite thin films have been obtained by means of the spin coating technique and their presence was confirmed by ellipsometry, scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction testing. The LMRs can be generated in a wide wavelength range and the experimental results agree with the theoretical simulations. Overall, this study highlights the potential of perovskite thin films for the development of novel LMR-based devices that can be used for environmental monitoring, industrial sensing, and gas detection, among other applications.
