Phenotype-Directed DNA Nanomachine for in Situ Analysis of Stem Cell-like Subpopulation in Breast Cancer

The cancer stem cell hypothesis provides a basis for prediction of the recurrence and risk of metastasis in breast ***,the unique expression pattern of stemness markers and the presence of nonstem-like cancer cells with varied phenotypes have brought great challenges to the characterization of breast cancer stem *** address these challenges,a phenotype-directed DNA nanomachine has been designed for high-accuracy labeling and in situ analysis of the stem cell-like subpopulation in breast *** key for the design is to use cell surfaceanchored inputs to activate the nanomachine,which undergoes different branch migration pathways such that the signal strand can only be brought onto the cancer cells having the stem cell-like *** sensitive determination and single-step isolation of the stem cell-like subpopulation were achieved by incorporating functional groups into the signal strand such that the nanomachine was successfully applied in a tumor-bearing mouse ***,the approach provides for a substantial improvement in capability for the analysis of the breast cancer stem cell-like subpopulation,and it is expected that the new approach will advance the use of DNA nanomachines in cancer-related studies.

Alloying-type metal sulfides with high sodiation activity and theoretical capacity are promising anode materials for high energy density sodium ion ***,the large volume change and the migratory and aggregation behavior of metal atoms will cause severe capacity decay during the charge/discharge ***,a robust and conductive TiS_(2)framework is integrated with a high-capacity SbS layer to construct a single phase(SbS)_(1.15)TiS_(2)superlattice for both high-capacity and fast Na^(+)*** metallic TiS_(2)sublayer with high electron activity acts as a robust and conductive skeleton to buffer the volume expansion caused by conversion and alloying reaction between Na+and SbS ***,high capacity and high rate capability can be synergistically realized in a single phase(SbS)_(1.15)TiS_(2)*** novel(SbS)_(1.15)TiS_(2)anode has a high charge capacity of 618 mAh g^(-1)at 0.2 C and superior rate performance and cycling stability(205 mAh g^(-1)at 35 C after 2,000 cycles).Furthermore,in situ and ex situ characterizations are applied to get an insight into the multi-step reaction *** integrity of robust Na-Ti-S skeleton during(dis)charge process can be *** superlattice construction idea to integrate the Na^(+)-active unit and electron-active unit would provide a new avenue for exploring high-performance anode materials for advanced sodium-ion batteries.

Phytic acid(PA)in grain seeds reduces the bioavailability of nutrient elements in monogastric animals,and an important objective for crop seed biofortification is to decrease the seed PA ***,we employed CRISPR/Cas9 to generate a PA mutant population targeting PA biosynthesis and transport genes,including two multi-drug-resistant protein 5(MRP5)and three inositol pentose-phosphate kinases(IPK1).We characterized a variety of lines containing mutations on multiple IPK and MRP5 *** seed PA was more significantly decreased in higher-order mutant lines with multiplex ***,such mutants also exhibited poor agronomic *** the population,we identified two lines carrying single mutations in ipk1b and ipk1c,*** mutants exhibited moderately reduced PA content,and regular agronomic performance compared to the wild *** study indicates that moderately decreasing PA by targeting single GmIPK1 genes,rather than multiplex mutagenesis toward ultra-low PA,is an optimal strategy for low-PA soybean with a minimal trade-off in yield performance.

In this paper, the flocking behavior of a Cucker-Smale model with a leader and noise is studied in a finite time. The authors present a Cucker-Smale system with two nonlinear controls for a complex network with stochastic synchronization in probability. Based on the finite-time stability theory of stochastic differential equations, the sufficient conditions for the flocking of stochastic systems in a finite time are obtained by using the Lyapunov function method. Finally, the numerical simulation of the particle system is carried out for the leader and noise, and the correctness of the results is verified.

High selectivity toward alkenes in oxidative dehydrogenation(ODH)of light alkanes makes boron-based materials promising ***,many key mechanistic aspects are still debated due to the challenge of capturing fleeting reaction *** analysis,including determining reaction orders and activation energy,could be informative for reactions involving radical intermediates but has not been extensively *** Review summarizes the current understanding of the apparent alkane reaction order and the apparent activation energy in the boron-catalyzed *** varying compositions and structures,a majority of boron-based catalysts share many common features,induding alkene selectivity,the evolution and the formation of active site,and the apparent kinetic *** common trends could be attributed to the shared gas-phase radical mediated reaction pathways and the formation of active hydroxylated boron oxide species on boron-containing materials under ODH *** of apparent alkane reaction orders and apparent activation energies are sensitive and reliable experimental measures of the contributions of the gas-phase radical-mediated and surface mediated pathways,suggesting the outline of a general mechanistic framework of the boron-catalyzed ODH.

Polyampholyte gels,which have hierarchical structures,exhibit excellent self-healing properties and have great promise for biomaterials and *** investigated the relationship between microscopic structures and macroscopic viscoelastic properties of polyampholyte gels and found three factors influencing their viscoelastic properties,including the chemical crosslinking bonds,topological entanglements controlled by monomer concentration,and the ionic *** strength plays a major role on the strength of ionic bonds.A crossover point of elastic modulus and loss modulus was observed in the dynamic frequency sweeps at low monomer concentration or low chemical crosslinking density for gels with intermediate strength of ionic *** solid-liquid transition signaled by the crossover point is a typical feature of dynamic associated gels,representing the dynamical association-dissociation of the ionic bonds and full relaxation of the topological entanglements in the gel *** the crossover point disappears when the ionic bonds are too weak or too strong to form“permanent”***,in the non-linear yielding measurement,gels with intermediate strength of the ionic bonds are ductile and yield at very large shear strain due to the self-healing properties and the dynamic association-dissociation of the ionic *** the self-healing properties disappear when the ionic bond strength is too weak or too *** work reveals the mechanism of how the dynamic association-dissociation of ionic bonds influences both the linear and non-linear viscoelastic properties of the polyampholyte gels.

The instability of plasma waves in the channel of field-effect transistors will cause the electromagnetic waves with THz *** on a self-consistent quantum hydrodynamic model,the instability of THz plasmas waves in the channel of graphene field-effect transistors has been investigated with external magnetic field and quantum *** analyzed the influence of weak magnetic fields,quantum effects,device size,and temperature on the instability of plasma waves under asymmetric boundary conditions *** results show that the magnetic fields,quantum effects,and the thickness of the dielectric layer between the gate and the channel can increase the radiation ***,we observed that increase in temperature leads to a decrease in both oscillation frequency and instability *** numerical results and accompanying images obtained from our simulations provide support for the above conclusions.

Converting CO_(2) into value-added chemicals and fuels through various catalytic methods to lower the atmospheric CO_(2) concentration has been developed to be a crucial means to alleviate the energy shortage and ameliorate the ever-fragile environment status. However, the complexity of the CO_(2) conversion reaction and the strong reduction conditions lead to the inevitable structural evolution, making it difficult for the prior design of suitable catalytic materials. Herein, to guide the rational design of efficient catalysts,we will be centered on the thermal, electro, and photo-induced structural evolution and active species identification during the CO_(2) conversion, including the in situ/operando characterization techniques monitoring the activation, steady, and deactivation stage of the catalysts as well as the inherent restructuring mechanism towards active species. Besides, the future challenges and opportunities on the merits of combining the structural evolution with the adsorbed intermediates recognized by ultra-fast spectroscopic techniques, simultaneously, the combination of theoretical simulation and the results of in situ experiments will also be addressed. This review can not only guide the identification of real active species, but also provide an approach to design the specific active species towards CO_(2) conversion, rather than only focusing on activity, for the purpose of practical industrial application.
