Memory serves as a critical component in today's electronic systems for data storage and processing. In traditional computer architectures, the logic and memory units are physically separated, due to the performance gap in operational speed and capacity among memories, resulting in the fundamental limitation of the von Neumann computers.

We present a study of low surface brightness galaxies(LSBGs) selected by fitting the images for all the galaxies inα.40 SDSS DR7 sample with two kinds of single-component models and two kinds of two-component models(disk+bulge):single exponential,single sersic,exponential+deVaucular(exp+deV),and exponential+sérsic(exp+ser).Under the criteria of the B band disk central surface brightness μ_(0,disk)(B)≥22.5 mag arcsec^(-2) and the axis ratio b/a> 0.3,we selected four none-edge-on LSBG samples from each of the models which contain 1105,1038,207,and 75 galaxies,respectively.There are 756 galaxies in common between LSBGs selected by exponential and sersic models,corresponding to 68.42% of LSBGs selected by the exponential model and 72.83% of LSBGs selected by the sersic model,the rest of the discrepancy is due to the difference in obtaining μ_(0) between the exponential and sersic models.Based on the fitting,in the range of 0.5≤n≤1.5,the relation of μ_(0) from two models can be written as μ_(0,sérsic)-μ_(0,exp)=-1.34(n-1).The LSBGs selected by disk+bulge models(LSBG_(2)comps) are more massive than LSBGs selected by single-component models(LSBG_1comp),and also show a larger disk component.Though the bulges in the majority of our LSBG_(2)comps are not prominent,more than 60% of our LSBG_(2)comps will not be selected if we adopt a single-component model only.We also identified 31 giant low surface brightness galaxies(gLSBGs) from LSBG_(2)comps.They are located at the same region in the color-magnitude diagram as other gLSBGs.After we compared different criteria of gLSBGs selection,we find that for gas-rich LSBGs,M_(*)> 10^(10)M_⊙ is the best to distinguish between gLSBGs and normal LSBGs with bulge.

A modified deep convolutional generative adversarial network(M-DCGAN)frame is proposed to study the N-dimensional(ND)topological quantities in lattice QCD based on Monte Carlo(MC)simulations.We construct a new scaling structure including fully connected layers to support the generation of high-quality high-dimensional images for the M-DCGAN.Our results suggest that the M-DCGAN scheme of machine learning will help to more efficiently calculate the 1D distribution of topological charge and the 4D topological charge density compared with MC simulation alone.

The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope（FAST） has the largest aperture and a 19-beam L-band receiver,making it powerful for investigating the neutral hydrogen atomic gas（H?） in the universe.We present HiFAST（https://hifast.***.io）,a dedicated,modular,and self-contained calibration and imaging pipeline for processing the H?data of FAST.The pipeline consists of frequency-dependent noise diode calibration,baseline fitting,standing wave removal using an FFT-based method,flux density calibration,stray radiation correction,and gridding to produce data cubes.These modules can be combined as needed to process the data from most FAST observation modes:tracking,drift scanning,On-The-Fly mapping,and most of their variants.With HiFAST,the root-mean-square（RMS） noises of the calibrated spectra from all 19 beams were only slightly（～5%） higher than the theoretical expectation.The results for the extended source M33 and the point sources are consistent with the results from Arecibo.The moment maps（0,1 and 2） of M33 agree well with the results from the Arecibo Galaxy Environment Survey（AGES） with a fractional difference of less than 10%.For a common sample of 221 sources with signal-to-noise ratio S/N>10 from the Arecibo Legacy Fast ALFA（ALFALFA） survey,the mean value of fractional difference in the integrated flux density,Sint,between the two datasets is approximately 0.005%,with a dispersion of 15.4%.Further checks on the integrated flux density of 23 sources with seven observations indicate that the variance in the flux density of the source with luminous objects(Sint>2.5 Jy km s-1) is less than 5%.Our tests suggest that the FAST telescope,with the efficient,precise,and user-friendly pipeline HiFAST,will yield numerous significant scientific findings in the investigation of the H? in the universe.

Decays of unstable heavy particles usually involve the coherent sum of several amplitudes,like in a multiple slit experiment.Dedicated amplitude analysis techniques have been widely used to resolve these amplitudes for better understanding of the underlying dynamics.In special cases where two spin-1/2 particles and two(pseudo-)scalar particles are present in the process,multiple equivalent solutions are found owing to intrinsic symmetries in the summed probability density function.In this study,the problem of multiple solutions is discussed,and a scheme to overcome this problem is proposed by fixing some free parameters.Toys are generated to validate the strategy.A new approach to align the helicities of initial-and final-state particles in different decay chains is also introduced.

We present a novel class of Rydberg-mediated nuclear-spin entanglement in divalent atoms with global laser pulses.First,we show a fast nuclear-spin controlled phase gate of an arbitrary phase realizable either with two laser pulses when assisted by Stark shifts,or with three pulses.Second,we propose to create an electrons−nuclei-entangled state,which is named a super bell state(SBS)for it mimics a large Bell state incorporating three small Bell states.Third,we show a protocol to create a three-atom electrons-nuclei entangled state which contains the three-body W and Greenberger−Horne−Zeilinger(GHZ)states simultaneously.These protocols possess high intrinsic fidelities,do not require single-site Rydberg addressing,and can be executed with large Rydberg Rabi frequencies in a weak,Gauss-scale magnetic field.The latter two protocols can enable measurement-based preparation of Bell,hyperentangled,and GHZ states,and,specifically,SBS can enable quantum dense coding where one can share three classical bits of information by sending one particle.

Fabrication of Biomimetic Surface for Hydrophobic and Anti-icing Purposes via the Capillary Force Lithography

In this paper,inspired by lotus leaf surfaces,we fabricated biomimetic multi-scale micro-nano-structures by Two-Step Capillary Force Lithography(TS-CFL)and UV-assisted Capillary Force Lithography(UV-CFL).The experimental results indicated that TS-CFL was unfitted to fabricate large-area multi-scale micro-nano-structures.Conversely,UV-CFL can fabricate large-area multi-scale micro-nano-structures.We discussed the hydrophobic and anti-icing properties of the biomimetic surfaces fabricated by these two technologies.We found that small structures are significant for improving the hydrophobic anti-icing properties of single-structured or structureless surfaces.We believe that these results can complement the experimental details of both technologies and enable the development of more interesting micro-nano-structures biomimetic surfaces by both technologies in the future.

Mass suppression effect in QCD radiation and hadron angular distribution in jet

The finite mass of the heavy quark suppresses the collimated radiations;this is generally referred to as the dead cone effect.In this paper,we study the distribution of hadron multiplicity over the hadron opening angle with respect to the jet axis for various jet flavors.The corresponding measurement can be the most straightforward and simplest approach to explore the dynamical evolution of the radiations in the corresponding jet,which can expose the mass effect.We also propose a transverse energy-weighted angular distribution,which sheds light on the interplay between perturbative and non-perturbative effects in the radiation.Through Monte-Carlo simulations,our calculations show that the dead cone effect can be clearly observed by finding the ratio between the b and light-quark(inclusive)jets;this is expected to be measured at the LHC in the future.

One hallmark of glasses is the existence of excess vibrational modes at low frequenciesωbeyond Debye’s prediction.Numerous studies suggest that understanding low-frequency excess vibrations could help gain insight into the anomalous mechanical and thermodynamic properties of glasses.However,there is still intensive debate as to the frequency dependence of the population of low-frequency excess vibrations.In particular,excess modes could hybridize with phonon-like modes and the density of hybridized excess modes has been reported to follow D_(exc)(ω)~ω^(2)in 2D glasses with an inverse power law potential.Yet,the universality of the quadratic scaling remains unknown,since recent work suggested that interaction potentials could influence the scaling of the vibrational spectrum.Here,we extend the universality of the quadratic scaling for hybridized excess modes in 2D to glasses with potentials ranging from the purely repulsive soft-core interaction to the hard-core one with both repulsion and attraction as well as to glasses with significant differences in density or interparticle repulsion.Moreover,we observe that the number of hybridized excess modes exhibits a decrease in glasses with higher density or steeper interparticle repulsion,which is accompanied by a suppression of the strength of the sound attenuation.Our results indicate that the density bears some resemblance to the repulsive steepness of the interaction in influencing low-frequency properties.
