Competitive assembling strategy to construct carbon nitride homojunctions for boosting photocatalytic performance

Both morphology and composition have a great influence on the properties and functions of materials,however,how to rational modulate both of them to achieve their synergistic effects has been a longstanding ***,we demonstrate a competitive assembling strategy for the construction of metal-free graphite carbon nitride(CN)homojunctions in which morphology and composition can be easily controlled simultaneously by only changing the ratio of assembly raw *** homojunctions are comprised of porous nanotubular S-doped CN(SCN)grafted with CN nanovesicles,which are derived from thermal polycondensation of melamine-thiocyanuric acid(M-T)/melamine-cyanuric acid(M-C)supramolecular hybrid *** unique architecture and component engineering endows the novel SCN-CN homojunction with abundant active sites,enhanced visible trapping ability,and intimate interface *** a result,the synthesized SCN-CN homojunctions demonstrate high photocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution and pollutant *** developed strategy opens up intriguing opportu-nities for the rational construction of intricate metal-free heterostructures with controllable architecture and interfacial contact for applications in energy-related fields.

Side ionic-gated perovskite/graphene heterojunction synaptic transistor with bipolar photoresponse for neuromorphic computing

By combining the good charge transport property of graphene and the excellent photo-carrier generation char-acteristic of perovskite nanocrystal,we propose and demonstrate an ionic-gated synaptic transistor based on CsPbBr_(3)∕graphene heterojunction for bipolar *** the potential barrier of the CsPbBr_(3)∕graphene heterojunction by the ionic-gate of the electrical double-layer effect can promote the sepa-ration of photogenerated carriers and effectively retard their *** the ionic-gate-tunable Fermi level of graphene and the pinning effect of perovskite nanocrystal,the bipolar photocurrent responses correspond-ing to the excitatory and inhibitory short-term and long-term plasticity are realized by adjusting the negative gate bias.A series of synaptic functions including logic operation,Morse coding,the optical memory and electrical erasure effect,and light-assisted re-learning have also been demonstrated in an optoelectronic collaborative ***,the excellent optical synaptic behaviors also contribute to the handwritten font recognition accuracy of-95%in artificial neural network *** results pave the way for the fabrication of bipolar photoelectric synaptic transistors and bolster new directions in the development of future integrated human ret-inotopic vision neuromorphic systems.

Simultaneously enhancing erosion and compression resistance:designing AlCoCrFeNi high-entropy alloy strengthened Ag-based contacts

Designing microstructures and unveiling dynamic erosion mechanisms remain important challenges for Ag-based contacts. To simultaneously enhance erosion and compression resistance, an Al Co Cr Fe Ni high-entropy alloy(HEA) is introduced into Ag-based materials to fabricate novel Ag-HEA contacts with island-and skeletonrestricted microstructures. The arc erosion experimental results reveal that the skeleton-restricted HEA microstructure is the key factor in reducing the hill and crater morphologies of the contact surface, effectively delaying material transfer between the movable and stationary contacts. The molten bridge evolution and compressive deformation behavior of Ag-HEA contacts with various microstructures are investigated using molecular dynamics(MD) simulations. MD results indicate that the constraint of Ag atom diffusion in the molten pool and the involvement of HEA atoms in the molten bridge are the primary mechanisms for improving erosion resistance. The skeleton-restricted HEA microstructure reduces the total energy and structural stability of the molten bridge system and promotes its fracture and disintegration. Moreover, the synergistic effect of the twin and Lomerz–Cottrell lock structures can hinder dislocation glide, generating dispersed and small-area stacking faults in the Ag matrix and mitigating the concentration of shear strains. Thus, the skeleton-restricted HEA microstructure contributes positively to compression resistance. This study presents a novel approach to designing Ag-based contacts.

materials with kagome lattices have attracted significant research attention due to their nontrivial features in energy *** theoretically investigate the evolution of electronic band structures of kagome lattices in response to uniaxial strain using both a tight-binding model and an antidot model based on a periodic muffin-tin *** is found that the Dirac points move with applied ***,the flat band of unstrained kagome lattices is found to develop into a highly anisotropic shape under a stretching strain along y direction,forming a partially flat band with a region dispersionless along ky direction while dispersive along kx *** results shed light on the possibility of engineering the electronic band structures of kagome materials by mechanical strain.

Manipulating magnetic domain structure plays a key role in advanced spintronics *** rationale is that the labyrinthine domain structure,normally appearing in ferromagnetic thin films with strong magnetic anisotropy,shows a great potential to increase data storage density for designing magnetic nonvolatile memory and logic ***,an electrical control of labyrinthine domain structure remains ***,we demonstrate the gate-driven evolution of labyrinthine domain structures in an itinerant ferromagnet Cr_(7)Te_(8).By combining electric transport measurements and micromagnetic finite difference simulations,we find that the hysteresis loop of anomalous Hall effect in Cr_(7)Te_(8)samples shows distinct features corresponding to the generation of labyrinthine domain *** labyrinthine domain structures are found to be electrically tunable via Li-electrolyte gating,and such gate-driven evolution in Cr_(7)Te_(8)originates from the reduction of the magnetic anisotropic energy with gating,revealed by our micromagnetic *** results on the gate control of anomalous Hall effect in an itinerant magnetic material provide an opportunity to understand the formation and evolution of labyrinthine domain structures,paving a new route towards electric-field driven spintronics.

Antimony(Sb)-ba sed anode materials are feasible candidates for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs) due to their high theoretical specific capacity and excellent electrical ***,they still suffer from volume distortion,structural collapse,and ionic conduction interruption upon ***,a hierarchical array-like nanofiber structure was designed to address these limitations by combining architecture engineering and anion tuning strategy,in which SbPO_(4-x) with oxygen vacancy nanosheet arrays are anchored on the surface of interwoven carbon nanofibers(SbPO_(4-x)@CNFs).In particular,bulky PO_(4)^(3-) anions mitigate the large volume distortion and generate Na_(3)PO_(4) with high ionic conductivity,collectively improving cyclic stability and ionic transport *** abundant oxygen vacancies substantially boost the intrinsic electronic conductivity of SbPO_4,further accelerating the reaction *** addition,hierarchical fibrous structures provide abundant active sites,construct efficient conducting networks,and enhance the electron/ion transport *** from the advanced structural design,the SbPO_(4-x)@CNFs electrodes exhibit outstanding cycling stability(1000 cycles at 1.0 A g^(-1) with capacity decay of 0.05% per cycle) and rapid sodium storage performance(293.8 mA h g^(-1) at 5.0 A g^(-1)).Importantly,systematic in-/ex-situ techniques have revealed the "multi-step conversion-alloying" reaction process and the "battery-capacitor dual-mode" sodium-storage *** work provides valuable insights into the design of anode materials for advanced SIBs with elevated stability and superior rate performance.

The emergence of novel self-powered humidity sensors has attracted considerable attention in the fields of smart electronic devices and personal ***,self-powered humidity sensors have been fabricated using a moisture-driven energy generation(MEG)device based on asymmetric tubular graphitic carbon nitride(g-CN)films prepared on anodized aluminum(AAO)*** a relative humidity(RH)of 96%,the MEG device can provide an open-circuit voltage of 0.47 V and a short-circuit current of 3.51μA,with a maximum output power of 0.08μ*** inherent self-powered ability and humidity response via current variation,an extraordinary response of 1.78×106%(41%-96%RH)can be gained from the MEG *** possible power generation mechanism is that g-CN/AAO heterostructure can form ion gradient and diffusion under the action of moisture to convert chemical potential into electrical potential,evoking a connaturally sensitive response to ***-powered respiration monitoring device based on the sensor is designed to monitor human movement(sitting,warming up,and running)and sleep status(normal,snoring,and apnea),maintaining excellent stability during cumulative 12-h respiration *** self-powered humidity sensing technology has promising potential for extensive integration into smart electronic and round-the-clock health monitoring devices.

Multi-functional photonic spin Hall effect sensor controlled by phase transition

Photonic spin Hall effect(PSHE), as a novel physical effect in light–matter interaction, provides an effective metrological method for characterizing the tiny variation in refractive index(RI). In this work, we propose a multi-functional PSHE sensor based on VO_(2), a material that can reveal the phase transition behavior. By applying thermal control, the mutual transformation into different phase states of VO_(2) can be realized, which contributes to the flexible switching between multiple RI sensing tasks. When VO_(2) is insulating, the ultrasensitive detection of glucose concentrations in human blood is achieved. When VO_(2) is in a mixed phase, the structure can be designed to distinguish between the normal cells and cancer cells through no-label and real-time monitoring. When VO_(2) is metallic, the proposed PSHE sensor can act as an RI indicator for gas analytes. Compared with other multi-functional sensing devices with the complex structures, our design consists of only one analyte and two VO_(2) layers, which is very simple and elegant. Therefore, the proposed VO_(2)-based PSHE sensor has outstanding advantages such as small size, high sensitivity, no-label, and real-time detection, providing a new approach for investigating tunable multi-functional sensors.

Critical behavior of quasi-two-dimensional ferromagnet Cr1.04Te2

The self-intercalation of Cr into pristine two-dimensional（2D） van der Waals ferromagnetic CrTe2,which forms chromium tellurides（CrxTe2）,has garnered interest due to their remarkable magnetic characteristics and the wide variety of chemical compositions ***,comprehensive basic characterization and magnetic studies are conducted on quasi-2D ferromagnetic *** of the isothermal magnetization curves are conducted around the critical temperature to systematically investigate the critical ***,the critical exponents β=0.2399,γ=0.859,and δ=4.3498,as well as the Curie temperature TC=249.56 K,are determined using various methods,including the modified Arrott plots,the Kouvel-Fisher method,the Widom scaling method,and the critical isotherm *** results indicate that the tricritical mean-field model accurately represents the critical behavior of Cr1.04Te2.A magnetic phase diagram with tricritical phenomenon is thus *** investigations confirm that the critical exponents obtained conform to the scalar equation near TC,indicating their self-consistency and *** work sheds light on the magnetic properties of quasi-2D Cr1.04Te2,broadening the scope of the van der Waals crystals for developments of future spintronic devices operable at room temperature.

Three-dimensional porous In_(2)O_(3) arrays for self-powered transparent solar-blind photodetectors with high responsivity and excellent spectral selectivity

Transparent solar-blind ultraviolet photodetectors(SBUV PDs)have extensive applications in versatile scenarios,such as optical ***,it is still challenging to simultaneously achieve high responsivity,high transparency,and satisfying self-powered ***,we demonstrated high-performance,transparent,and self-powered photoelectrochemical-type(PEC)SBUV PDs based on vertically grown ultrathin In_(2)O_(3) nanosheet arrays(NAs)with a three-dimensional(3D)porous *** 3D porous structure simultaneously improves the transmittance in the visible light region,accelerates interfacial reaction kinetics,and promotes photogenerated carrier *** performance of In_(2)O_(3) NAs photoanodes exceeds most reported self-powered PEC SBUV PDs,exhibiting a high transmittance of approximately 80%in the visible light region,a high responsivity of 86.15 mA/W for 254 nm light irradiation,a fast response speed of 15/18 ms,and good multicycle *** In_(2)O_(3) NAs also show excellent spectral selectivity with an ultrahigh solar-blind rejection ratio of 1319.30,attributed to the quantum confinement effect induced by the ultrathin feature(2-3 nm).Furthermore,In_(2)O_(3) NAs photoanodes show good capability in underwater optical *** work demonstrated that a 3D porous structure is a powerful strategy to synchronously achieve high responsivity and transparency and provides a new perspective for designing high-performance,transparent,and self-powered PEC SBUV PDs.
