Purpose:Screen-based sedentary behavior(SSB)has been identiﬁed as risk factor for mental disorders in most of adolescents.However,there is little literature pertaining to the speciﬁc kinds of SSB and its connections with depressive symptoms in most of adolescents.In the present study,we are going toﬁnd out the connections between speciﬁc types of SSB and depressive symptoms in Chinese adolescents.Methods:A cross-sectional data based on 996 study participants of middle school students in Guangdong Province.SSB was evaluated by distri-buting the questionnaire of Health Behavior in school-aged Children,while depressive symptoms were evaluated using Chinese version of Children’s Depressive symptoms Inventory(CDI).SSB was categorized into TV/movie time,video games time and other electronic devices-based time(e.g.,mobile phone,computer use).Generalized linear models was used to explore the connections between speciﬁc kinds of SSB and depressive symptoms.Results:After controlling for variables of sex,ethnicity,grade,residence,siblings,perceived family afﬂuence,father educational level,mother educational background,body mass index(BMI),physical exercise,duration of sleep,other electronic devices-based time was positively correlated with depressive symptoms in Chinese adolescents(B=0.557%,95%CI:0.187–0.926,p=0.003).This signiﬁcant connection was also found in girls(B=0.728%,95%CI:0.230–1.225,p=0.004)instead of boys(p>0.05).The other types of SSB were not signiﬁ-cantly in relation to depressive symptoms in adolescents regardless of sex.Conclusion:This study suggested that it might be effective in reducing or preventing depressive symptoms through limiting electronic devices-based time,like computer use or mobile phone use time.This strategy would be particularly useful in girls.Future stu-dies should negate or replicate the research results by introducing more improved study design,which is beneﬁcial to better understand the connections between SSB and depressive symptoms as well as then design more efﬁcient interventions

physical education and training is considered as a new subject among the same type of discipline.It has a short history background and is relatively young.However,the influence of the discipline of physical education and training must not be ignored by simply blaming it as the youngest discipline.In addition,especially in the case of rapid economic development and rapid improvement in living standards today,the influence of this discipline is relatively strong.Therefore,this thesis mainly studies the subject nature and object of physical education training.The research object of this subject can be studied from three key points,such as:the curriculum of the subject,the research method and the research of the subject of education.The comprehensive development of physical education and physical education is a comprehensive discipline.

目的:本研究旨在分析有氧运动干预停止后,运动对超重/肥胖女性腹部脂肪含量和胰岛素抵抗(HOMA-IR)的作用是否消失。方法:研究对象来自2项相似的独立有氧运动干预研究。研究Ⅰ中,15名绝经后并患有糖尿病的超重,肥胖女性(BMI=24-33 kg/m^2,年龄52-65岁)完成为期8个月的有氧运动干预,并在干预停止后2年随访。研究Ⅱ中,12名绝经前的超重/肥胖妇女(BMI=25-35 kg/m^2,年龄30-50岁)接受为期6周的有氧运动干预,并在干预停止后4年随访。运动方案中,运动强度为60%-75%最大摄氧量、每次30-60 min,每周3-5次运动。通过双能X线(DXA Prodigy;研究1)或生物电阻抗(Inbody 720;研究Ⅱ)测定脂肪含量。用化学荧光免疫法测定血浆葡萄糖和胰岛素水平,算出胰岛素抵抗水平(HOMA-IR)。结果:8个月和6周中等强度有氧运动干预均能有效降低HOMA-IR(-18.9%,p=0.012;-26.7%,p=0.046),8个月的有氧运动干预使上腹部脂肪含量降低(-6.2%,p=0.021),但这些作用在干预停止后的随访中均消失。结论:有氧运动干预能有效降低超重/肥胖女性的腹部脂肪含量和胰岛素抵抗水平。但无论短期还是长期有氧运动,在干预停止后其产生的益处都消退。因此,为获得长期益处,有必要维持长期有氧运动。

Purpose: This study presents the most recent estimates of prevalence of overweight, obesity, and screen-time viewing among Chinese school-aged children. Demographic differences in these estimates between sexes and resident locales were also examined.Methods: Cross-sectional analyses of 116,615 Chinese school children 9 to 17 years of age who participated in the 2016 physical Activity and Fitness in China—The Youth Study project. Outcomes were the prevalence of children's overweight(85 th ≤ body mass index(BMI) school). Analyses were conducted on the whole sample and by school grade cohorts(primary, junior middle, and junior high schools), sex, and residence locales(urban, rural).Results: Overall, 14.4%(95% confidence interval(CI): 13.8%–15.0%) of children and adolescents were overweight, 11.9%(95%CI: 11.0%–13.0%) were obese, and 36.8%(95%CI: 34.7%–38.9%) did not meet screen-time viewing recommendations. Across the 3-grade cohorts, boys were more likely to be obese than girls, and primary and junior middle school children living in urban areas were more likely to be obese than those living in rural areas. Primary and junior middle school boys were less likely to meet screen-time recommendations than girls, and junior high school children living in urban areas were less likely to meet screen-time recommendations than school children of the same grades living in rural areas.Conclusion: In 2016, the prevalence of obesity among Chinese school children was about 12%, and about 37% of them did not meet screen-time viewing recommendations. The prevalence of obesity and sedentary behavior was generally higher among boys than among girls, and it was higher for children living in urban areas than for those living in rural areas.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the association between school and community physical activity(PA) characteristics and levels of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity(MVPA) among Chinese school children.Methods: Data were obtained from the 2016 physical Activity and Fitness in China—The Youth Study project. Participants were 80,928 school children(Grades 4–12; 39,747 boys, 41,181 girls; mean age = 13 years) and 935 physical education(PE) teachers who completed a study survey.Independent variables included both school-related factors(school-level PA support, availability of and access to PA facilities, and the duration of school PE classes) and community-related factors(the frequency of sports events, sports training opportunities, availability of sports clubs and organizations, and access to PA facilities). The dependent variable was the children's self-reported participation in MVPA. The data were analyzed,in 2017, via multilevel modeling.Results: PA support from school administrators was the only school-level factor significantly related to children's participation in MVPA.Children's perceptions of the frequency of community-sponsored sports events, availability of sports clubs and organizations, and convenient access to PA facilities were associated with a high level of MVPA participation. In regard to residency in urban and rural areas, children attending urban schools who perceived high availability of PA facilities were associated with a low level of participation in MVPA.Conclusion: school support for PA and community PA resources are associated with MVPA among Chinese school children. school PA facilities appear underutilized among urban schools as evidenced by low levels of MVPA among school children.

As adolescent mental health problems are becoming a more serious issue globally,this paper explores the relationship of physical activity in adolescents and its frequency on mental health as well as examines the mediating effects of life satisfaction and self-rated health in order to provide a reference for the promotion of mental health in adolescents.A sample of 3578 Chinese high school students completed questionnaires assessing their mental health,physical activity frequency,life satisfaction,and self-rated health.The mean SCL-90 value for adolescents was found to be 1.629%,and 24.73%of adolescents had varying degrees of mental health issue.Increased physical activity frequency is positively associated with improved mental health(pphysical activity frequency and mental health.Specifically,low-frequency physical activity had the most pronounced mediating effect on mental health through life satisfaction,while high-frequency physical activity exerted the most significant mediating effect on mental health through self-rated health.These findings underscore the importance of promoting physical activity among adolescents and highlight the distinct pathways through which physical activity frequency can influence mental health outcomes.Further research is needed to explore these relationships in diverse populations and settings,as well as to develop targeted intervention.

State laws governing school physical education in relation to attendance and physical activity among students in the USA: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Background:This study systematically synthesized and quantified the relationship linking state laws governing school physical education(PE)to PE attendance and physical activity(PA)in class and throughout the day and week among students in the USA.Methods:A keyword search was performed in PubMed,Web of Science,Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature(CINAHL),Academic Search Complete,and EconLit.Meta-analyses were performed to estimate the effects of state PE laws.Results:A total of 17 studies were included in the review,and five contributed to the meta-analyses.A total of 8 studies used nationally representative school-or student-level data,three focused on multiple states,and the remaining six examined the PE laws of a single state.The presence and strength of state PE laws were positively associated with PE attendance and the frequency and duration of PA during PE classes and throughout the school day.Compared to those residing in states with weak or no PE laws,students in states with strong PE laws had an additional 0.2 days(95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.10.4)of PE attendance per week and spent an additional 33.9 min(95%CI:22.745.0)participating PE classes per week.State PE laws affected girls’PA more than boys’.Different aspects of state PE laws tended to affect students’PE attendance differently.Disparities in the implementation of state PE laws existed across schools.Conclusion:Future studies should adopt objective measures on PE and PA participation and examine the roles schools and districts play in mediating the effect of state PE laws on students’PE attendance and PA.

Purpose:This study aimed to examine the effects of plyometric jump training(PJT)on lower-limb stiffness.Methods:Systematic searches were conducted in PubMed,Web of Science,and Scopus.Study participants included healthy males and females who undertook a PJT programme isolated from any other training type.Results:There was a small effect size(ES)of PJT on lower-limb stiffness(ES=0.33,95%confidence interval(95%CI):0.07-0.60,z=2.47,p=0.01).Untrained individuals exhibited a larger ES(ES=0.46,95%CI:0.08-0.84,p=0.02)than trained individuals(ES=0.15,95%CI:-0.23 to 0.53,p=0.45).Interventions lasting a greater number of weeks(>7 weeks)had a larger ES(ES=0.47,95%CI:0.06-0.88,p=0.03)than those lasting fewer weeks(ES=0.22,95%CI:-0.12 to 0.55,p=0.20).Programmes with2 sessions per week(ES=0.20,95%CI:-0.10 to 0.50,p=0.18).Programmes with500 jumps per week had negative effects(ES=-0.22,95%CI:-1.10 to 0.67,p=0.63).Programmes with>7.5 jumps per set showed larger effect sizes(ES=0.55,95%CI:0.02-1.08,p=0.04)than those with7 weeks).
