Effects of pyraclostrobin on growth,oxidative stress,and gene expression in relation to stress and ATP-binding cassette transporters in Tetrahymena thermophila

Pyraclostrobin(PYR),a widely used fungicide,has negative effects on fish and algae,but its toxicity in protozoa remains *** this study,the effects of PYR on the growth,oxidative stress,and gene expression related to stress and ATP-binding cassette(ABC)transporters in Tetrahymena thermophila were *** result showed that the 96-h IC_(50)of PYR against *** was 17.2 mg/***,PYR inhibited the growth of *** in concentration-or time-dependent manner.A morphological study revealed that the shape and size of *** changed,and damage of cell membrane surface was observed by scanning electron microscopy after 96 h of PYR *** activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD)and catalase(CAT)increased throughout the *** contrast,the glutathione(GSH)content was increased at 24 h and 48 h of exposure and decreased at 96 ***,a significant increase in malondialdehyde(MDA)level was observed in *** after96 h of ***,PYR upregulated the HSP703,HSP705,GPx2,and ABAC15 gene expression in the 0.1–5-mg/L groups and downregulated the HSP704,HSP90,TGR,and ABCC52 mRNA levels at 96 h of *** results suggest that PYR may exert adverse effects on *** by inducing oxidative stress and changing the gene expression related to ABC transporters and stress,which may enrich the understanding of the toxicity mechanism of PYR in aquatic organisms and provide reference data for aquatic ecological risk assessments.

An Etymological Note on the Term Tubo Gaoshen

Most previous studies have held that the system of Tubo gaoshen(an honorary identity mark)was an imitation of a similar system in the Tang dynasty,referring to the latter's official costume decorations for its stratified *** studies have not given due attention to the characteristics of the title *** the perspective of the change of the Tibetan name and based on existing research results and historical records in both Tibetan and Chinese,this article tries to offer a new understanding and preliminary discussion on the development of Tubo gaoshen and several related *** find that there are two paths in the evolution of its name:One is from Sugto Yi Ge or Yig,the other is from Yig tsang to Yig *** former is used to denote a concrete gaoshen and can be added as a prefix while the latter denotes the abstract idea of gaoshen and no attribute can be used before *** the two are used together,the latter is used before the former,such as in:yig tshangs pa ni zangs kyi yi ge gtong/(As to the gaoshen[yig tshangs],[he]is awarded a bronze yi ge).

Strong coupling between plasmons and multiple different exciton states(MESs)enables the creation of multiple hybrid polariton states under ambient *** hybrid states possess unique optical properties different from those of their separate identities,making them ideal candidates for exploiting room-temperature multimode hybridization and multiqubit *** this study,we revealed the static spectral response properties of plasmon-MES strong coupling via a fully quantum mechanics *** theoretical predictions were experimentally demonstrated in plasmonic nanocavities containing two and three different exciton ***,the dynamical absorption processes of such strong coupling systems were investigated,and results indicated that the damping of the hybrid polariton states induced by the strong coupling could be markedly modulated by the acoustic oscillations from the plasmonic *** findings contribute a theoretical approach for accurately describing the plasmon-MES interactions and a platform for developing the high-speed active plasmonic devices based on multiqubit strong coupling.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs)-based composites have been widely applied as photocatalysts because of their synergistic effect between the two individual ***,TiO_(2)@NH_(2)-MIL-125(Ti) nanocomposites which possess unsaturated titanium–oxo clusters,mesoporous structure,and intimate interface were successfully constructed via an in-situ distilled water-etched *** X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) measurements indicated strong electronic interaction between TiO_(2)and NH_(2)-MIL-125(Ti),confirming the formation of TiO 2@NH_(2)-MIL-125(Ti) *** and thermodynamics measurements showed that TiO_(2)@NH_(2)-MIL-125(Ti)nanocomposites have improved charge separation efficient and decreased transfer resistance of the carriers within the heterojunction interfaces,which facilitates the photoexcited electrons transfer and reduction of the Cr(VI) ***,the optimal TiO_(2)@NH_(2)-MIL-125(Ti)nanocomposite demonstrated superior performance compared to NH_(2)-MIL-125(Ti) and NH_(2)-MIL-125(Ti) derived TiO_(2).Based on the free radical trapping experiment and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) measurements,a possible type-II scheme was proposed for the enhanced photocatalytic activity over the TiO_(2)@NH_(2)-MIL-125(Ti) nanocomposite.

Observer-based Variable Universe Adaptive Fuzzy Controller Without Additional Dynamic Order

A high-precision fuzzy controller, based on a state observer, is developed for a class of nonlinear single-input-single-output(SISO) systems with system uncertainties and external disturbances. The state observer is introduced to resolve the problem of the unavailability of state variables. Assisted by the observer, a variable universe fuzzy system is designed to approximate the ideal control law. Being auxiliary components, a robust control term and a state feedback control term are designed to suppress the influence of the lumped uncertainties and remove the observation error, respectively. Different from the existing results, no additional dynamic order is required for the control design. All the adaptive laws and the control law are built based on the Lyapunov synthesis approach, and the signals involved in the closed-loop system are guaranteed to be uniformly ultimately bounded. Simulation results performed on Duffing forced oscillation demonstrate the advantages of the proposed control scheme.

Hydrogen sulfide (H_(2)S) is one of the three known gas signal transducers, and since its potential physiological role was reported, the literature on H_(2)S has been increasing. H_(2)S is involved in processes such as vasodilation, neurotransmission, angiogenesis, inflammation, and the prevention of ischemia-reperfusion injury, and its mechanism remains to be further studied. At present, the role of post-translational processing of proteins has been considered as a possible mechanism for the involvement of H_(2)S in a variety of physiological processes. Current studies have shown that H_(2)S is involved in S-sulfhydration, phosphorylation, and S-nitrosylation of proteins, etc. This paper focuses on the effects of protein modification involving H_(2)S on physiological and pathological processes, looking forward to providing guidance for subsequent research.

Biomarker Identification of Rat Liver Regeneration via Adaptive Logistic Regression

This paper is devoted to identifying the biomarkers of rat liver regeneration via the adaptive logistic regression. By combining the adaptive elastic net penalty with the logistic regression loss, the adaptive logistic regression is proposed to adaptively identify the important genes in groups. Furthermore, by improving the pathwise coordinate descent algorithm, a fast solving algorithm is developed for computing the regularized paths of the adaptive logistic regression. The results from the experiments performed on the microarray data of rat liver regeneration are provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method and verify the biological rationality of the selected biomarkers.
