Objective:The study aims to understand the level of perceived stress and related influencing factors among the urban and rural senior high school students in China and their channels of coping with the stress,when they shifted from home-based online learning to on-campus learning after their return to school during the post-Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic ***:From January to March 2021,the Chinese Perceived Stress Scale(SSCPs-14)and a self-designed questionnaire were used for the online survey among the senior high school students from six secondary schools(three from cities and three from counties)in three provinces of China(Shandong,Shanghai and Sichuan)who were selected by convenient *** analysis,t-test,χ^(2)test and multivariate logistic regression were used to analyze the ***:A total of 1,462 respondents were enrolled in the study,of which 41.66%were urban students and 58.34%were rural *** overall average score of CPSS-14 was 21.69±*** respondents reported the following influencing factors of perceived stress,including"Change of their learning and sleep schedule(OR=1.426,95%CI:1.056~1.927,P=0.021),"Communication with their family members(OR=2.820,95%CI:1.971~4.034,P<0.001)and"The family’s financial status"(OR=1.675,95%CI:1.181~2.376,P=0.004).Their coping strategies when facing with the stress were ranked from high to low frequency as follows:"Talk to friends(34.63%)","Talk to parents(26.88%)","Seek help from teachers(14.53%)","Deal with it on my own(13.21%)","Seek help from a psychological counsellor(7.95%),"Others(1.42%)"and"Ignore the problem(1.39%)".Rural students with three and more than three coping channels(44%)were more than urban students(36%),with a statistically significant difference between the two(χ^(2)=10.878,P=0.012).A higher proportion of respondents(49.4%)with fewer coping channels reported high level of perceived stress,compared with those with multiple coping channels(33.4%).The diff

The academic world has at least nine viewpoints on the Marx's thought in the high school period: devout religious theology,moral theology,liberalism,democracy,utopian socialism,populism,ethical communism,French materialism,the flash of historical materialism,etc. We believe that these views cannot reflect the background of Marx's thoughts in high school. Marx's three high school papers in 1835 reflected the germination of Marx's positive free thoughts in his high school. Marx's positive free thoughts contain a the relatively complete structure of three aspects of the general reason ability of freedom,the special conditions for freedom,and the specific historical form of freedom. The positive free thought in Marx's high school period is finally realized in his communist theory through the his revolution of dialectical materialism and historical materialism.

This study is conducted with self-developed questionnaire on 910 middle school students,aimed at describing middle school students'academic subjective well-being and exploring its influential *** show that(1)Academic subjective well-being of middle school students is generally low and there exist differences in different schools and *** from non-key middle schools have lower academic subjective well-being than those from the key *** 2 students in both junior and senior middle schools have the lowest academic subjective well-being.(2)Factors directly affecting middle school students'academic subjective well-being are academic experience and the present academic achievements,with the former playing a major role.(3)Factors indirectly influencing middle school students'academic subjective well-being are social pressure and expected academic achievements,both of which influence students'academic subjective well-being through students'academic experience or their present academic achievements.

This study investigated the efects of boarding at school on students'prosocial behaviors in rural China using data from the National Children's Study of *** instrumental variable(IV)approach was used to control for potential endogeneity,and the IVs were the proportion of boarding students in higher grades and the school area per *** ordinary least squares and IV estimates showed that boarding students exhibited more prosocial behaviors,including compliance with rules,positive traits,and altruistic *** results were *** analyses suggested that students from low-income families,children who were not"left behind,"high-grade students,and female students were more likely to benefit from *** found that these effects were primarily due to boarding students developing stronger feelings of trust and support from their peers and teachers and participating in more school-organized events and team activities.

Background: Kinshasa’s peri-urban settings have a low rate of water access, which has significant consequences for the WASH infrastructures in schools and preventative measures against the spread of waterborne diseases and pathogens. This study aimed to assess the availability, functionality, and gender sensitivity of WASH infrastructures of Kinshasa’s peri-urban schools. Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed in three of the four educational provinces of Kinshasa, targeting 165 peri-urban schools. Data were collected using a questionnaire and an observation grid. Results: An overall proportion of 10.9% of schools possessed a water point, and therefore time-consuming water chores are a necessity in 89.1% of schools. Girl students provided 30% of the labor collecting water during punishments. A total of 98.2% of schools had functional latrines of which 3.6% were found hygienic, associated with water reserve next to the latrines (P = 0.040). Only 2.4% of schools displayed posters raising awareness of latrine hygiene, and 3.6% displayed posters on hand hygiene. The ratios of latrines units for girls were 58:1 for toilets and 115:1 for urinals, justifying open defecation and urination reported in 62.4% of schools. Also, 43% of schools had hand-washing facilities whose functionality was significantly associated with the presence of water points in the school’s inner courtyard (P = 0.032), with water (P P Conclusion: The majority of schools had limited drinking water services, which negatively impact the functionality and gender sensitivity of other WASH provisions. The current evidence as a public health concern would raise government and school authorities’ attention to address these environmental threats.

The effect of two COVID-19 lockdowns on physical activity of school-age children

The introduction of strict quarantine restrictions in many countries initiated a direction in science to study the behavioral characteristics of children and adolescents during the social isolation at the population *** present our observations during the two lockdowns in *** objective of this study was to determine:a)the level of light(LPA)and moderate-to-vigorous(MVPA)physical activity among school-age children,and b)the impact of the external and internal factors on their physical activity during the *** Physical Activity Questionnaire(GPAQ)as part of our questionnaire Q-RAPH was *** of 1091 children 6–18 years old(54%boys)filled Q-RAPH at two measurement points in 2020 and *** performing ANCOVA and logistic regression,we found a significant decrease in MVPA by 12.7%in 2021 compared to 2020(p<0.001)while LPA was about 1.5 h a day during both *** proportion of children who reach the recommended levels of MVPA also decreased by 13.7%in 2021(p<0.001).Factors negatively affecting the achievement of 60 min a day of MVPA were female gender,chronic diseases,overweight/obesity,non-participation in organized sports,and a decrease in the average air *** study evidences the insufficient level of preventive measures and requires an intensification of health education among the Ukrainian *** developing preventive measures,special attention should be paid to groups vulnerable to MVPA reduction as children who have chronic diseases and/or overweight/obesity as well as non-participation in sports.

Background: Excessive exposure to fluoride can reduce intelligence. Methylenetetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase, cyclohydrolase, and formyltetrahydrofolate synthetase 1 (MTHFD1) polymorphisms have important roles in neurodevelopment. However, the association ofMTHFD1 polymorphisms with children’s intelligence changes in endemic fluorosis areas has been rarely ***: A cross-sectional study was conducted in four randomly selected primary schools in Tongxu County, Henan Province, from April to May in 2017. A total of 694 children aged 8 to 12 years were included in the study with the recruitment by the cluster sampling method. Urinary fluoride (UF) and urinary creatinine were separately determined using the fluoride ion-selective electrode and creatinine assay kit. Children were classified as the high fluoride group and control group according to the median of urinary creatinine-adjusted urinary fluoride (UFCr) level. Four loci ofMTHFD1 were genotyped, and the Combined Raven’s Test was used to evaluate children’s intelligence quotient (IQ). Generalized linear model and multinomial logistic regression model were performed to analyze the associations between children’s UFCr level,MTHFD1 polymorphisms, and intelligence. The general linear model was used to explore the effects of gene-environment and gene-gene interaction on ***: In the high fluoride group, children’s IQ scores decreased by 2.502 when the UFCr level increased by 1.0 mg/L (β= –2.502, 95% confidence interval [CI]: –4.411, –0.593), and the possibility for having "excellent" intelligence decreased by 46.3% (odds ratio = 0.537, 95% CI: 0.290, 0.994). Children with the GG genotype showed increased IQ scores than those with the AA genotype of rs11627387 locus in the high fluoride group (P < 0.05). Background:SARS-CoV-2 clinical presentation is associated with the patients’age ***,young indi-viduals present higher proportions of asymptomatic or mild COVID-19 infection,compared to *** on secondary COVID-19 transmission in households,according to the cases’age group,are ***:We performed a follow-up cohort study including all COVID-19 real-time polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)-confirmed cases(adolescent students and school staff)diagnosed in an epidemiological investigation of a large high school *** compared the adolescent and adult groups regarding clinical symptoms,time to negative COVID-19 RT-PCR tests,and infection transmission in ***:The study population included 817 *** confirmed COVID-19 RT-PCR outbreak cases(n=178)were followed(students aged 12-19 years,median age 14 years,n=153,school staffaged 24-67 years,median age 39 years,n=25)and the cases’household close contacts(n=639)were *** adolescents had lower symptomatic infection rates,shorter time to negative COVID-19 RT-PCR tests,and lower transmission rates to household members,compared to the *** general transmission rate among household contacts was 13.5%,(86/639)ranging from 8.6%in asymptomatic students’contacts to 27.3%in symptomatic ***-19 transmission rates were significantly higher in contacts of symptomatic cases compared to asymptomatic cases(odds ratio:2.06,95%CI 1.26-3.4)and higher in adults compared to adolescents(odds ratio:2.69,95%CI 1.43-4.89).Conclusions:Adolescents and adults diagnosed in an outbreak investigation differ as to COVID-19 clinical presen-tation and *** adolescents may show mild or no symptoms,COVID-19 prevention in school settings is *** nonpharmaceutical measures and promoting vaccination programs in eligible staffand students should be considered.
