The breaking of spin symmetry in the single-particle resonances in deformed nuclei

The exploration of spin symmetry (SS) in nuclear physics has been instrumental in identifying atomic nucleus structures.In this study,we solve the Dirac equation from the relativistic mean field (RMF) in complex momentum representation.We investigated SS and its breaking in single-particle resonant states within deformed nuclei,with a focus on the illustrative nucleus168Er.This was the initial discovery of a resonant spin doublet in a deformed nucleus,with the expectation of the SS approaching the continuum threshold.With increasing single-particle energy,the splitting of the resonant spin doublets widened significantly.This escalating splitting implies diminishing adherence to the SS,indicating a departure from the expected behavior as the energy levels increase.We also analyzed the width of the resonant states,showing that lower orbital angular momentum resonances possess shorter decay times and that SS is preserved within broad resonant doublets,as opposed to narrow resonant doublets.Comparing the radial density of the upper components for the bound-state and resonant-state doublets,it becomes evident that while SS is well-preserved in the bound states,it deteriorates in the resonant states.The impact of nuclear deformation (β_(2)) on SS was examined,demonstrating that an increase in β_(2) resulted in higher energy and width splitting in the resonant spin doublets,which is attributed to increased component mixing.Furthermore,the sensitivity of spin doublets to various potential parameters such as surface diffuseness (a),radius (R),and depth (Σ0) is discussed,emphasizing the role of these parameters in SS.This study provides valuable insights into the behavior of spin doublets in deformed nuclei and their interplay with the nuclear structure,thereby advancing our understanding of SS in the resonance state.

In order to reduce the number of redundant candidate codewords generated by the fast successive cancellation list(FSCL) decoding algorithm for polar codes, a simplified FSCL decoding algorithm based on critical sets(CS-FSCL) of polar codes is proposed. The algorithm utilizes the number of information bits belonging to the CS in the special nodes, such as Rate-1 node, repetition(REP) node and single-parity-check(SPC) node, to constrain the number of the path splitting and avoid the generation of unnecessary candidate codewords, and thus the latency and computational complexity are reduced. Besides, the algorithm only flips the bits corresponding to the smaller log-likelihood ratio(LLR) values to generate the sub-maximum likelihood(sub-ML) decoding codewords and ensure the decoding performance. Simulation results show that for polar codes with the code length of 1 024, the code rates of 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4, the proposed CS-FSCL algorithm, compared with the conventional FSCL decoding algorithm, can achieve the same decoding performance, but reduce the latency and computational complexity at different list sizes. Specifically, under the list size of L=8, the code rates of R=1/2 and R=1/4, the latency is reduced by 33% and 13% and the computational complexity is reduced by 55% and 50%, respectively.

The FitzHugh–Nagumo neuron circuit integrates a piezoelectric ceramic to form a piezoelectric sensing neuron,which can capture external sound signals and simulate the auditory neuron system.Two piezoelectric sensing neurons are coupled by a parallel circuit consisting of a Josephson junction and a linear resistor,and a binaural auditory system is established.Considering the non-singleness of external sound sources,the high–low frequency signal is used as the input signal to study the firing mode transition and synchronization of this system.It is found that the angular frequency of the high–low frequency signal is a key factor in determining whether the dynamic behaviors of two coupled neurons are synchronous.When they are in synchronization at a specific angular frequency,the changes in physical parameters of the input signal and the coupling strength between them will not destroy their synchronization.In addition,the firing mode of two coupled auditory neurons in synchronization is affected by the characteristic parameters of the high–low frequency signal rather than the coupling strength.The asynchronous dynamic behavior and variations in firing modes will harm the auditory system.These findings could help determine the causes of hearing loss and devise functional assistive devices for patients.

In this paper,inspired by lotus leaf surfaces,we fabricated biomimetic multi-scale micro-nano-structures by Two-Step Capillary Force Lithography(TS-CFL)and UV-assisted Capillary Force Lithography(UV-CFL).The experimental results indicated that TS-CFL was unfitted to fabricate large-area multi-scale micro-nano-structures.Conversely,UV-CFL can fabricate large-area multi-scale micro-nano-structures.We discussed the hydrophobic and anti-icing properties of the biomimetic surfaces fabricated by these two technologies.We found that small structures are significant for improving the hydrophobic anti-icing properties of single-structured or structureless surfaces.We believe that these results can complement the experimental details of both technologies and enable the development of more interesting micro-nano-structures biomimetic surfaces by both technologies in the future.

With the development of artificial intelligence,neural network provides unique opportunities for holography,such as high fidelity and dynamic calculation.How to obtain real 3D scene and generate high fidelity hologram in real time is an urgent problem.Here,we propose a liquid lens based holographic camera for real 3D scene hologram acquisition using an end-to-end physical model-driven network(EEPMD-Net).As the core component of the liquid camera,the first 10 mm large aperture electrowetting-based liquid lens is proposed by using specially fabricated solution.The design of the liquid camera ensures that the multi-layers of the real 3D scene can be obtained quickly and with great imaging performance.The EEPMD-Net takes the information of real 3D scene as the input,and uses two new structures of encoder and decoder networks to realize low-noise phase generation.By comparing the intensity information between the reconstructed image after depth fusion and the target scene,the composite loss function is constructed for phase optimization,and the high-fidelity training of hologram with true depth of the 3D scene is realized for the first time.The holographic camera achieves the high-fidelity and fast generation of the hologram of the real 3D scene,and the reconstructed experiment proves that the holographic image has the advantage of low noise.The proposed holographic camera is unique and can be used in 3D display,measurement,encryption and other fields.

This study explores the ground-state characteristics of neutron-rich sodium isotopes,encompassing two-neutron separation energies,root-mean-square radii,quadrupole moments of proton and neutron distributions,single-particle levels of bound and resonant states,and neutron density distributions and shapes.Simultaneously,special attention is paid to the distinctive physical phenomena associated with these isotopes.The deformed relativistic mean field theory in complex momentum representations with BCS pairings(DRMF-CMR-BCS)employed in our research provides resonant states with real physics,offering insights into deformed halo nuclei.Four effective interactions(NL3,NL3^(*),PK1,and NLSH)were considered to assess the influence of continuum and deformation effects on halo structures.Calculations for odd-even nuclei ^(35–43)Na revealed the dependence on the chosen effective interaction and number of considered resonant states.Neutron occupation patterns near the Fermi surface,particularly in orbitals 1/2^(−)_(3) and 3/2^(−)_(2),were determined to be crucial in halo formation.The study provided detailed insights into the density distributions,shape evolution,and structure of neutron-rich sodium isotopes,contributing valuably to the field of nuclear physics.

A quasi-phase-matched technique is introduced for soliton transmission in a quadratic[χ^((2))]nonlinear crystal to realize the stable transmission of dipole solitons in a one-dimensional space under three-wave mixing.We report four types of solitons as dipole solitons with distances between their bimodal peaks that can be laid out in different stripes.We study three cases of these solitons:spaced three stripes apart,one stripe apart,and confined to the same stripe.For the case of three stripes apart,all four types have stable results,but for the case of one stripe apart,stable solutions can only be found atω_(1)=ω_(2),and for the condition of dipole solitons confined to one stripe,stable solutions exist only for Type1 and Type3 atω_(1)=ω_(2).The stability of the soliton solution is solved and verified using the imaginary time propagation method and real-time transfer propagation,and soliton solutions are shown to exist in the multistability case.In addition,the relations of the transportation characteristics of the dipole soliton and the modulation parameters are numerically investigated.Finally,possible approaches for the experimental realization of the solitons are outlined.

In order to improve the problems that the minimum hamming weight(MHW) of the polar codes of the traditional Gaussian approximation(GA) construction is small and its performance is not good enough, an improved channel construction algorithm of polar codes based on frozen bits is proposed by combining the construction of the Reed-Muller(RM) code to effectively increase the MHW and analyzing the correcting and checking functions of the frozen bits in the successive cancellation list(SCL) decoding.

Aqueous electrochromic battery（ECB） has shown intense potential for achieving energy storage and saving simultaneously.While tungsten oxide（WO3） is the most promising EC material for commercialization,the cycling stability of WO3-based aqueous ECBs is currently unsatisfactory due to the repeated phase transition during the redox process and the corrosion by acidic electrolytes.Herein,we present a titanium-tungsten oxide alloy（Ti-WO3） with controllable morphology and crystal phase synthesized by a facile hot injection method to overcome the challenges.In contrast to conventional monoclinic WO3,the Ti-WO3nanorods can stably maintain their cubic crystal phase during the redox reaction in an acidic electrolyte,thus leading to dramatically enhanced response speed and cycling stability,Specifically,when working in a well-matched hybrid Al3+/Zn2+aqueous electrolyte,our phasetransition-free cubic Ti-WO3exhibits an ultra-high cycling stability（>20000 cycles）,fast response speed（3,95 s/4,65 s for bleaching/coloring）,as well as excellent discharge areal capacity of 214.5 mA h m-2,We further fabricate a fully complementa ry aqueous electrochromic device,for the first time,using a Ti-WO3/Prussian blue device architecture.Remarkably,the complementary ECB shows>10000 stable operation cycles,attesting to the feasibility of our Ti-WO3for practical applications.Our work validates the significance of inhibiting the phase transitions of WO3during the electrochromic process for realizing highly cyclable aqueous ECB,which can possibly provide a generalized design guidance for other high-quality metallic oxides for electrochemical applications.
