Characterization of size-resolved aerosol hygroscopicity and liquid water content in nanjing of the Yangtze River Delta

Aerosol hygroscopicity and liquid water content(ALWC)have important influences on the environmental and climate effect of *** this study,we measured the hygroscopic growth factors(GF)of particles with dry diameters of 40,80,150,and 200 nm during the wintertime in *** the GF-derived hygroscopicity parameter(κ_(gf))and ALWC increased with particle size,but displayed differing diurnal variations,withκ_(gf)peaking around the midday,while ALWC peaking in the early ***,ammonium and oxygenated organic aerosols(OOA)were found as the chemical components mostly strongly correlated with ALWC.A closure study suggests that during midday photo-oxidation and nighttime high ALWC periods,theκof organic aerosols(κ_(org))was underestimated when using previous ***,we re-constructed parameterizations forκ_(org)and the oxidation level of organics for these periods,which indicates a higher hygroscopicity of photochemically formed OOA than the aqueous OOA,yet both being much higher than the generally assumed OOA ***,in a typical high ALWC episode,concurrently increased ALWC,nitrate,OOA as well as aerosol surface area and mass concentrations were observed under elevated ambient *** strongly indicates a coupled effect that the hygroscopic secondary aerosols,in particular nitratewith strong hygroscopicity,led to large increase in ALWC,which in turn synergistically boosted nitrate and OOA formation by heterogeneous/aqueous *** interaction may represent an important mechanism contributing to enhanced formation of secondary aerosols and rapid growth of fine particulate matter under relatively high RH conditions.

Classification of quantum phases is one of the most important areas of research in condensed matter *** this work,we obtain the phase diagram of one-dimensional quasiperiodic models via unsupervised ***,we choose two advanced unsupervised learning algorithms,namely,density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise(DBSCAN)and ordering points to identify the clustering structure(OPTICS),to explore the distinct phases of the Aubry–André–Harper model and the quasiperiodic p-wave *** unsupervised learning results match well with those obtained through traditional numerical ***,we assess similarity across different algorithms and find that the highest degree of similarity between the results of unsupervised learning algorithms and those of traditional algorithms exceeds 98%.Our work sheds light on applications of unsupervised learning for phase classification.

On Resilience Against Cyber-Physical Uncertainties in Distributed Nash Equilibrium Seeking Strategies for Heterogeneous Games

This paper designs distributed Nash equilibrium seeking strategies for heterogeneous dynamic cyber-physical *** particular, we are concerned with parametric uncertainties in the control channel of the players. Moreover, the weights on communication links can be compromised by time-varying uncertainties, which can result from possibly malicious attacks,faults and disturbances. To deal with the unavailability of measurement of optimization errors, an output observer is constructed,based on which adaptive laws are designed to compensate for physical uncertainties. With adaptive laws, a new distributed Nash equilibrium seeking strategy is designed by further integrating consensus protocols and gradient search ***, to further accommodate compromised communication weights resulting from cyber-uncertainties, the coupling strengths of the consensus module are designed to be adaptive. As a byproduct, the coupling strengths are independent of any global information. With theoretical investigations, it is proven that the proposed strategies are resilient to these uncertainties and players' actions are convergent to the Nash equilibrium. Simulation examples are given to numerically validate the effectiveness of the proposed strategies.

One-dimensional wave theory analysis of factors and characteristics influencing errors in two-wave method data processing in SHPB

A simplified calculation of the specimen’s stress-strain curve is generally conducted using the two-wave method by the split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB),which aligns the onset of the transmitted and reflected ***,this approach neglects the travel time of elastic waves within the *** the travel time of elastic waves,this study quantitatively investigates the error characteristics and patterns of stress,strain,and strain rate in the specimen under different conditions using the theoretical two-wave method,and compares the results with those obtained using the onset-aligned twowave *** study reveals that the stress-time curves derived from the theoretical two-wave method are lower than the actual stress curves,whereas those obtained from the onset-aligned two-wave method are consistently higher than the actual stress curves,with the stress deviation approximating a constant value when the dimensionless time exceeds *** starting point of the stress-strain curves obtained by the theoretical two-wave method is not zero but a point on the strain axis,whereas the onset-aligned two-wave method always starts at ***,the slopes of the stress-strain curves obtained by both methods differ from the actual Young’s modulus of the material,and functional relationships between the slopes and the actual Young’s modulus are *** research offers theoretical guidance for the refined design of SHPB experiments and the accurate processing of data.

Processing,microstructure,and mechanical properties of wire arc additively-manufactured AZ91 magnesium alloy using cold arc process

Thin walls of an AZ91 magnesium alloy with fine equiaxed grains were fabricated via cold arc-based wire arc additive manufacturing(CA-WAAM),and the droplet transfer behaviours,microstructures,and mechanical properties were *** results showed that the cold arc process reduced splashing at the moment of liquid bridge breakage and effectively shortened the droplet transfer *** microstructures of the deposited samples exhibited layered characteristics with alternating distributions of coarse and fine *** layer-by-layer deposition,the β-phase precipitated and grew preferentially along grain boundaries,while the fineη-Al_(8)Mn_(5)phase was dispersed in the α-Mg *** mechanical properties of the CA-WAAM deposited sample showed isotropic *** ultimate tensile strength and elongation in the building direction(BD)were 282.7 MPa and 14.2%,*** microhardness values of the deposited parts were relatively uniform,with an average value of HV 69.6.

Steady-state and transient investigation of a small pressurized water reactor ACPR50S for different ATFs based on Bamboo-C code

Small modular reactors have received widespread attention owing to their inherent safety,low investment,and *** pressurized water reactors(SPWRs)have become important candidates for SMRs owing to their high technological *** the Fukushima accident,research on accident-tolerant fuels(ATFs),which are more resistant to serious accidents than conventional fuels,has gradually *** study analyzes the neutronics and thermal hydraulics of an SPWR(ACPR50S)for different ATFs,BeO+UO_(2)−SiC,BeO+UO_(2)−FeCrAl,U_(3)Si_(2)−SiC,and U_(3)Si_(2)−FeCrAl,based on a PWR fuel management code,the Bamboo-C deterministic *** the steady state,the burnup calculations,reactivity coefficients,power and temperature distributions,and control rod reactivity worth were *** transients of the control rod ejection accident for the two control rods with the maximum and minimum reactivity worth were *** results showed that 5%B-10 enrichment in the wet annular burnable absorbers assembly can effectively reduce the initial reactivity and end-of-life reactivity *** BeO+UO2−SiC core exhibited superior neutronic characteristics in terms of burnup and negative temperature reactivity compared with the other three cases owing to the strong moderation ability of BeO+UO_(2)and low neutron absorption of ***,the U_(3)Si_(2)core had a marginally better power-flattening effect than BeO+UO_(2),and the differential worth of each control rod group was similar between different *** the transient of a control rod ejection,the changes in the fuel temperature,coolant temperature,and coolant density were *** maximum difference was less than 10℃ for the fuel temperature and 2℃ for the coolant temperature.

Experimental investigation on the anti-detonation performance of composite structure containing foam geopolymer backfill material

The compression and energy absorption properties of foam geopolymers increase stress wave attenuation under explosion impacts,reducing the vibration effect on the *** tests were conducted using several composite structure models,including a concrete lining structure(CLS)without foam geopolymer and six foam geopolymer composite structures(FGCS)with different backfill parameters,to study the dynamic response and wave dissipation mechanisms of FGCS under explosive ***,strain,and vibration responses at different locations were synchronously *** damage modes and dynamic responses of different models were compared,and how wave elimination and energy absorption efficiencies were affected by foam geopolymer backfill parameters was *** results showed that the foam geopolymer absorbed and dissipated the impact energy through continuous compressive deformation under high strain rates and dynamic loading,reducing the strain in the liner structure by 52%and increasing the pressure attenuation rate by 28%.Additionally,the foam geopolymer backfill reduced structural vibration and liner deformation,with the FGCS structure showing 35%less displacement and 70%less acceleration compared to the *** FGCS model with thicker,less dense foam geopolymer backfill,having more pores and higher porosity,demonstrated better compression and energy absorption under dynamic impact,increasing stress wave attenuation *** analyzing the stress wave propagation and the compression characteristics of the porous medium,it was concluded that the stress transfer ratio of FGCS-ρ-579 was 77%lower than that of CLS,and the transmitted wave energy was 90%*** results of this study provide a scientific basis for optimizing underground composite structure interlayer parameters.
