In the era of Internet of Things(Io Ts),an energy-efficient ultraviolet(UV)photodetector(PD)is highly desirable considering the massive usage scenarios such as environmental sterilization,fire alarm and corona discharge monitoring.So far,common self-powered UV PDs are mainly based on metal-semiconductor heterostructures or p–n heterojunctions,where the limited intrinsic built-in electric field restricts further enhancement of the photoresponsivity.In this work,an extremely low-voltage field-effect UV PD is proposed using a gatedrain shorted amorphous IGZO(a-IGZO)thin film transistor(TFT)architecture.A combined investigation of the experimental measurements and technology computer-aided design(TCAD)simulations suggests that the reverse current(ⅠR)of field-effect diode(FED)is highly related with the threshold voltage(Vth)of the parental TFT,implying an enhancement-mode TFT is preferable to fabricate the field-effect UV PD with low dark current.Driven by a low bias of-0.1 V,decent UV response has been realized including large UV/visible(R_(300)/R_(550))rejection ratio(1.9×10^(3)),low dark current(1.15×10^(-12)A)as well as high photo-to-dark current ratio(PDCR,~10^(3))and responsivity(1.89 A/W).This field-effect photodiode provides a new platform to construct UV PDs with well-balanced photoresponse performance at a low bias,which is attractive for designs of large-scale smart sensor networks with high energy efficiency.

Heavy neutral gauge boson Z' is proposed in many new physics models.It has rich phenomena at the future muon collider.We study the properties of Z' boson with the process of μ^(+)μ^(-)→qq,μ^(+)μ^(-)→l^(+)l^(-),μ^(+)μ^(-)→ ZH and μ^(+)μ^(-)→ W^(+)W^(-).The discrepancy of Z' coupling to different types of particles can be shown in the cross section distributions around the resonance peak of various decay modes.Angular distributions of the final quark or lepton in μ^(+)μ^(-)→qq/l^(+)l^(-)process are sensitive to the parameters such as mass of Z' and the Z-Z' mixing angle.The interaction of new gauge boson coupling to the standard model gauge particles and Higgs boson are also studied through μ^(+)μ^(-)→ ZH→l^(+)l^(-)bb and μ^(+)u^(-)→ W^(+)W^(-)→l^(+)l^(-)v_(l)v_(l).The cross section and the final particles' angular distributions with the contribution of Z' boson differ from those processes with only standard model particles.A forward-backward asymmetry defined by the angular distribution is provided to show the potential of searching for new physics at the muon collider.Especially,the beam polarization with certain value can effectively enlarge the forward-backward asymmetry.

Stacking atomically thin films enables artificial construction of van der Waals heterostructures with exotic functionalities such as superconductivity, the quantum Hall effect, and engineered light-matter interactions.In particular, heterobilayers composed of monolayer transition metal dichalcogenides have attracted significant interest due to their controllable interlayer coupling and trapped valley excitons in moiré superlattices. However, the identification of twist-angle-modulated optical transitions in heterobilayers is sometimes controversial since both momentum-direct(K–K) and-indirect excitons reside on the low energy side of the bright exciton in the monolayer constituents. Here, we attribute the optical transition at ～1.35 eV in the WS2/WSe2heterobilayer to an indirect Γ–K transition based on a systematic analysis and comparison of experimental photoluminescence spectra with theoretical calculations. The exciton wavefunction obtained by the state-of-the-art GW-Bethe-Salpeter equation approach indicates that both the electron and hole of the excitons are contributed by the WS2layer. Polarization-resolved k-space imaging further confirms that the transition dipole moment of this optical transition is dominantly in-plane and is independent of the twist angle. The calculated absorption spectrum predicts that the so-called interlayer exciton peak coming from the K–K transition is located at 1.06 eV, but with a much weaker amplitude. Our work provides new insight into the steady-state and dynamic properties of twist-angle-dependent excitons in van der Waals heterostructures.

Gravitational waves from binary neutron stars associated with short gamma-ray bursts have drawn considerable attention due to their prospect in cosmology.For such events,the sky locations of sources can be pinpointed with techniques such as identifying the host galaxies.However,the cosmological applications of these events still suffer from the problem of degeneracy between luminosity distance and inclination angle.To address this issue,a technique was proposed in previous study,i.e.,using the collimation property of short gamma-ray bursts.Based on the observations,we assume that the cosine of inclination follows a Gaussian distribution,which may act as a prior in the Bayes analysis to break the degeneracy.This paper investigates the effects of different Gaussian priors and detector configurations on distance measurement and cosmological research.We first derive a simplified Fisher information matrix for demonstration,and then conduct quantitative analyses via simulation.By varying the number of third-generation detectors and the scale of prior,we generate four catalogs of 1000 events.It is shown that,in the same detecting period,a network of detectors can recognize more and farther events than a single detector.Besides,adopting tighter prior and employing multiple detectors both decrease the error of luminosity distance.Also considered is the performance of a widely adopted formula in the error budget,which turns out to be a conservative choice in each case.As for cosmological applications,for theΛCDM model,500,200,600,and 300 events are required for the four configurations to achieve 1%H;accuracy.With all 1000 events in each catalog,H;and?;can be constrained to(0.66%,0.37%,0.76%,0.49%),and(0.010,0.006,0.013,0.010),respectively.The results of the Gaussian process also show that the gravitational wave standard siren can serve as a probe of cosmology at high redshifts.

Using the attractive Hubbard model as an example,we theoretically investigate the gap function,superfluid density,and superconductivity(SC)transition temperature on the semiperiodic Penrose lattice.First,we clarify that the gap function,density of states,and superfluid density positively correlate to the extended degree of single-particle states around the Fermi energy.Second,we confirm that the paramagnetic component of the superfluid density does not decay to zero in the thermodynamic limit,which is completely diferent from periodic systems.Regardless of the scaling,the diference between diamagnetic and paramagnetic currents remains stable,consistent with recent experimental results showing that although the superfluid density is lower than that of a periodic system,the system has bulk SC.Third,we find that the superfluid density and SC transition temperature can be boosted with the increase in disorder strength,which should be general to quasicrystal but unusual to periodic systems,reflecting the interplay between the underlying geometry and disorder.

The Higgs sector of the standard model can be extended by introducing an SU(2)_(L) Higgs tripletΔto generate tiny neutrino masses in the framework of the type-Ⅱseesaw mechanism.In this paper,we study the pair production of the introduced Higgs triplet at future e-p colliders.The corresponding production cross sections via the vector boson fusion process at the FCC-ep and ILC■FCC are predicted,where the production of a pair of doubly charged Higgs is found to be dominant and then used to investigate the collider phenomenology of the Higgs triplet.Depending on the size of the Higgs triplet vacuum expectation value,the doubly charged Higgs may decay into a pair of same-sign charged leptons or a pair of same-sign W bosons.To explore the discovery potential of the doubly charged Higgs at future e-p colliders,we discuss these two decay scenarios in detail and show their detection sensitivity based on the mass of the doubly charged Higgs.

As a complex quantum finite many-body system,the nucleus is bound by the strong interaction between nucleons.Departing from the β-stability line,if protons/neutrons are continuously added,the valence protons/neutrons become less and less bound,and ultimately the nuclear force can no longer bind the nucleons together and consequently the proton/neutron dripline comes at vanishing binding energies.With the advent of radioactive nuclear beam devices,the nuclear landscape has been greatly expanded in the region far from the β-stability line in the past decades.

Photon-counting LiDAR using a two-dimensional(2D)array detector has the advantages of high lateral resolution and fast acquisition speed.The non-uniform intensity profile of the illumination beam and non-uniform quantum efficiency of the detectors in the 2D array deteriorate the imaging quality.Herein,we propose a photon-counting LiDAR system that uses a spatial light modulator to control the spatial intensity to compensate for both the non-uniform intensity profile of the illumination beam,and the variation in the quantum efficiency of the detectors in the 2D array.By using a 635 nm peak wavelength and 4 mW average power semiconductor laser,lab-based experiments at a 4.27 m stand-off distance are performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.Compared with the unmodulated method,the standard deviation of the intensity image of the proposed method is reduced from 0.109 to 0.089 for a whiteboard target,with an average signal photon number of 0.006 per pixel.

Improving the separation efficiency of photogenerated carriers and broadening the light absorption range of the photocatalyst are two important factors for improving the performance of the photocatalyst.In this paper,a new and efficient Z-scheme Cd S/iron phthalocyanine(Cd S/Fe Pc)core-shell nanostructure composite material is prepared by a simple solid-phase reaction method.There are two key points in the preparation of composite materials:one is that hydrogen bonding energy is closely connected with Fe Pc,another is that Fe Pc can be uniformly assembled on Cd S nanoparticles.The photocatalytic hydrogen evolution(PHE)of the Cd S/Fe Pc nanocomposite(73.01μmol/h)is 2.6 times higher than that of pure Cd S(26.67μmol/h).In addition,after 4 photocatalytic cycles,the PHE of the Cd S/Fe Pc composite is still 92.3%of the first cycle.There are three reasons for this situation:(1)The Z-scheme heterojunction is formed to improve the separation efficiency of photogenerated carriers;(2)Fe Pc expands the visible light absorption range of Cd S;(3)The large core-shell contact area is favorable for the separation of photo-induced carriers at the interfaces.This research is conducive to the further development of new photocatalytic materials with high efficiency,low cost and simple preparation.
