Low-temperature chlorination roasting technology for the simultaneous recovery of valuable metals from spent LiCoO_(2)cathode material

With the continuous increase in the disposal volume of spent lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),properly recycling spent LIBs has become essential for the advancement of the circular *** study presents a systematic analysis of the chlorination roasting kinetics and proposes a new two-step chlorination roasting process that integrates thermodynamics for the recycling of LIB cathode *** activation energy for the chloride reaction was 88.41 kJ/mol according to thermogravimetric analysis–derivative thermogravimetry data obtained by using model-free,model-fitting,and Z(α)function(αis conversion rate).Results indicated that the reaction was dominated by the first-order(F1)model when the conversion rate was less than or equal to 0.5 and shifted to the second-order(F2)model when the conversion rate exceeded *** conditions were determined by thoroughly investigating the effects of roasting temperature,roasting time,and the mass ratio of NH_(4)Cl to LiCoO_(2).Under the optimal conditions,namely 400℃,20 min,and NH_(4)Cl/LiCoO_(2)mass ratio of 3:1,the leaching efficiency of Li and Co reached 99.43% and 99.05%,*** of the roasted products revealed that valuable metals in LiCoO_(2)transformed into CoCl_(2) and ***,the reaction mechanism was elucidated,providing insights for the establishment of a novel low-temperature chlorination roasting technology based on a crystal structure *** technology can guide the development of LIB recycling processes with low energy consumption,low secondary pollution,high recovery efficiency,and high added value.

Reduction mechanism of high-chromium vanadium–titanium magnetite pellets by H_2–CO–CO_2 gas mixtures

The reduction of high-chromium vanadium–titanium magnetite as a typical titanomagnetite containing 0.95wt% V2O5 and 0.61wt% Cr2O3 by H2–CO–CO2 gas mixtures was investigated from 1223 to 1373 K. Both the reduction degree and reduction rate increase with increasing temperature and increasing hydrogen content. At a temperature of 1373 K, an H2/CO ratio of 5/2 by volume, and a reduction time of 40 min, the degree of reduction reaches 95%. The phase transformation during reduction is hypothesized to proceed as follows： Fe2O3 → Fe3O4 → FeO → Fe; Fe9 TiO 15 ＋ Fe2Ti3O9 → Fe2.75Ti0.25O4 → FeT iO 3 → TiO 2;（Cr0.15V0.85）2O3 → Fe2VO4; and Cr1.3Fe0.7O3 → FeC r2O4. The reduction is controlled by the mixed internal diffusion and interfacial reaction at the initial stage; however, the interfacial reaction is dominant. As the reduction proceeds, the internal diffusion becomes the controlling step.

Optimized use of MgO flux in the agglomeration of high-chromium vanadium–titanium magnetite

The optimized use of MgO flux in the agglomeration of high-chromium vanadium-titanium magnetite was investigated system- atically through sinter and pellet experiments. MgO was added in the form of magnesite. When the content of MgO in the sinter was in- creased from 1.95wt% to 2.63wt%, the low-temperature reduction degradation index increased from 80.57% to 82.71%. When the content of MgO in the pellet was increased from 1.14wt% to 2.40wt%, the reduction swelling index decreased from 15.2% to 8.6%; however, the com- pressive strength of the oxidized pellet decreased dramatically and it was 1985 N with an MgO content of 1.14wt%. This compressive strength does not satisfy the requirements for blast-furnace production. When all of the aforementioned results were taken into account, the sinter with a high MgO content （2.63wt%） matching the pellet with a low MgO content （less than 1.14wt%） was the rational burden structure for smelting high-chromium vanadium-titanium magnetite in blast furnaces.

Mechanical properties of UHMWPE/Sm_2O_3 composite shielding material

UHMWPE have good effect to slow down fast neutrons and Sm2O3 can absorb the thermal neutrons.A new style UHMWPE/ Sm2O3 composite shielding material was manufractured by hot-press moulding *** microstructure and mechanical properties were characterized by IR and *** results indicate that Sm2O3 distributed continuously,evenly in UHMWPE,and the interface was combined *** of UHMWPE/Sm2O3 composites increased at first and decreased and tensile strength decreased with the increasing of Sm2O3 mass fraction.

Preparation and Characterization of Graphite Powder Covered with CeO_2

In order to improve the wetting properties of graphite with Al melt and reduce the oxidation of the graphite, by which the segregation of components during the liquid-stir-casting process could be prevented. In this paper, a uniform thin nano-film of CeO2, about 20 nm thick, was successfully prepared onto graphite powder surface by heterogeneous nu-cleation process. The results show that an obvious chemical reaction did exit between CeO2 film and graphite with the formation of Ce-O-C bond, leading to a shift of the binding energy of C and Ce. The cover with CeO2 film illustrates a distinct change of surface state of graphite with a decrease of angle of contact.

Modeling of flow and temperature distribution in electroslag remelting withdrawal process for fabricating large-scale slab ingots

Currently, the market demands for large-scale and high-quality slab ingots are increasing significantly. A novel electroslag remelting withdrawal （ESRW） process with two series-connected electrodes and a T- shaped mould was developed to produce large-scale and high-quality slab ingots. It is very difficult to ob- tain large slab ingots with good surface quality and high width-to-thickness ratio. And it is not efficient for improving the quality of slab ingots by using trial-and-error-based approaches because the ESRW mecha- nisms are very complex. Thus, a three-dimensional mathematical model was developed to determine the relationship between process parameters and physical phenomena during the ESRW process. The relation- ship between the temperature field of the ESRW process and the surface quality of slab ingots was estab- lished. A good agreement between the simulated and measured temperature fields of slab ingots was ob- tained. The results indicate that the maximum values of current density, electromagnetic force and Joule heat all occur at the electrode-slag interface between the two electrodes. It can be found that the flow is turbulent and the temperature distribution is uniform in the slag pool with the influences of buoyancy and electromagnetic force. The wrinkles in the narrow faces of slab ingots are caused by the relatively lower in- put power. Increasing the electrode width and reducing the curvature can significantly improve the surface quality of slab ingots.

High Temperature Chemical Reaction of La_2O_3 in H_3BO_3-C System

The high temperature chemical reaction process of La2O3 in H3BO3-C system was studied by means of XRD and *** results showed that dehydration reaction of H3BO3 occurred in the temperature range of 82～390 ℃;La2O3 and B2O3 reacted to form LaB3O6,LaBO3,and B4C in the temperature range of 836～1400℃;at 1450 ℃,B4C and LaBO3 further reacted to form LaB4,and partial LaB4 and B reacted to form LaB6;at 1500 ℃,LaB4 and B reacting into LaB6 was the main reaction,and the content of LaB6 increased with prolonging time.

SYNTHESIZING KINETICS AND MICRO-CHARACTERIZATION OF SPINEL LiMn_(2)O_(4) FOR LITHIUM-ION BATTERY CATHODE material

The reaction process during synthesis of LiMn2O4 with LiOH·H2O and MnO2 was studied by means of DTA in dynamical air atmosphere, and it could be applied as an important theoretical principle for preparing LiMn2O4. The active energies of four reaction processes were obtained with Doyle-Ozawa method and Kissinger method as follows: 66.299, 72.640, 128.11 and 113.876 kJ·mol-1, respectively. Reaction orders, frequency factors and kinetic equations of each reaction were determined by Kissinger method. XRD, SEM and TEM show that the synthesized LiMn2O4 is a pure phase, with regular appearance and higher ratio-surface.

Interfacial Characterization and Mechanical Property of Ti/Cu Clad Sheet Produced by Explosive Welding and Annealing

It was aim to investigate the interfacial microstructure and shear performance of Ti/Cu clad sheet produced by explosive welding and annealing. The experimental results demonstrate that the alternate distribution of interfacial collision and vortex of flyer layer forms in the interface a few of solidification structure. TEM confirms that the interfacial interlayer contains obvious lattice distortion structure and intermetallic compounds. It interprets the explosive welding as the interfacial deformation and thermal diffusion process between dissimilar metals. The interfacial shear strength is very close to the Cu matrix strength, which is determined by the mixture of the mechanical bonding and metallurgical bonding. Several cracks exist on the shear fracture owing to the intermetallic compound in the interfacial solidifi cation structure and also the probable welding inclusion.

Optimization of BF Slag for High Cr_2O_3 Vanadium-titanium Magnetite

In order to clarify the slag system of high Cr2O3 vanadium-titanium magnetite smelting in BF （blast furnace）, the melting properties of slag samples prepared by analytically pure reagents were measured. By means of orthogonal test synthetic weighted score method, the optimal slag for high Cr2O3 vanadium-titanium magnetite was obtained, which contained 10% MgO, 8% TiO2 and 15% Al2O3, with the binary basicity being 1.15. In addition, the effects of basicity, MgO, TiO2 and A12 03 on slag melting properties were investigated by single factor test, and the results showed that, with increasing the basicity or TiO2 content, melting temperature （Tin） increased, whereas initial vis- cosity （r/0） and high temperature viscosity （r/h） decreased. With increasing the MgO content, Tm decreased firstly and then increased. With increasing the Al2 O3 content, Tm increased, and η0 and r/h decreased firstly and then increased.
