Strong nonlinear optical processes with extraordinary polarization anisotropy in inversionsymmetry broken two-dimensional PdPSe

Nonlinear optical activities,especially second harmonic generation(SHG),are key phenomena in inversion-symmetrybroken two-dimensional(2D)transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDcs).On the other hand,anisotropic nonlinear optical processes are important for unique applications in nano-nonlinear photonic devices with polarization functions,having become one of focused research topics in the field of nonlinear ***,the strong nonlinearity and strong optical anisotropy do not exist simultaneously in common 2D ***,we demonstrate strong secondorder and third-order susceptibilities of 64 pm/v and 6.2×10^(-19)m^(2)/v^(2),respectively,in the even-layer PdPSe,which has not been discovered in other common TMDcs(e.g.,MoS2).Strikingly,it also simultaneously exhibited strong SHG anisotropy with an anisotropic ratio of~45,which is the largest reported among all 2D materials to date,to the best of our *** addition,the SHG anisotropy ratio can be harnessed from 0.12 to 45(375 times)by varying the excitation wavelength due to the dispersion ofχ^(2)*** an illustrative example,we further demonstrate polarized SHG imaging for potential applications in crystal orientation identification and polarization-dependent spatial *** findings in 2D PdPSe are promising for nonlinear nanophotonic and optoelectronic applications.

Multi-color light curves and orbital period research of eclipsing binary v1073 cyg

New multi-color BvrcIc photometric observations are presented for the W UMa type eclips- ing binary v1073 cyg. The multi-color light curve analysis with the Wilson-Devinney procedure yielded the absolute parameters of this system, showing that v 1073 cyg is a shallow contact binary system with a fill-out factor f = 0.124（±0.011）. We collected all available times of light minima spanning 119yr, including ccD data to construct the O - c curve, and performed detailed O - c analysis. The O - c diagram shows that the period change is complex. A long-term continuous decrease and a cyclic vari- ation exist. The period is decreasing at a rate ofP = -1.04（±0.18） × 10-10 d cycle-land, with the period decrease, v1073 cyg will evolve to the deep contact stage. The cyclic variation with a period of P3 = 82.7（±3.6） yr and an amplitude of A = 0.028（±0.002） d may be explained by magnetic activ- ity of one or both components or the light travel time effect caused by a distant third companion with M3（i1 = 90°） = 0.511 M⊙.

Glass catfish(Kryptopterus vitreolus)are notable in the aquarium trade for their highly transparent body *** transparency is due to the loss of most reflective iridophores and light-absorbing melanophores in the main body,although certain black and silver pigments remain in the face and *** date,however,the molecular mechanisms underlying this transparent phenotype remain largely *** explore the genetic basis of this transparency,we constructed a chromosome-level haplotypic genome assembly for the glass catfish,encompassing 32 chromosomes and 23344 protein-coding genes,using PacBio and Hi-c sequencing technologies and standard assembly and annotation *** revealed a premature stop codon in the putative albinism-related tyrp1b gene,encoding tyrosinase-related protein 1,rendering it a nonfunctional ***,a synteny comparison with over 30 other fish species identified the loss of the endothelin-3(edn3b)gene in the glass catfish *** investigate the role of edn3b,we generated edn3b^(−/−)mutant zebrafish,which exhibited a remarkable reduction in black pigments in body surface stripes compared to wild-type *** findings indicate that edn3b loss contributes to the transparent phenotype of the glass *** high-quality chromosome-scale genome assembly and identification of key genes provide important molecular insights into the transparent phenotype of glass *** findings not only enhance our understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying transparency in glass catfish,but also offer a valuable genetic resource for further research on pigmentation in various animal species.

This paper investigates a multi-component repairable system with double threshold control *** system is composed of n identical and independent components which operate simultaneously at the beginning,and it is down when the number of operating components decreases to k−1(k≤n).When the number of failed components is less than the value L,the repairman repairs them with a low repair *** high repair rate is activated as soon as L failed components present,and continues until the number of failed components drops to the value N−*** the matrix analytical method,the Laplace transform technique and the properties of the phase type distribution,various performance measures including the availability,the rate of occurrence of failures,and the reliability are derived in transient and stationary ***,numerical examples are reported to show the behaviour of the system.

The Boer goat is one of the top meat breeds in modern animal husbandry and has attracted widespread attention for its unique growth ***,the genetic basis of muscle development in the Boer goat remains *** this study,we identified specific structural variants in the Boer goat based on genome-wide selection signals and analyzed the basis of the molecular heredity of related candidate genes in muscle development.A total of9 959 autosomal copy number variations(cNvs) were identified through selection signal analysis in 127 goat ***,we confirmed that the highest signal cNv(HSv) was a chromosomal arrangement containing an approximately 1.11 Mb(cHIr17:60062304-61171840 bp) duplicated fragment inserted in reverse orientation and a 5 362 bp deleted region(cHIr17:60145940-60151302 bp) with overlapping genes(e.g.,ArHGAP10,Nr3c2,EDNrA,PrMT9,and TMEM184c).The homozygous duplicated HSv genotype(+/+) was found in 96% of Boer goats but was not detected in Eurasian goats and was only detected in 4% of indigenous African *** expression network of three candidate genes(ArHGAP10,Nr3c2,and EDNrA)regulating dose transcription was constructed by rNA *** indicated that these genes were involved in the proliferation and differentiation of skeletal muscle satellite cells(SMScs) and their overexpression significantly increased the expression of *** HSv of the Boer goat contributed to superior skeletal muscle growth via the dose effects of overlapping genes.

Battery materials as emerging capacitive deionization electrodes for desalination have better salt removal capacities than traditional carbon-based ***_(2)O_(4),a widely used cathode mate-rial,is difficult to utilize as a deionization electrode due to its structural instability upon cycling and Mn dissolution in aqueous-based ***,a facile and low-cost ball-milling routine was proposed to prepare a LiMn_(2)O_(4)material with highly exposed(111)*** prepared electrode exhibited relatively low dissolution of Mn during cycling,which shows its long cycle *** the hybrid capacitive deionization system,the LiMn_(2)O_(4)/c electrode delivered a high desalination capacity of 117.3 mg g^(−1) without obvious capacity decay at a voltage of 1.0 v with a 20 mM initial salt *** addition,the exposed(111)facets significantly alleviated Mn ion dissolution,which also enhanced the structural steadiness.

vesicle, a microscopic unit that encloses a volume with an ultrathin wall, is ubiquitous in ***, it remains a huge challenge to create its inorganic metal-based artificial counterparts. Here,inspired by the formation of biological vesicles, we proposed a novel biomimetic strategy of curling the ultrathin nanosheets into nanovesicles, which was driven by the interfacial strain. Trapped by the interfacial strain between the initially formed substrate rh layer and subsequently formed rhru overlayer, the nanosheet begins to deform in order to release a certain amount of strain. Density functional theory（DFT）calculations reveal that the ru atoms make the curling of nanosheets more favorable in thermodynamics applications. Owing to the unique vesicular structure, the rhru nanovesicles/c displays excellent hydrogen oxidation reaction（HOr） activity and stability, which has been proven by both experiments and DFT calculations. Specifically, the HOr mass activity of rhru nanovesicles/c are 7.52 A mg（rh+ru）-1at an overpotential of 50 m v at the rotating disk electrode（rDE） level; this is 24.19 times that of commercial Pt/c(0.31 m A mgPt-1). Moreover, the hydroxide exchange membrane fuel cell（HEMFc） with rhru nanovesicles/c displays a peak power density of 1.62 W cm-2in the H2-O2condition, much better than that of commercial Pt/c(1.18 W cm-2). This work creates a new biomimetic strategy to synthesize inorganic nanomaterials, paving a pathway for designing catalytic reactors.

Inhibitory immune receptors set thresholds for immune cell activation,and their deficiency predisposes a person to autoimmune ***,the agonists of inhibitory immune receptors remain largely unknown,representing untapped sources of treatments for autoimmune ***,we show that v-set and transmembrane domain-containing 1(vSTM1)is an inhibitory receptor and that its binding by the competent ligand soluble galectin-1(Gal1)is essential for maintaining neutrophil viability mediated by downregulated reactive oxygen species ***,in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE),circulating Gal1 is oxidized and cannot be recognized by vSTM1,leading to increased intracellular reactive oxygen species levels and reduced neutrophil *** neutrophil function or death contributes significantly to the pathogenesis of SLE by providing danger molecules and autoantigens that drive the production of inflammatory cytokines and the activation of autoreactive ***,serum levels of glutathione,an antioxidant able to convert oxidized Gal1 to its reduced form,were negatively correlated with SLE disease *** together,our findings reveal failed inhibitory Gal1/vSTM1 pathway activation in patients with SLE and provide important insights for the development of effective targeted therapies.

New quaternary sequences of even length with optimal auto-correlation

Sequences with low auto-correlation property have been applied in code-division multiple access communication systems, radar and cryptography. Using the inverse Gray mapping, a quaternary sequence of even length N can be obtained from two binary sequences of the same length, which are called component sequences. In this paper, using interleaving method, we present several classes of component sequences from twin-prime sequences pairs or GMW sequences pairs given by Tang and Ding in 2010; or two, three or four binary sequences defined by cyclotomic classes of order 4. Hence we can obtain new classes of quaternary sequences, which are different from known ones, since known component sequences are constructed from a pair of binary sequences with optimal auto-correlation or Sidel’nikov sequences.
