In the age of artificial intelligence,firms'internal data are increasingly valuable when merged with each other for inter-firm analysis and ***,the inter-firm data transactions represent a novel challenge on pricing due to the complex nature of data,such as quality information asymmetry,lack of pricing standards,and the negligible marginal *** paper conducts a case study at shanghai Data exchange to explore the factors that can facilitate the data transactions between buyers and *** use interview transcripts from 18 participating firms to construct our three theoretical dimensions:increasing the perceived value,mitigating the cost,and improving the market *** then browse through 18 factors to assess their value for further *** managerial implications are also discussed.

On January 6, 2003, CITIC Securities Co., Ltd. （CITICS hereafter） issued A-shares in the shanghai Stock exchange to become the first public listed securities company through IPO in China. CITICS＇s net capital rose to about 5 billion yuan, much higher than any other competitor. This teaching case aims to demonstrate how a company gains first-mover advantage as being the first company to go public in an industry, how its competitors respond by changing their strategies after the IPO, and consequently, how a series of relevant events influence the competition. This case offers important implications for understanding the competitive dynamics of a securities company in China.

We examine what determines a firm＇s decision to disclose a self-assessment report on its internal control （IC） system and to further attain an auditor＇s attestation on the report, using a sample of firms from the shanghai Stock exchange during the period 2006-2010. We hypothesize and find supporting evidence that the likelihood of having voluntary disclosure of IC self-assessment with an auditor＇s attestation is positively related to future equity refinancing, mutuM-fund shareholding, and whether the firm is controlled by the government, especially the central government. Our study also takes the identification problem into consideration, as our sample includes firms with IC weaknesses/deficiencies. Our study not only makes an incremental contribution to the literature, but also has practical implications, especially for regulators and investors in China.

Networks haven been widely used to understand the spread of infectious *** study examines the properties of small-world networks in modeling infectious disease on *** different small-world models are developed and the behaviors of infectious disease in the models are observed through numerical *** results show that the behavior pattern of infectious disease in a small-world network is different from those in a regular network or a random *** spread of the infectious disease increases as the proportion of long-distance connections p increasing,which indicates that reducing the contact among people is an effective measure to control the spread of infectious *** probability of node position exchange in a network(p2)had no significant effect on the spreading speed,which suggests that reducing human mobility in closed environments does not help control infectious ***,the spreading speed is proportional to the number of shared nodes(s),which means reducing connections between different groups and dividing students into separate sections will help to control infectious *** the end,the simulating speed of the small-world network is tested and the quadratic relationship between simulation time and the number of nodes may limit the application of the SW network in areas with large populations.

It is well known that volatility smirks and heavy-tailed asset return distri- butions are two violations of the Black-Scholes model. This paper investigates the role of jump size distribution played in explaining these two abnormalities. We consider a jump-diffusion model with Laplace jump size distribution, in comparison to the con- ventional normal distribution. In addition, our analysis is built upon a pure exchange economy, in which the representative agent＇s risk preference shows a fanning charac- teristic. We find that, when a fanning effect is present, Laplace model produces a more remarkable leptokurtic pattern of the risk-neutral distribution implied by options, as well as generating more pronounced volatility smirks than the normal model.

Using China Health and Nutrition Survey(CHNS) data between 1989 and 2011, this paper measures the returns to education in China based on the Mincer earnings function and reaches the following findings through an analysis of the tendency of continuous variations over a long timeframe: returns to education are on the rise within the range of samples both under relative and absolute scenarios; returns to different levels of education are characterized by increasing marginal return; no significant difference exists between the returns to junior middle school and the returns to primary school education. Further discussions consider that the requirements of job positions for the overall competence of personnel, differentiated decline of corporate demand for recruitment, lack of an evaluation system in the labor market, information asymmetry in the job market, the development strategy adopted in a particular stage of history and the current slow progress of economic transition have jointly led to the underemployment of college graduates and the great enthusiasm of parents investing in higher education for their children. Conclusions of this paper not only have important practical relevance to the ongoing implementation of China's innovation-driven development strategy, but offer inspirations for the new round of educational reform as well.

Using a sample of 280 firms listed on the Pakistan Stock exchange,we empirically investigate factors that determine corporate cash holdings in different periods from 2005 to *** divide the sample into three sub-periods—pre-crisis,crisis,and post-crisis—and apply a panel data model to estimate the *** results suggest that financial crises affect firms’cash holdings ***,findings show that financial crisis has influenced the relationship of size and leverage with cash *** particular,cash flow,liquidity,and tangibility are major determinants of cash holdings in the *** present important implications for corporate managers,academicians,and policymakers.

BACKGROUND Pediatric living donor liver transplantation(LDLT) has become the gold standard for patients with end-stage liver disease. With improvements in organ preservation, immunosuppression, and surgical and anesthesia techniques, the survival rates and long-term outcomes of patients after LDLT have significantly improved worldwide. However, data on anesthetic management and postoperative survival rate of pediatric LDLT in China are *** To review the status of pediatric LDLT in shanghai and investigate the factors related to anesthetic management and survival rate in pediatric *** We conducted a retrospective observational study to investigate the status of pediatric LDLT in shanghai by reviewing 544 records of patients who underwent pediatric LDLT since the first operation on October 21, 2006 until August 10, 2016 at Renji Hospital and Huashan *** The 30-d, 90-d, 1-year, and 2-year survival rates were 95.22%, 93.38%, 91.36%,and 89.34%, respectively. The 2-year patient survival rate after January 1, 2011 significantly improved compared with the previous period(74.47% vs 90.74%;hazard ratio: 2.92;95% confidence interval(CI): 2.16–14.14;P = 0.0004). Median duration of mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit(ICU) was 18 h [interquartile range(IQR), 15.25–20.25], median ICU length of stay was 6 d(IQR:4.80–9.00), and median postoperative length of stay was 24 d(IQR: 18.00–34.00).Forty-seven(8.60%) of 544 patients did not receive red blood cell transfusion during the *** Pediatric end-stage liver disease score, anesthesia duration, operation duration,intraoperative blood loss, and ICU length of stay were independent predictive factors of in-hospital patient survival. Pediatric end-stage liver disease score,operation duration, and ICU length of stay were independent predictive factors of 1-year and 3-year patient survival.
