In this paper,a two-way relay system which achieves bi-directional communication via a multiple-antenna relay in two time slots is *** the multiple access(MA) phase,the novel receive schemes based on Dempster-Shafer(D-S) evidence theory are proposed at the relay *** of traditional linear detection,the first proposed MIMO-DS NC scheme adopts D-S evidence theory to detect the signals of each source node before mapping them into network-coded ***,different from traditional physical-layer network coding(PNC) based on virtual MIMO model,the further proposed MIMO-DS PNC comes from the vector space perspective and combines PNC mapping with D-S theory to obtain network-coded signal without estimating each source node signal.D-S theory can appropriately characterize uncertainty and make full use of multiple evidence source information by Dempster's combination rule to obtain reliable *** the broadcast(BC) phase,the space-time coding(STC) and antenna selection(AS) schemes are adopted to achieve transmit *** results reveal that the STC and AS schemes both achieve full transmit diversity in the BC phase and the proposed MIMO-DS NC/PNC schemes obtain better end-to-end BER performance and throughputs compared with traditional schemes with a little complexity increasing and no matter which scheme is adopted in the BC phase,MIMO-DS PNC always achieves full end-to-end diversity gain as MIMO-ML NC but with a lower complexity and its throughput approaches the throughput of MIMO-ML NC in high SNR regime.

XY-Type GPU Cache: Exploiting Spatial Localities in both X and Y Directions to Avoid Conflict Miss

Cache has been introduced into many Graphics processing units(GPUs) to decrease the frequency of data transfer between high-performance computing units and low-speed long-latency external *** traditional index mapping scheme designed originally for CPU cache exploits only the spatial locality in address space. The access to graphics data always has region locality on the frame buffer: there are high spatial localities in both X and Y directions. It may generate more conflict misses on some limited cache lines, which eventually results in high cache miss ratio and a performance *** CPU cache cannot be used directly in *** propose a new conflict-avoiding GPU cache called XY-type cache with a new index mapping scheme, whose cache line indices are computed from both X and Y coordinates of pixels and the cache index distribution is consistent with the region locality on the frame buffer. Our evaluation results show that the proposed XY-type GPU cache can reduce cache miss ratio by 88% at most via scattering the cache accesses to all lines evenly, and can completely avoid the bad effect caused by frame resolution. Since the cache miss ratio in direct-mapped or 2-way set-associative structure is approximate to or even lower than that in fully-associative structure which is the best case in terms of lowering cache line conflicts, XY-type GPU cache can be designed with lower complexity and lower consumption power.

This study investigates networked control systems(NCSs), whose sensors communicate with remote controllers via a wireless fading channel. The sensor can choose different power levels at which it can transmit its measurement to the controller. The transmission power is selected according to a given probability *** level of transmission power determines the probability of packet loss. The objective of this study is to find an appropriate transmission power probability distribution and a system controller jointly such that NCSs can be exponentially stabilized within a given energy budget. By the average dwell time technique, sufficient conditions for almost sure stability and an optimal sensor power probability distribution maximizing the stability margin are obtained. The effectiveness of the results is demonstrated by numerical simulations.

In this paper, we propose a new method to realize drive-response system synchronization control and parameter identification for a class of generalized Julia sets. By means of this method, the zero asymptotic sliding variables are applied to control the fractal identification. Furthermore, the problems of synchronization control are solved in the case of a drive system with unknown parameters, and the unknown parameters of the drive system can be identified in the asymptotic synchronization process. The results of simulation examples demonstrate the effectiveness of this new method. Particularly, the basic Julia set is also discussed.

One of the key issues of noisy speech enhancement technique is to achieve appropriate statistical distributions to model the clean speech and noise signals accurately. Most of the existing algorithms try to employ a sole model assumption in transform domain, which, however, has been proven to being contrary with the fact. To address this problem, the statistical properties of clean speech as well as several noise signals are analyzed using actual data in Discrete cosine transform(DCT) domain, and the study indicates the statistic of clean speech DCT coefficients tending to fall somewhere in between the Gaussian and Laplacian distribution. Based on the results,a novel speech enhancement algorithm is proposed using Gaussian-Laplacian combination model, whose core is employing a linear combination of Gaussian and Laplacian distribution to model the statistic of clean speech DCT coefficients. The corresponding weights of either distribution to the combination model are adaptively adjusted in terms of the probability of each hypothesis, which is estimated based on a soft decision technique by using Bayesian theorem. Through a number of objective and subjective tests,we compare the performance of the proposed algorithm with other recent model based approaches and have found that our algorithm is superior to the related approaches at all testing environments.

This paper investigates the problem of fuel-efficient and safe control of autonomous vehicle platoons. We present a two-part hierarchical control method that can guarantee platoon stability with minimal fuel consumption. The first part vehicle controller is derived in the context of receding horizon optimal control by constructing and solving an optimization problem of overall fuel consumption. The Second part platoon controller is a complementation of the first part, which is given on the basis of platoon stability analysis. The effectiveness of the presented platoon control method is demonstrated by both numerical simulations and experiments with laboratory-scale Arduino cars.

The estimation of noise Power spectral density(PSD) is a very crucial issue for speech enhancement as a result of its significant effect on the quality and intelligibility of the enhanced speech. Most of the existing estimators for noise PSD try to employ Gaussian speech priors, which, however, have been proven inconsistent with the reality. We derived an effective solution to this problem of estimating noise PSD in the Minimum mean square error(MMSE) sense when the speech component is modeled by a Laplacian distribution. Meanwhile, the soft decision technique instead of the hard Voice activity detection(VAD) is evolved into our algorithm, which can automatically makes the estimation unbiased without requiring a bias compensation. The performance of the proposed method is tested by several objective and subjective measures under various stationary and nonstationary noise environments. The results confirm that our method achieves good performance for all the noise conditions and Signalnoise-ratio(SNR) settings.

To deeply understand the essential relationship between two different-frequency signals and explore the phase synchronization law in frequency standard comparison, a novel modeling building method of Lissajous figure reversal period is proposed based on the group quantization phase processing. The relationships between the Lissajous figure reversal period and group period are revealed. The frequency deviation and nominal frequency of the measured signal are obtained using the group period and number of inflection point in the Lissajous figure. The results of a frequency standard comparison can accurately achieved using the frequency deviation. A lot of noise problems introduced by the frequency divider, frequency multiplier and frequency mixer are solved in the traditional frequency standard comparison, and the high-precision frequency standard comparison results can be quickly obtained using the proposed method. The experimental results show that a close relationship exists among the Lissajous figure reversal period, group period and frequency *** measured frequency can be precisely calculated using the relationship, and the frequency stability of system can reach the E-112/s level.

The development of low-temperature solid oxide fuel cells(LT-SOFCs)is of significant importance for realizing the widespread application of *** has stimulated a substantial materials research effort in developing high oxide-ion conductivity in the electrolyte layer of *** this context,for the first time,a dielectric material,CaCu_(3)Ti_(4)O_(12)(CCTO)is designed for LT-SOFCs electrolyte application in this *** individual CCTO and its heterostructure materials with a p-type Ni_(0.8)Co_(0.15)Al_(0.05)LiO_(2−δ)(NCAL)semiconductor are evaluated as alternative electrolytes in LT-SOFC at 450–550℃.The single cell with the individual CCTO electrolyte exhibits a power output of approximately 263 mW cm^(-2) and an open-circuit voltage(OCV)of 0.95 V at 550℃,while the cell with the CCTO–NCAL heterostructure electrolyte capably delivers an improved power output of approximately 605 mW cm^(-2) along with a higher OCV over 1.0 V,which indicates the introduction of high hole-conducting NCAL into the CCTO could enhance the cell performance rather than inducing any potential short-circuiting *** is found that these promising outcomes are due to the interplay of the dielectric material,its structure,and overall properties that led to improve electrochemical mechanism in CCTO–***,density functional theory calculations provide the detailed information about the electronic and structural properties of the CCTO and NCAL and their heterostructure CCTO–*** study thus provides a new approach for developing new advanced electrolytes for LT-SOFCs.
